What does brandon blackstock do for a living?

If you don’t know who Kelly Clarkson‘s husband, Brandon Blackstock is, then you’ve probably been living under a rock. Not only is he the son of TV producer Narvel Blackstock, but his stepmom used to be “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia” singer Reba McEntire. Talk about a superstar family!

The 37-year-old beauty and her beau got married in 2013 and they have two kids, River Rose, 5, and Remington, 3, together. Brandon, 43, also has two older kids, Savannah and Seth, from his former marriage to Melissa Ashworth. Together, he and Kelly have embraced their blended family and continue to show their kids that family should always come first!

Since the “Because of You” songstress is always doting on her adorable kids, fans were caught a little off guard when she opened up about her and Brandon’s romantic life together. While chatting with The Voice season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli during a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, things got super interesting when Kelly revealed how often she and her handsome hubby have sex.

“This is actually one I always think about because I see it in interviews all the time and I always think about asking everybody this because it’s so interesting to me,” Brynn, 16, began to ask the TV host. “What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed every night?”

Not wanting to flat-out say it, the American Idol alum joked about their nightly routine. “Well, Brynn,” she giggled. “I was single for many years, so … I have children and how one makes children is generally what I do before bed.” LOL!

Considering Kelly struggled with intimacy prior to her marriage with Brandon, she couldn’t feel more proud to boast about her daily activities. “That’s not a lie,” she insisted to Brynn. “That’s real and it’s not weird. It’s natural.”

Despite being open and honest about their romantic rendezvous, fans can’t get enough of Kelly and Brandon’s relationship. In fact, the hunk’s stepmom, Reba, gushed to Closer about her stepson’s loving marriage with his wife of six years.

“She’s a great gal, big-hearted and with Kelly what you see is what you get!” Reba once told Closer. “I love her to pieces. She’s been one of my best friends since I met her in 2002.”

Kelly Clarkson is scheduled to perform at tonight’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular in New York City. The 36-year-old singer and songwriter has been having a great year so far, already releasing a new song, returning to The Voice, and hosting the Billboard Music Awards. In her personal life, she and her husband Brandon Blackstock are also celebrating their six-year wedding anniversary in 2018. So what exactly do we know about Clarkson’s husband? Who is Brandon Blackstock?

Blackstock is a music manager, and Clarkson met him in during rehearsals for the 2006 Country Music Awards. She was performing a song with the Rascal Flatts that night, and Blackstock was the band’s manager. He’s also the son of Narvel Blackstock, Clarkson’s manager.

Clarkson says that she was immediately interested in him back in 2006, although they didn’t actually get together that night, as Blackstock was married at the time.

“We were just in a room together, and then he came up and said he was from the same hometown as me and I was like, ‘Oh we’re so getting married,’ I was so that girl,” Clarkson later recalled. “When he became single, I was on the prowl.”

The two didn’t actually meet again until 2012. This time, she was performing at the Super Bowl with Blake Shelton, another one of Blackstock’s clients, according to PEOPLE. By this time, Blackstock had gotten divorced.

Their relationship moved pretty quickly from there. They got engaged 10 months after reconnecting at the Super Bowl, and the wedding took place the following October. One month later, in November 2013, Clarkson announced that she was pregnant with her first child.

I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock 🙂 We got married yesterday at Blackberry Farms in TN, the most beautiful place ever!

Clarkson and Blackstock’s daughter, River Rose Blackstock, was born in 2014, and their son, Remington Alexander Blackstock, was born in 2016. They also have two children from Blackstock’s previous marriage, 17-year-old Savannah and 11-year-old Seth.

Clarkson said in 2017 that she actually thought she was asexual before she met Blackstock, explaining:

“This isn’t a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I’m just going to be real: I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him. And I’m not downing my exes. You know, everybody’s different. But there was something about him. I honestly thought I was asexual — I’d never been turned on like that in my whole life. I was like, ‘Oh that’s that feeling… okay!”

Some of Clarkson’s recent work has been inspired by her marriage, including “Piece by Piece.” In that song, Clarkson says that after her father abandoned her, Blackstock restored her faith “that a man can be kind and a father could stay.” She explained in an interview with Glamour:

“I had River, and even from holding her the first day, I was like, how could anyone walk away from that? Then I started thinking that my husband is such a great father.”

Blackstock is on Twitter, and a pretty substantial amount of his feed is dedicated to supporting his wife and retweeting her. He also frequently shows support for his clients, including Blake Shelton.

Clarkson’s husband is also a pilot, and according to her Instagram, he recently bought his own plane.

Congrats @brandonblackstock on your new plane I married Maverick y’all he’s been flying for years and finally bought himself a @cirrusaircraft #dreams #reality #sexyandheknowsit

Do Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire Get Along?

When Kelly married Brandon Blackstock, she not only found love but was tossed into a very famous family.

As Kelly captured America’s hearts on the iconic first season of American Idol, she was still finding her footing in the entertainment world. A critical and important decision she made was asking country music superstar Reba McEntire to perform with her on the finale. Their performance then, sparked a life long partnership as they have appeared together on stage, in music videos, and have even toured together.

Reba was Kelly Clarkson’s idol

In March of this year, while Kelly was on tour in Nashville she brought Reba out on stage to sing with her, as the pair has done countless times. During a segment, she has dubbed “A Minute and a Glass of Wine,” she spends a moment talking directly to the crowd and sipping on some wine because “friends don’t let friends drink alone”.

Kelly explains, “I’ve been super, super excited about this particular “Minute and a Glass of Wine,” I mean literally, I’ve been waiting weeks to do this,” Clarkson speaks to the audience candidly in the video above. “I’m super excited about my guest…I asked this person because this person has been such an influence, not just musically but personally. It’s just a really rare thing to like– meet your hero and they live up to it. I think everybody knows what’s about to happen.”

The two took to the stage together after that to sing some of Reba’s most famous songs, their voices matching perfectly and their friendship apparent on stage.

Kelly marries into Reba’s family

Kelly’s now husband is Reba’s stepson. Their marriage turned Kelly from “just a friend”, into Reba’s daughter-in-law. When Kelly married Brandon Blackstock in 2013 it only solidified the bond between Reba and Kelly. So, despite Reba’s recent divorce from her longtime manager and husband of more than 20 years, Narvel Blackstock in 2015, Kelly and Reba are family. Reba regularly talks about spending the holidays with Kelly and her family and enjoys being a part of their lives.

Do Kelly and Reba get along?

Reba is “thrilled to death” that Kelly is her daughter in law. In fact, she recently spoke out about her relationship with Kelly assuring interviewers of their good relationship. “We’re family,” she said. “She married my oldest son, Brandon, but we’re also good friends, so that goes a long way — when you can have a good friend as a part of your family.”

Reba’s sentiments about Kelly show that there is more than just friendship in their relationship, but strong family bonds.

Kelly agrees with Reba

In 2018, Kelly was able to pay tribute to her musical hero and friend at the Kennedy Center Honors. Before she performed, Clarkson took a moment to talk about her love for Reba.

“I’ve been a fan of Reba since I was a little girl.” Clarkson explained, “Her voice has always felt nostalgic for me. Even as an adult, there’s something about her tone and her storytelling that just feels like home…Sometimes when we meet our heroes, it doesn’t always pan out how you hope. But meeting Reba—being friends with her, and eventually becoming family—has been one of the highlights of my life, truly,” she continued. “So thank you so much for listening to me vent as an artist. Thank you so much for comforting me on the phone through my tears, like a friend. And thank you for being a really rad grandma for my kids. I love you so much.”

Kelly’s sweet speech is all the confirmation we need to fully understand the depth of the singer’s affection for her mother-in-law. It appears the feeling is mutual.

Reba McEntire Opens Up About Her Former Stepson Marrying Kelly Clarkson: ‘Thank Goodness!’

Reba McEntire is counting her blessings that Kelly Clarkson was her daughter-in-law!

On Friday, the country star, 64, appeared on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where Clarkson, 37, pointed out that McEntire was not just her talk show guest, but also a friend and former family member.

“This is so weird, you know, ’cause when you’re friends and family with someone and you have ’em on your show, it’s awkward,” Clarkson told the audience.

Clarkson and McEntire have performed together many times, including the 2007 duet version of Clarkson’s “Because of You.” A year later, the duo hit the road together for a 2008 tour.

The two became family in 2013 when the “Since U Been Gone” singer married Brandon Blackstock. He’s the son of manager and guitarist Narvel Blackstock, whom McEntire wed in 1989 and divorced in 2015.

“I ended up marrying her oldest son, and you got stuck with me more,” Clarkson added with a laugh.

In response to their friendship evolving into family, McEntire had one thing to say: “Thank goodness!”

Once the audience began clapping at McEntire’s remark, the country singer added, “I’ll clap to that one too!”

Clarkson also couldn’t help but rave about her mother-in-law, noting how much of an inspiration McEntire and her illustrious career have been.

“Out of all the fun we’ve had, I always have my little moments with you because I know we’re friends and we’re family, but you’re always like that hero to me, especially musically,” Clarkson explained. “You’re just a beast, like a pioneer for women.”

“It’s insane,” she continued. “Not just musically, I think what’s amazing about your career is you’re a businesswoman, you’ve conquered Broadway, you’ve conquered TV, you’ve conquered movies, animated films. You’ve done everything you could possibly want to do!”

This isn’t the first time that Clarkson has gushed about her mother-in-law, whom she has remained close with even after McEntire’s split from Brandon’s father.

Last year, at a Kennedy Center ceremony where McEntire was being honored, Clarkson paid tribute to her with a powerful cover of McEntire’s 1990 hit “Fancy.”

Before belting out the country classic, Clarkson held back tears as she spoke of McEntire.

“I’ve been a fan of Reba since I was a little girl. Her voice has always felt nostalgic for me. Even as an adult, there’s something about her tone and her storytelling that just feels like home,” Clarkson said.

“Sometimes when we meet our heroes, it doesn’t always pan out how you hope. But meeting Reba — being friends with her, and eventually becoming family — has been one of the highlights of my life, truly,” Clarkson added. “So thank you so much for listening to me vent as an artist. Clarkson and Brandon, 42, share son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 3, and daughter River Rose, 5, as well as Brandon’s kids from a previous relationship, son Seth, 11, and daughter Savannah, 16.

Between television shows like The Voice, hosting gigs, concerts and live appearances, McEntire revealed that time together is hard to come by.

“I don’t ever see the grandkids!” McEntire joked to PEOPLE in April 2018. “It was a lot better when everybody was not so busy, but I’ve got seven grandchildren, so they’re scattered all over the country and busy doing stuff. But I love them.”

Clarkson, the winner of the inaugural season of “American Idol,” began dating Blackstock, former stepson of Reba McEntire, in 2012. The couple tied the knot in October 2013 in Tennessee.

At the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors, Clarkson gave McEntire lavish praise. “If we’re all being honest, sometimes when we meet our heroes it doesn’t always pan out how you hope… But meeting Reba, being friends with her, and eventually becoming family has been one of the highlights of my life.”

  • Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock married in 2013.
  • Kelly recently shared intimate details about their wedding on her talk show.
  • The couple has four children together, including two from Brandon’s previous marriage.

Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock share a love for music, but no love is stronger than the one they share for each other. The singer and talent manager have four children, including Brandon’s two children from a previous marriage, and have been married to each other for almost six years. In October 2017, Kelly unabashedly admitted she forgot her wedding anniversary, but Brandon is her perfect match because, turns out, he forgot, too!

Despite the oversight, their relationship is incredibly strong these days, but it did take a few years for Kelly and Brandon to overcome the friend-zone. The pair first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006 where Kelly was rehearsing for a duet with Rascal Flatts, and Brandon was there as the country group’s tour manager. However, it wasn’t until a meeting six years later when the relationship really took off.

How Kelly and Brandon met

In 2012, Kelly and Brandon’s romance kicked off at Super Bowl XLVI thanks to Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock (who was previously married to Reba McEntire). He manages Kelly and reintroduced them after his son’s divorce. “Brandon is my manager’s son. I’ve known him for six years, but he was married for most of that time,” Kelly told The Daily Mail in May 2012. “Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl and he was single…”

Kelly recently reflected on the start of her romance with Brandon while looking back at her fashion evolution over the years.

“Right when I got those bangs was right when I started dating my husband,” she explained in an interview with E! News. “I remember that because my Super Bowl performance, that was, like, our first time we started flirting. And I was like, ‘I’m so into you, make out with me!'”

Kelly was there to sing the National Anthem at the sporting event, and the duo’s mutual understanding of the music industry immediately bonded them. “He works as crazy-hard as me, if not harder and so doesn’t get in a mood if I can’t always call when I say I will,” Kelly said later that year, adding that she had “high hopes” for the relationship.

Brandon proposes to Kelly

Within 10 months of dating, Brandon popped the question with a gorgeous yellow canary diamond. “I’M ENGAGED!!!!!,” Kelly tweeted her fans on December 15, 2012. “I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”

Just over a year on the anniversary of them meeting (again), Kelly told Cosmopolitan in June 2013 that she was confident she would spend the rest of her life with her fianće. “Brandon’s totally the one,” she said. “I’ve never been so happy.”

Kelly and Brandon get married

Four months later, in October 2013, the couple tied the knot at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee. Kelly confirmed the nuptials with a photo from her big day on Twitter saying, “I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock :).”

The singer recently shared more details from her and Brandon’s wedding on her talk show, admitting that they “totally ended up eloping.”

“We had this big plan and then we just took our kids and then got married with this person we didn’t even know—but it was the most amazing thing—under a little barn on a river. It was so beautiful!” she shared. “It’s cool to make it intimate, because your life is always in the public eye.”

The singer also shared with fans a heartwarming video of their wedding set to Patty Griffin’s “Heavenly Day.”

The Clarkson-Blackstock family grows

On June 12, 2014, Kelly gave birth to their first daughter together, River Rose Blackstock. “Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)” she wrote on Twitter.

Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! 🙂

— Kelly Clarkson (@kellyclarkson) June 14, 2014

Two years later, she again shared on social media the birth of the couple’s second child, their son Remington Alexander Blackstock.

Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn’t be happier or more in love!

Kelly embraces her blended family

Prior to that, Kelly had already been taking on the role of stepmom to Brandon’s children from his first marriage, Savannah and Seth Blackstock. In 2016, Kelly told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview how much she admired her husband as a parent.

“Watching my husband love on his daughter all the time, you know, go to her events and just be there and, like, be present is, like, hard to watch but beautiful to watch,” she said on the live broadcast. “I know that my kids are going to have that.”

Just as Kelly plans to always be there for her kids, they show up to support her as well. In April, she turned a red carpet appearance into an adorable family outing with Brandon and all four of their children.

Rich Fury

Living in a blended household with four kids is no easy task, but it has not affected how much time the couple makes for one another. Kelly was featured on the cover of Redbook’s December/January 2018 issue and shared, “To keep it family appropriate, let’s say we’re just a lot more active than other couples. I’m a person who loves change. He loves spontaneity. Having a set time or place would be boring to us. I had never found someone I was truly passionate about, who I wanted to stay in bed with all day. The fact that I did, well…I was going to latch on and take advantage of that.”

Although the married couple seem to be getting a lot of practice, it’s unlikely that a third baby is in their future. “Oh God, those tubes are gone!” she told People. “That’s blasphemy. We don’t even speak of it. We’re both fixed in our own ways, yet still we’ll probably get pregnant again somehow.”

Brandon is a supportive husband

Kelly hosted the 2018 Billboard Music Awards last year—a very exciting milestone in the singer’s entertainment career. Her husband was there to cheer her on, right in the front row, along with stepdaughter Savannah. This was a somewhat rare appearance for Brandon, as he’s kept a generally low profile in the past and isn’t often seen with Kelly on the red carpet.

However, he does occasionally step on stage during her shows. Kelly was belting out her hit, “Piece by Piece” at recent concert on her Meaning of Life tour. The song is already emotional for Kelly, as she wrote it about her estranged father who recently passed away.

That said, you can imagine her reaction when Brandon snuck out onto the stage while she was singing. Her husband surprised her with a guitar in hand, and quietly took the place of her usual guitarist. When Kelly realized what was happening, she could barely keep it together.

“That’s my amazing husband,” she said as he walked off stage when the song was over.

As Kelly would say, some people wait a lifetime for love like that. 😍

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock Had a Date in the Most Unlikely Place

Kelly Clarkson via Instagram

James Corden knows that Kelly Clarkson and her husband of four years, Brandon Blackstock, are both busy people. That’s why, when he invited the country singer to join him on Carpool Karaoke, he devised a plan to give the couple the date night they deserve. Only, it might not have been as romantic as he’d hoped.

The scheme was put into action on the show, and what went down is hilarious. “Your husband is also your manager,” Corden notes in a clip from the episode, before asking, “Do you get to spend a lot of time together outside of work?” “I think it’s difficult because obviously, I work a lot and I’m a mom. But we try,” Clarkson responds.

Suddenly, Clarkson realizes that something’s fishy about the conversation, and asks, “Is this an intervention?” “I thought maybe we could arrange a date night for you and Brandon right now,” Corden announces. The songwriter seems totally cool about it for a moment, before suddenly exclaiming, “What?!”

After getting Clarkson to move to the backseat, Corden surprises her with a romantic setup-a table, some chocolate-covered strawberries, and a rose in a vase, to be exact. Then, he lets Blackstock into the car, and tells the spouses to pretend that he’s not there. Expectedly, it’s totally awkward, and the star’s hubby starts to nervously discuss “a report from the farm.” The segment ends with Corden joking, “Tell us more about the report from the farm, Brandon. Way to keep it romantic!” At least the couple got to sip on “lovely, sparkling apple juice.”

  • Kelly Clarkson has two kids with her husband, Brandon Blackstock.
  • She is also stepmother to his two children from a previous relationship.
  • Here’s everything you need to know about Kelly’s kids and family—including whether she plans to have more babies.

Kelly Clarkson certainly likes to stay busy. When she’s not coaching on The Voice, the American Idol winner can often be found making new music, on tour performing her hits, or on the set of her new talk show. Kelly also recently announced that she’s headlining a new residency in Las Vegas—as if she didn’t have enough going on already.

But, out of her many responsibilities, there’s a role that means the most to the 37-year-old superstar: being a mom.

When Kelly married her husband, Brandon Blackstock, she not only became his wife, but also a stepmother. Brandon had two children from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth, a health insurance agent. The family has grown even more since then and now Kelly has two children of her own with Brandon.

Although blending families together can be tough, Kelly’s brood appears to have nothing but love and support for one another. Her entire close-knit clan even recently joined her on the red carpet to promote her movie, Ugly Dolls.

The singer is open on social media and her talk show about how much she loves her husband and all four of her kids. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

River Rose Blackstock is Kelly’s first-born.

River Rose is Kelly and Brandon’s first child together. She was born on June 12, 2014, according to Kelly’s Twitter. The singer has written two children’s books inspired by her daughter, River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and River Rose and the Magical Christmas. She told People that River is “very bold, and she’s progressive.”

“She will run a company one day because there’s no way she’s gonna work for anyone,” she told People. “She does not heed advice very well. She’s just very ballsy, which is awesome.”

A perfect example is that River has her sights set on appearing as a guest on her mom’s new talk show. “She’s already asked, is that weird? Like, she’s 5, I’m afraid,” Kelly joked.

Kelly also added that River proudly tells everyone about her famous family. “She just started kindergarten, and people are talking about their parents and she was like ‘Oh, my parents? My mom is Kelly Clarkson and my dad is Brandon,’” she said on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “I’m like, ‘I don’t know if you should say that. You’re gonna hate it in junior high.’”

River might even be following in her mom’s footsteps—though it doesn’t necessarily thrill the singer. Although Kelly featured River in her music videos for “Piece by Piece” and “Broken & Beautiful,” she doesn’t want any her kids to go into music.

She often posts about her horse-riding accomplishments on social media, recently sharing photos and videos from a competition on Instagram.

Kelly is one of Savannah’s number one fans, and has publicly supported her stepdaughter’s hobby on Twitter.

“Oh God, those tubes are gone!” she told Cubby and Carolina in the Morning. “That’s blasphemy. We don’t even speak of it. We’re both fixed in our own ways, yet still we’ll probably get pregnant again somehow…I have the worst pregnancies ever, it can’t happen again!”

How did Kelly and Brandon meet?

Kelly was introduced to Brandon in 2012, at the NFL Superbowl where she was performing. Brandon’s dad, Narvel Blackstock, is Kelly’s manager.

They’d actually known each other since 2006, but Brandon was married at the time to Melissa Ashworth…

“Brandon is my manager’s son. I’ve known him for 6 years but he was married for most of that time,” Kelly told the Mail in 2012. “Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl and he was single…”

All’s well that ends well, right?

Kelly and Brandon’s wedding

Kelly Clarkson’s wedding took place on 20 October 2013, at the picturesque Blackberry Farms in Walland, Tennessee.

Brandon’s kids, then-12-year-old Savannah and 6-year-old Seth, watched on as witnesses. Aww!

You can watch her wedding video on Vimeo. The above pic is a screengrab from the video, which was filmed by Weiss Eubanks Films.

Kelly’s 1st pregnancy

Kelly’s 1st pregnancy was sadly a bit of a rough one. In December 2013, she revealed she’d been vomiting up to 12 times a day ?

River Rose Blackstock

On 12 June 2014, Kelly and Brandon welcomed a daughter named River Rose. Pictured here in 2017, she’s sure growing up to be a cutie!

Kelly’s 2nd pregnancy

It was a complete surprise to everyone when Kelly announced her 2nd pregnancy live on stage during a concert in August 2015.

Not least to Kelly, who had no intention of sharing the news at all. It seems the emotions got to her!

“I was not planning on announcing this, I’m totally pregnant! My makeup artist is backstage hating me. I didn’t want you to think I’m on pills or something,” she told the crowd.

“I would like to apologise to my husband. This was not planned. I’m just so hormonal. Everything is great, I haven’t vomited yet. That’s a win y’all.”

Later in 2015, Kelly had to eat her words. Her extreme morning sickness was back with a vengeance, was actually all-day sickness, and left her extremely dehydrated.

“I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It’s so bad,” she told US news channel CBS.

Remington Alexander Blackstock

On 12 April 2016, Kelly gave birth to her 2nd child, a baby boy named Remington Alexander. Kelly and Brandon have nicknamed him Remy. Pictured here in 2017, isn’t he just adorable?

Kelly Clarkson as a stepmum

Kelly proudly calls Seth and Savannah her step-children, and often refers to her family of 4 kids.

And their mum, Melissa, who has also remarried, couldn’t be happier about it, once telling RadarOnline:

“We have a wonderful relationship. I love Kelly and we get along great, and my husband and I hang out with them all the time.”

She even came to Kelly’s baby shower for River Rose, bringing along a gift, and met the newborn just 2 days after her birth.

This makes us so happy. We’re glad they all get along so well ?

Kelly Clarkson on the reality of motherhood

In early 2018, Kelly hit headlines twice for her divisive views on parenting.

She really mixed opinion when she confessed she was “fine” with using smacking (called ‘spanking’ in the US) in certain situations.

She also faced some backlash for saying that “wine is necessary” when you become a parent. We reckon she’s probably kidding on this last one…
