Zach and tori roloff honeymoon

How Did Zach Roloff From ‘Little People, Big World’ Meet His Wife, Tori?

It was over a decade ago when TLC first aired Little People, Big World — and today, fans are still invested in the Roloff family, even though a ton has changed over the years. When we first met the Roloffs, Matt and Amy were the stars, as they were a couple who both had dwarfism. Viewers got to see how they navigated life, held down a business, and took care of their four children with their condition. And though three of their kids were born to be of average height, one of their kids, Zach, was also born with a form of dwarfism.

Today, Zach is 28 years old and married with a child of his own. Tori Roloff, Zach’s wife, also quickly became a fan favorite — and the two definitely have a lot of love for each other. Here’s how they first met.

Tori met Zach when she was working on the Roloff family farm

Fans love Tori and Zach’s story of how they first started dating, as it’s proof of how hard they initially both fell for each other. According to People, Tori was working on the Roloff family farm during the 2010 pumpkin season when she first met Zach. The fall is an ultra-busy month for the farm, so the extra set of hands was necessary. And though Zach has stated now that prior to Tori he had “never really dated before,” it didn’t stop him from charming his current wife immediately.

According to Tori, it was a coworker that initially told her that Zach had a crush on her. The coworker also told Tori that Zach didn’t think he had a chance, but now we know how wrong his first impression was. As Tori said, “Our first date lasted five hours, and we’ve been together ever since.” As for what Zach had to say, he noted that Tori gave him confidence and “brought me out of shell and made me more social.”

They married in 2015

Tori and Zach had a gigantic wedding that took place on the Roloff farm property back in 2015. People reports the wedding had nearly 200 guests — and judging from their photos, the two could not have been more excited for the event. “We’re marrying, coming together, committing ourselves to one another for a lifetime in front of all of our family and friends. We’re just super excited!” Zach told the publication ahead of tying the knot.

It seemed like it was a group effort to get the farm wedding-ready, too. Zach and Tori mentioned how much Matt and Amy, Zach’s parents, helped to get the venue in tip-top shape. Even though Matt and Amy were going through their own struggles with divorce at the time, they were able to come together for their son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law for a very special day.

Today, they have a child together who has dwarfism like Zach

How are Zach and Tori doing today? It appears the couple are stronger than ever — and they even have a baby together. Jackson Roloff is 1 year old and was born with the same kind of dwarfism as Zach, In Touch Weekly reports.

In regards to the dwarfism, the couple explain the higher risk never deterred them from starting a family. And Tori took to Instagram to explain, “We actually found out when I was 34 weeks pregnant, but my doctor had a little more of a heads up than some parents.” And though Tori explains the idea of raising a child who would be considered different was nerve-wracking, she knew she’d love her child no matter what. Zach also expressed that he was ready to raise a child with the same condition he had. “But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it,” he said.

How Did Zach Roloff Meet His Wife, Tori Roloff? The Two Just Welcomed A Baby Boy

Last week, Little People, Big World stars Zach and Tori Roloff welcomed their first child. As the happy couple basks in the glow of new parenthood, their fans are excited about to see more social media updates featuring the baby boy. And because the couple’s TLC show originally aired more than a decade ago, the whole situation is starting to feel a little nostalgic, too. In celebrating Jackson Kyle Roloff’s arrival, fans may even want to relive the family’s origin story, from how Zach Roloff met his wife, Tori Roloff, to their beautiful wedding to this latest stage of their happily ever after.

Jackson entered the world just in time for Mother’s Day Friday. “Baby and mother are doing great and Jackson is already mastered holding daddy’s fingers and snuggling with mom!” Zach said at the time, according to People magazine. “He is adorable and Tori and I are loving being parents.”

The two clearly love being together, as well. They were together for three years before Zach asked her to marry him; Upon getting engaged, they even came up with the cutest wedding hashtag in the history of wedding hashtags: “#StoryOfZachAndTori.” Exactly how they met is unclear, according to the celebrity gossip site Wetpaint, but we know from an episode of Little People, Big World that Zach initially liked Tori because of their shared interest in soccer and the fact that they both played in a co-ed soccer league.

However they got together, it could not be more obvious that they are so, so happy they did. In publicly announcing the engagement on Instagram back in 2014, Tori wrote that her life had changed for the better when she met Zach, her “best friend”:

You are the one with whom I choose to spend my life. 3 years ago today this man walked into my life and changed it for good. Last night he got down on one knee and asked me the most important question of a relationship. And of course I said yes. I can not wait to spend my life with my best friend. #storyofzachandtori #imgettingmarried”

In July 2015, they wed in a gorgeous ceremony on the Roloff family farm in Oregon, according to ABC News — an event that aired as a two-hour TLC special the next month.

The couple has not yet revealed whether their son has a form of dwarfism, as Zach does, although it was a possibility they discussed on the show recently. Zach was ambivalent about the prospect that his son would share his dwarfism:

I’m not going to say, “Oh yeah, man, I wish my kid had dwarfism. All those struggles he’s gonna go through? Heck yeah! Can’t wait.” I’m not going to say that. But I’m also not going to say I really hope an average height . Average height kids have issues, too.

But it was Tori who summed up the situation best: “Whatever pops out, we’re gonna love it.” And it definitely seems as though they are doing just that.

Audrey Roloff is sharing touching video footage of her first time meeting newborn niece, Lilah Ray after brother-in-law Zach Roloff and his wife Tori welcomed their second child Tuesday, Nov. 19. The former Little People, Big World star and her 2-year-old daughter Ember looked on adoringly at the newest Roloff in a video she shared to her Instagram Story Friday, all set to John Mayer’s “In the Blood.”

On another video, which showed the toddler looking intently at her little cousin, the expectant mother wrote, “Ember just wants to hold and kiss her so much already.”

Tori and Zach announced the birth of their baby to PEOPLE Thursday, saying in a statement, “Zach and I are so excited to introduce you to our sweet baby girl Lilah. She has been the perfect addition to our family!”

The now mother-of-two also shared a photo of Lilah wrapped in a floral blanket and a yellow headband to her social media account as well as a family photo with 2-year-old son Jackson, writing, “Lilah Ray Roloff. Born on November 19th at 6:52pm. 8 pounds 9 ounces. 18 1/2 inches long. Welcome to the family sweet baby girl!”

In addition to Roloff and her husband Jeremy, who is Zach’s twin brother, both grandparents on the Roloff side of Lilah’s life made sure to share their photos of meeting their new grandchild.

“Lilah Ray Roloff born 11/19/19,” Zach’s dad Matt Roloff wrote alongside his darling photo. “Another absolutely precious grand baby .. love her sooo much already!”

Amy added on her own profile, “She’s here. Lilah Ray Roloff was born Nov 19th, 2019 to Zachary and Tori and big brother Jackson. Woohoo! My grand-daughter has my heart and is loved so much already.”

“She’s beautiful and precious and a blessing to our family. I’m so looking forward to watching baby girl grow up, see Jackson and Lilah hang out and spending grandma time with them,” she continued. “Congrats Zachary and Tori. You two are amazing parents. Love you. I couldn’t be happier and more excited to be a grandma again.”

Little People, Big World stars Zach, 27 and Tori, 26 have a lot on their hands with the recent birth of their first son, Jackson Roloff. The two new parents have come a long way since they first revealed their relationship on an earlier season the TLC series.

Tori and Zach first met when Tori started working on the Roloff farm for pumpkin season in 2010, according to People. “The first time I met Zach, I was working at Roloff Farms during pumpkin season as a greeter and one of our coworkers introduced us,” Tori said on Little People, Big World.

But Zach was originally hesitant to date Tori: “Her being average height, me being a dwarf, people obviously stare. Like, they think I’m her little brother,” Zach said in the same episode of Little People, Big World. “So, I was really skeptical to make sure that is she really mentally that strong to get over that.”

Zach also revealed that Tori was his first kiss, and he said it was the perfect moment. “She was my first kiss. It was an epic night, though. It was on the roof of the swamp fort,” Zach said in the episode. “Full moon right above us. Like, primetime. It was prime.”

On April 29, 2014, Zach and Tori got engaged after more than three years of dating. The show followed Zach picking out the perfect ring and planning a special proposal. He proposed on the Roloff farm, where they first met.

“I kind of always figured he would do it on the farm, just ’cause this is where we got to know each other,” Tori said in an episode of Little People, Big World. “This is where we, you know, fell in love and it was the perfect spot to do it.”

The proposal wasn’t filmed for the show, but the couple couldn’t stop gushing about the special moment. “At that moment, nothing else mattered. Except for getting on the knee, but then I pulled out the box and then she knew what was up,” Zach said on the show. “It was a totally powerful moment. Seeing her so happy, made me so happy.”

“It was really special. It was a really nice moment. And I said yes,” Tori added.

The couple got married on July 25, 2015 on the Roloff farm. They went to Disney World for their honeymoon. The wedding was shown on a special episode of Little People, Big World which highlighted the story of their relationship as they made it to their wedding day.

Their first child, Jackson Kyle Roloff, was born on May 12, 2017. The couple has been open about becoming first time parents, especially after finding out that that he has achondroplasia just like Zach.

“We’ll hope to just give him a healthy, happy life,” Zach said in a clip from TLC. “He might have to take two steps for everyone else’s one step, but hopefully we can raise him in a way that it won’t bother him.”

What a couple!

Little People, Big World (LPBW) premiered April 2 and across social media reactions were mixed. Jackson Roloff’s first birthday rolled around and Tori and Zach Roloff started preparing to the big event. Titled Happy Birthday, Jackson pretty much saved the day in a somewhat disappointing episode.

LPBW Fans disappointed with Tori and Zach bickering

The show, meant to kick off with a sweet celebration for Jackson, ended up with the one-year-old as the highlight of the day. As for the rest of the family? Well, fans just felt the whole thing fell flat with Tori and Zach bickering. Actually, the bickering started before the party as Zach and Tori went to buy what they needed. Zach and Tori disagreed with what they should spend.

Tori complained to the cameras, saying “We bicker when I try to tell Zachary something about the house, money, building something. But then Zachary every time he tries to talk about food, Jackson or clothes… anything that’s in my realm we argue.” Okay, we get it, life’s not perfect, but fans seem fed up with it on the LPBW show. On money matters, we saw a history of bickering between Amy and Matt Roloff. Now, fighting over money seems to have infected the next generation.

Zach making the mistakes of his father Matt?

Fans who watched Little People, Big World over the years recall that Matt often made spending decisions that Amy disagreed with. The constant bickering between the couple actually split their fans who remain implacable enemies on social media to this day. Finally, the divorce split them even more. However, one thing that fans liked glued them to the idea of the new LPBW season. That was the fun of anticipating watching fan-favorites Zach and Tori raise their charming baby, Jackson.

Instead, disappointed fans felt that Zach’s changed in the last year. Some fans mentioned they found it disturbing that he seems to follow the mistakes his father made. The whole argument started over money because Zach took out a new mortgage before selling the first property. Money’s tight, tension’s high, but hey, fans all know TLC leans towards tension and drama to keep the show going. Frankly, judging from fan comments, perhaps the LPBW show should have angled Tori and Zach’s story in a different way.

I don’t think things are going to turn out the way I thought they were. Tonight, for the first time ever, I don’t think this story is going to end the way I thought it would… #LPBW

Here’s what some LPBW fans said about it on Twitter and Instagram:

And although Zach and Jeremy’s parents, Matt and Amy, are currently going through a divorce, the two kept it amicable for the sake of the nuptials.

“My parents played a huge role in setting up the farm, making it all nice,” Zach told People.

“Matt planted a bunch of wheat fields behind the gazebo,” Tori added. “There’s like these huge rolling hills of wheat, which are really beautiful.”
