The flamingo masked singer

The Masked Singer season 2 is already proving to be much more cryptic and difficult than the first time around. With that being said, we’re feeling pretty confident about the identity of the celebrity in the Flamingo getup.

Who is the Flamingo on The Masked Singer?

Right now, we’re almost 100% sure that Adrienne Bailon Houghton is the Flamingo on The Masked Singer.

Let’s begin with one of the clues revealed before season 2 even kicked off: “Taking a vacation from the tropical life.” In June, Adrienne shared a series of photos from her Hawaiian vacation. Plus, she has a house in Malibu, a city that has plenty of surf, sand, and palm trees.

There’s also the color. While many think the “pretty in pink” clue means it’s Pretty In Pink star Molly Ringwald, that seems a little too obvious. But take a look at Adrienne’s Instagram: So. Much. Pink. In fact, last year she flaunted blush-toned home decor for the holidays.

Host Nick Cannon also talked about how the Flamingo has a “leg up on the competition.” As you may already know, Adrienne is well known for her role in Disney’s The Cheetah Girls.

What’s more, her role as a Cheetah Girl is hinted at in the Flamingo’s costume. In 2005, the girl group performed the song “Shake Your Tail Feather” for the animated movie Chicken Little.

Prior to the start of season 2, the Flamingo also shared, “I love this mask as much as I love mascara.” Adrienne’s fans know how much she loves makeup and all things beauty. She frequently shares her favorite tips, tricks, and products on her series All Things Adrienne.

Moving on to the Flamingo’s debut episode, the pink bird flaunted books in her bedroom, which included Little Women and one that said “Spanish” on the front of it. Adrienne speaks Spanish and was in the girl group 3LW, which stands for “3 Little Women.”

To convince you even more on this theory, Adrienne is a talk show host on The Real … which is on Fox, the same network of The Masked Singer. On top of that, we know that among the season 2 contestants there are 69 Emmy nominations. Adrienne’s talk show has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy seven times. Adrienne herself won the award for “Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host” in 2018.

Oh, and one more thing: Adrienne’s husband, Israel Houghton, recently released the song “Secrets,” which has the lyric, “Your truth will unmask us and love us the same.”

Hmm … all things are pointing to you, Adrienne. Reveal yourself!

Who is the Flamingo: Adrienne Bailon Houghton. This multi-hyphenate talent is best known these days as a co-host on “The Real” talk show. But she got her start as a singer back in 1999 after being discovered by Ricky Martin in her church choir.

She was quickly recruited to be part of the girl group 3LW, which had several hits including “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right).” Houghton and her bandmate Kiely Williams starred in the 2003 Disney film “The Cheetah Girls,” alongside Raven-Symone, who competed as the Black Widow on this season of “The Masked Singer.”

The Flamingo sounds just like Houghton, especially on her up-tempo tunes like “Footloose,” which she sang in week 4; “Lady Marmalade” from week 7; and “Go Your Own Way,” which was her solo turn in the quarter-final.

In one clues video, there are shots of two places that Houghton has connections to: the Eiffel Tower (she married musician Israel Houghton in Paris back in 2016) and the Taj Mahal (“The Cheetah Girls: One World” was set in India).

Houghton and her pals on “The Real” won an Emmy last year. Collectively, “The Masked Singer” celebrities have won 19 of TV’s top honor. And Houghton and her co-hosts recently won a NAACP Image Award, which we see the Flamingo holding.

Both the Flamingo and Houghton speak Spanish.

The Flamingo is completely covered in pink. We know from her Instagram feed that Houghton is obsessed with this color. Indeed, she defied convention and used it for her Christmas decorations last year.

We also know from Instagram that Houghton loves fun in the sun, especially in tropical places which are home to flamingos.

The Flamingo says she loves her mask almost as much as mascara. Houghton is a beauty expert and has a YouTube series “All Things Adrienne” in which she gives advice. The clues video references this via the word “Zootube.”

Do you think we are right about who is the Flamingo? We won’t know until the Flamingo is unmasked. That will happen when she is eliminated or wins season 2 of “The Masked Singer.” Do you think we are right that the Flamingo is Adrienne Bailon Houghton? Have your say in the comments section below.

Adrienne Bailon Houghton was the Flamingo on ‘The Masked Singer’ until the very end. HL spoke with the talk show host about how performing in the costume helped her lose 25 pounds, lying to her co-hosts, and more.

Adrienne Bailon Houghton came in third place on The Masked Singer season 2. The 36-year-old wowed us every week with her incredible performances as the Flamingo. The extravagant costume featured a long beak and tons of feathers. Adrienne talked with HollywoodLife and admitted that she had to train like an athlete in order to be able to perform at the highest level while wearing the costume. “I was super focused on being in the best condition to do this,” Adrienne told HollywoodLife. “I felt like I had to train like an athlete to have the stamina and have a lack of oxygen inside of a mask. I pretty much felt like I was in a boot camp of some sort. I would wake up in the morning and do 45 minutes of cardio. Even when I came back to The Real and I had lost 25 pounds, people were like, ‘How did you lose the weight?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, I do follow a vegan diet. I do exercise.’ But I have to be honest, a big part of it was definitely shooting the show. I lost maybe the initial 15 to 20 during the show. The way you sweat inside of that costume, I was losing like a pound after every performance.”

In each of her performances as the Flamingo, Adrienne really moved around the stage and showed off her dance moves. “I knew when I picked my costume I wanted it to be something fun,” she said. “I was very specific about the fact that I definitely wanted to be a character that danced and I wanted to be challenged with choreography. It was important to me that I had a costume that I could move in.”

Throughout her time filming the show, keeping everything top secret was a priority. Adrienne revealed that only her mother, her husband, her assistant, and her management team knew that she was even on the show. “For everyone else, it was like a major lie and I feel like I was honestly very antisocial during the filming time. I didn’t go out to dinners and I missed a bunch of things because I just felt like I couldn’t go out and lose my voice or be talking too much.” Not even her fellow co-hosts of The Real knew!

“They had no idea until the ‘Lady Marmalade’ promo went out and it was on Instagram and people were sending it to them,” Adrienne continued. “Then they definitely cornered me on the show and were like, ‘Don’t lie, are you the Flamingo?’ I was like, ‘Absolutely not. I would never lie to you. I keep it real.’ And then two months later, ‘Hi guys, just kidding, I’m the Flamingo.’”

Adrienne also gave an inside glimpse into how the clues are chosen for each celebrity contestant. “We actually sit down with producers and we tell them our lives,” Adrienne said. “We tell them about things that our fans might know and things that they might not know or things that only die-hard fans know. Like the fact that Ricky Martin handpicked me out of my church choir to do a performance with him at Madison Square Garden. It’s little things like that. If you’re a true, true fan, you would notice. And then, obviously, the cheetah clues.”

The talk show host gushed that The Masked Singer was “hands down, honestly, the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire career. It was challenging. It was fun. It was emotional. I was facing my fear. There’s a freedom that comes from putting on that mask and trying to do things that you never would.” As for who Adrienne would love to see do the show next, she said: “I would love to see Tamera do the show. I think she’d be super awesome. I also think Amber Riley from Glee would be a powerhouse.” The Masked Singer will return for season 3 after the Super Bowl on Feb. 2, 2020.

“What If” lyrics

Maybe this was meant to be
Maybe now it should be me
Been dreaming of this forever
But I’m feeling so confused
It’s hard to see what’s right
Between you and I
And I don’t know what to do

Oh. We’ll stay together always is the promise we made
But suddenly it’s not so clear
And I’m being pulled both ways
And it’s breaking my heart, tearing me apart
It’s impossible to choose
What if I don’t try,
What if I do
Everything that I’ve dreamed right in front of me
If I win what would I lose
How can I learn to live wondering what if
Oh ooh. Things will never be the same
No no, maybe that’s the price of fame
Been waiting for this forever
It’s close enough for me to touch
But if I don’t go for it, I might always regret
But is it worth us breaking up

Oh. We’ll stay together always is the promise we made
But suddenly it’s not so clear
And I don’t know what to say
And it’s breaking my heart, tearing me apart
It’s impossible to choose
What if I don’t try,
What if I do
Everything that I’ve dreamed right in front of me
If I win what would I lose
How can I learn to live wondering,
What if I would have tried, I could shine even fly
I don’t want to realize after it’s too late no ooh,
And see it all pass me by,
If I could, if I don’t, will I ever really know,
What the future could hold, before it slips away
Could be the chance of a lifetime
And it’s breaking my heart, tearing me apart,
It’s impossible to choose
What if I don’t try, what if I do
Every dream that I dreamed, right in front of me
If I win, what would I lose
How could I learn to, live wondering what if
I’m never want to say, what if

Listen to Hannah Rae’s interview with Adrienne here!

HANNAH RAE: It’s the Jim Brickman show, you’re here with Hannah Rae, and as the resident millennial of our show, it pretty much goes without saying that The Cheetah Girls were an essential part of my childhood, so I am seriously, like, over the moon, could not be more excited about our next guest, Adrienne Bailon Houghton! Hi Adrienne, how are you?

ADRIENNE BAILON HOUGHTON: Hi! Thank you, Hannah, that was an awesome intro!

HR: Well, it truly comes from the heart, I’m very excited to be doing this interview with you today.

ABH: I appreciate that, thank you so much.

HR: So, first of all, congratulations on your Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host of The Real, that’s incredible!

The cast of The Reel winning big!

ABH: Thank you so much! Can’t believe it. I mean, if anybody saw our acceptance speech, we clearly were floored, did not expect to win at all, but felt so honored and we’re just super excited to go into season five as Emmy Award winners

HR: I love The Real, it’s so fun, so entertaining.

ABH: Thank you!

HR: So what other projects do you have going on right now?

ABH: I just launched my YouTube channel! Super excited about that. It’s called All Things Adrienne, and it is all things beauty, entertainment, fashion, yeah! And I don’t really know how to explain how excited I am about it, mainly because I allow people to come into my home, we’ve done a house tour on there, makeup tutorials, some fun entertainment tips, how to throw a good fiesta, which I’m pretty known for in these parts of town, but really it’s just so great to be able to connect with my fans even more and let them see another part of me.

HR: You started off as a singer/dancer, obviously, before any of the hosting or any of your appearances on reality shows…what first attracted you to dance in the first place?

ABH: I grew up with a lot of music in my home. So we were always dancing, singing, I was a part of every play in my community, so I just really was attracted to the arts in general and literally dancing for me is an outlet, it keeps me awake sometimes, if I’m bored you can find me in a corner dancing, and um… for me, it’s just nostalgic! For me growing up in my household we always were dancing, there was always music on, and it was just a part of my life. How I get up in the morning, I stand up and I start dancing.

Maybe this was meant to be
Maybe now it should be me
Been dreaming of this forever
But I’m feeling so confused
Yeah
It’s hard to see what’s right
Between you and I
And I don’t know what to do
Oh.
We’ll stay together always is the promise we made
But suddenly it’s not so clear
And I’m being pulled both ways
And it’s breaking my heart, tearing me apart

Some facts: It’s 2019, a reality star is quite literally president of the United States, and The Masked Singer is the show that we, as Americans, deserve. Full of criminally insane D-listers cosplaying as eggs, trees (Scarlett Johansson, is that you?!), and other inanimate objects that would like to be removed from this narrative, season 2 of FOX’s deranged competition might be what ends me. And my cause of death will be this GIF:

Giphy

Yet despite having the Egg suck the literal life out of me like some sort of hard-boiled Dementor, I have survived yet another day and am here to talk about THE FLAMINGO. I believe it was Shakespeare who once said, “The Flamingo is clearly Adrienne Bailon from Cheetah Girls,” and he appears to have been correct. At least, that’s the prevailing fan theory on Twitter, and the evidence adds up, so let’s get right into it.

Giphy

Exhibit A: this trailer

The internet didn’t even need to see the Flamingo’s full performance to know Adrienne was lurking underneath those feathers. This trailer leading up to the season premiere was enough to go on:

If you peep the comments section, you’ll find a bunch of Adrienne conspiracy theorists who are inexplicably just as into The Masked Singer as I am (god help us). Behold:

“Oh yeah, that’s Adrienne. The first second she started singing, I was like, ‘You can’t fool me.’” “Yeah, it is Adrienne…any Cheetah Girls 3LW fan recognizes her voice.” “That’s totally Adrienne! I heard it the moment she started singing.”

Exhibit B: Adrienne’s The Real appearance

So, somewhat hilariously, Adrienne showed up on The Real and tried to deny being on The Masked Singer. “I’m not the only short person,” she said, while everyone was just all:

Giphy

“I thought it was maybe Ally Brooke,” she continued, “but she’s doing Dancing With the Stars.”

Adrienne suggesting Ally was maybe the Flamingo on The Masked Singer dkdkkdk bitch we know it’s you pic.twitter.com/ulzeOMzpzL

— keke (@lovebotknowles) September 27, 2019

Naturally, everyone was just all, YOU SIT ON A BED OF LIES, ADRIENNE!

So @AdrienneBailon really up here lying on a show called “The Real” about her not being the flamingo. 🙄🙄🙄 girlllll let’s not act like the masked singer is not recorded in advanced… It’s you and every cheetah girl know it. 😂😂😂 #TheReal

— daniii cordova (@CordovaDaniii) September 26, 2019

Adrienne is on The Real lying! That was definitely her cheetah-licious ass in the flamingo costume on #maskedsinger

— Jae🌸✨ (@Jae_Jacobs_) September 26, 2019

Adrienne is saying that she is not the flamingo on The Masked Singer… ok!!!!!

— Jason’s Lyric (@JRzthoughts) September 26, 2019

And Twitter has only gotten more obsessed as the weeks have gone on:

Flamingo is Adrienne Bailon I’m 100% sure #maskedsinger

— ✨ Eddikah ✨ (@ErikaRee) November 7, 2019

Flamingo is Adrienne Bailon. She hated the sound of her voice when she was younger because she sounded younger than she actually was. #MaskedSinger

— Jae Santi (@TheJaeSanti) November 7, 2019

But get this: The Flamingo recently revealed she won a NAACP Image Awards, and yep, ADRIENNE HAS ONE.

Okay, but there *are* some other theories

All of them are wrong, but apparently, some folks think the Flamingo is Katy Perry (right, sure, because she’d definitely sign on to do this show!):

Masked singer guesses:
Thingamajig: Wayne Brady
The Fox: Jeremy Renner
The Eagle: Brett Michael’s
The Skeleton: Stephen King
The Flamingo: Katy Perry
The Butterfly: Ke$ha#TheMaskedSinger #myguess

— The Box Ghost 🔆🔆 (@whatever0204) September 23, 2019

Then there are the Jade from Victorious (aka Elizabeth Gillies) truthers:

The flamingo in the masked singer sounds like Jade from Victorious

— ✨🐆✨ (@ddooneel) September 23, 2019

And finally, this clearly confused person who thinks the Flamingo is Christina Aguilera. Which…honey, no:

I miss Dr. Ken. Also love The Masked Singer, I think Kim K is the leopard and Christina A the Flamingo. Can’t wait to find out! I’ll be watching @FreshOffABC !

— Denise Dillon (@daisyblue57) September 16, 2019

But aside from that, everyone thinks the Flamingo is Adrienne because, duh, the evidence speaks for itself!

We are convinced that the Flamingo is Adrienne Bailon Houghton, a co-host on the talk show “The Real.” She came to fame as part of two girl groups, 3LW and the Cheetah Girls. The latter were showcased in a series of Disney Channel movies.

On her first appearance on “The Masked Singer,” the Flamingo covered the Jonas Brothers hit “Sucker.” While the judges praised her singing, it was her dancing that really moved them. Adrienne is well-known for being able to bust a few moves.
