Cowell, one of the best-known TV judges of all time, is not married, although he has been with his partner – Lauren Silverman – for several years now.

Cowell met Silverman at Barbados’ Sandy Lane resort in 2004 when she was vacationing with her then-husband, real estate mogul Andrew Silverman, according to Good Housekeeping. The two hit it off immediately but didn’t start dating for some time following their first encounter.

Good Housekeeping reports that Cowell and Silverman began dating in secret sometime after they met, but kept their relationship under wraps as Silverman was still married. However, when she found out she was pregnant in 2013, the couple was forced to make their relationship public, which caused quite the scandal across tabloid headlines for months following the news.

“Soon after, her husband filed for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery as the main reason,” Good Housekeeping reports. “Andrew and Lauren finalized their divorce in November of that year. In the divorce settlement, there was a strict stipulation that lasted until January 2015, which stated that Simon was required to stay away from the couple’s son, Adam, or face a $50,000 penalty.”

Silverman gave birth to Cowell’s son Eric in February of 2014, and Cowell claims fatherhood “softened” him. “People have asked me if I have changed since I have had Eric and of course you do, you can’t help it,” he told DailyMail.

However, Cowell struggled with being a parent for the first few months. “During the first eight or nine months I was thinking, ‘I don’t think he likes me very much. He does remind me of me when I was younger because he knows how to try it on and how to get away with things,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

Although there is no word on whether or not the couple plans to tie the knot (and Cowell apparently becomes rather bashful every time its mentioned), they are not ruling out another baby (or two) in the near future.

“I had a brother when I was younger so I think it’s kind of cool to have two,” he told Extra. “Well, two or three.”

Cowell had admitted in the past that he isn’t proud of that fact that his and Silverman’s relationship began with a scandalous affair.

“It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened,” Simon told The Mirror.

There have also been reports over the last year that Cowell and Silverman’s ex-husband Andrew have buried the hatchet, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

April 28, 2019 – 09:49 BST Hanna Fillingham Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has opened up about his fears for his young son Eric

Simon Cowell has given a rare interview about his family life, and the conversation quickly turned to his five-year-old son Eric, who he shares with partner Lauren Silverman. The Britain’s Got Talent judge told The Mail on Sunday that he had thought about calling Eric Simon, but chose to name him after his own dad instead. “I do think we made the right call. It would have been too much to inflict Simon on him,” he admitted. The doting dad added that his number one fear for Eric was him getting bullied. “And him getting bullied is what I dread most,” he said.

He continued: “There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure. I really don’t want that for him. The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there’s even a whiff of it, I don’t think I could handle it.” Simon is no doubt a hands-on dad, and regularly takes Eric to work with him on Britain’s Got Talent. The TV personality revealed that his son thinks that he is already working on the show after he asked him whether he would like to follow in his dad’s footsteps. Simon said: “He said: ‘What do you mean? I already have a job. I come to the studio don’t I?’ I had to point out to him that there’s more to what I do than just pitching up.”

In March, Eric celebrated his fifth birthday, and enjoyed a dinner with his mum Lauren and her friend Teri Seymour and Terri’s daughter Coco – who was also celebrating her birthday. The pair were pictured on social media having a wonderful time blowing out the candles on their cake. While Simon and Lauren spend a lot of their time in America, Simon bought a house in south London at the beginning of the year for his family to relocate to. He reportedly splashed out £15million on a new six-bedroom house in Wimbledon, London, so that he is closer to a school chosen for Eric, however, a spokesperson has since denied that the move is of because of this. A spokesperson said: “Simon and Lauren chose to move because they really like the area – there’s been no decision made yet on schools.”

If you asked Simon Cowell when he first started on television, if he wanted a child, chances are he’d have replied with a hard no. However, over the years, the Got Talent judge has clearly likened to the idea with his son, Eric turning six in February. Recent rumours are speculating that Simon isn’t keen on a second child, but here’s why they may be wrong…

Will 5 year old Eric have any siblings?

Close friend of Simon, Sinitta Malone, recently spoke to Closer Magazine about the possibility of Cowell having a second child. Sinitta said he doubts Simon and girlfriend, Lauren Silverman will choose to have another, claiming the TV personality is already ‘fulfilled’.

“I honestly don’t know if Simon will have more children. I think he’s so in love with Eric, and he’s so fulfilled and satisfied, that there just isn’t any love left. He’s completely besotted with Eric. Simon was always a softie – I’ve always said that to people.”

Simon has admitted many times in the past, that he’d love for Eric to have a sibling.

‘I’m beginning to warm to the idea. Myself and Lauren want to have more children of our own but we could adopt as well.”

Cowell has spoken out about the importance of siblings and the wonderful experiences he had with his own as a child as wishes the same for Eric.

SIMON Cowell has healed his rift with Andrew Silverman, the man whose wife he stole from right under his nose, according to reports.

The music mogul, 58, famously got socialite partner Lauren Silverman, 40, pregnant while her marriage to his close friend Andrew, 40, was on the rocks.

Property tycoon Andrew was livid when he found out his friend had slept with his wife, and filed for divorce, citing adultery – at the same time Lauren was revealed as ten weeks pregnant.
When the pregnancy became news, the X Factor judge said: “I’m not proud of the circumstances. I can’t hold my head up about it.”

Subsequently, things got so toxic between the two men that Andrew allegedly banned Simon from being in the same room as his and Lauren’s son Adam, 11, during meetings in New York.

Now The Mail on Sunday claims Andrew and Simon – who is dad to Lauren’s son Eric, three – have officially “buried the hatchet”.

And shockingly, they say the relationship has become friendly again because cuckolded Andrew started sending Simon texts on occasions including his mother’s death.

A source told the paper: “Simon has always been keen to put the message out that relations were cordial for the sake of Adam.

“In reality, everything was extremely acrimonious. Now things really are cordial – in fact they are amicable, friendly even.”

They added: “There is even talk of a joint family holiday like the old days. It’s bizarre.”

Andrew remarried in 2015, to widow Samantha Zimmerman – thought to be a lookalike of Lauren.
Now it seems the couple may be heading off on holiday with Simon, Lauren and the children.

And yet as late as 2013, Simon, Lauren and Andrew were seen soaking up the sun on similar holidays, often sojourning in the Caribbean.

Less than a year later, when the divorce news hit, Andrew’s brother Alexander told the New York Post: “It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story.”

August 25, 2015 – 12:04 BST hellomagazine.com Lauren Silverman’s ex-husband Andrew is engaged to his new partner Samantha Zimmerman, after proposing to the widow and mum-of-two last week

Lauren Silverman’s ex-husband Andrew is engaged to his new partner Samantha Zimmerman. According to various reports the property mogul got down on one knee and proposed to Samantha last week.

Lauren, who is now in a relationship with Simon Cowell and has a baby son Eric with him, was one of the first to congratulate the couple on their engagement.

“She and Simon are really happy for them both,” a source told the Daily Mail. “The relationship between everyone is good.”

Andrew and Lauren Silverman divorced in December 2013

Andrew and Lauren, who have a nine-year-old son Adam, were married for ten years but divorced in 2013. The split came after Lauren and Simon began a relationship and she became pregnant with his baby.

The ex-couple seem to be on good terms, however, and recently spent the day together with Andrew’s new fiancée.

“Samantha, Lauren and Andrew spent a day together this summer on Adam’s camp visit day and had a really great day,” the source added. “Everyone is on good terms and Adam is away at the moment on vacation with Lauren and Simon.”

Few details are known about Andrew and Samantha’s relationship, as the real estate businessman likes to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. According to reports, Samantha is a mum-of-two and was married to Bear Sterns executive Matthew Zimmerman, but he sadly passed away in 2012.

Speaking a few months after his split, Andrew said that his priority was his son Adam, who lives with his dad on the Upper East Side in New York.

“It was a very difficult time in my life,” Andrew told The Observer. “I learned a lot, moved forward. I learned a lot about myself as an individual, the importance of family. My focus has been on my son throughout the whole ordeal.”

“Being in the public spotlight is not something I envy. It’s never been my way,” he added. “Privacy has tremendous value. I’ve tried to be as quiet as possible even though everyone wants to hear about this hoopla.”

Simon Cowell on the reason why he doesn’t want to have any more children

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has ruled out having any more children – as he gushed about his 4-year-old son, Eric.

He also revealed that he has confided in Cheryl about the reasoning, saying that they both agree it is his ‘destiny’.

Speaking at his Syco record label summer party at the V&A museum in London, he told The Mirror:

“I don’t think I will have more kids. I’m 58 and Eric is amazing.

“I was talking to Cheryl about this, it’s destiny, you look at the kids and why would you want to change anything else.”

The 58-year-old also told how becoming a dad has helped him focus on and change his priorities and outlook on life.

Simon explained that his young son is already showing off his intuitive and intelligent side, adding:

“I spoke to Eric a week ago on the anniversary of my mum dying, and he knew without me saying anything.

“My life now, I see it through his eyes and the funny thing is it is so uncomplicated.”

Simon and his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, welcomed little Eric on Valentine’s Day 2014.

A spokesman for the X Factor judge said at the time:

“They are all OK. Simon was there for the birth. He landed at 6.15pm, British time, and he was at the hospital by about 7.15pm.

“He was there for the birth.”
