Target toy sale 2017

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

July is a BIG month for clearance deals! It is one of the best months for saving at Target. Here are some of the sales and clearance deals you can expect to find at Target in July. In listing the major clearance deals that will happen in certain departments, but really almost every department will have some great clearance deals this month.

Toy Clearance: One of the biggest deals at Target in July is probably the 70% off toy clearance. Toward the end of July, Target marks down a nice selection of clearance toys to 70% off. They do this in order to make room for the new toys that are coming for the holiday season. You can learn more about the Target 70% off toy clearance HERE. The markdown usually takes place the last week of July.

Remember, most stores markdown their toys on Thursdays, so that is the day the markdown will probably take place. There is no guarantee which day it will happen, it’s just a “wait and see” kind of thing. I will be posting lots of information regarding the clearance sale throughout July in order to keep you informed. Make sure you “like” All Things Target on Facebook to stay up-to-date on this big sale. I already have a post up sharing some of the Target toys that are part of the clearance this year.

If I had to make a guess, I would say that the markdown might take place on Thursday, August 1st. We’ll keep an eye on things and give you updates as the end of the month draws closer.

Summer Clearance: Another great section that goes on clearance is the summer section. All of the items they brought in for summer will get marked down in July. These items should go as low as 90% off!! Check out this post for a peek at some of the items that will be included in the summer clearance. This clearance should also include the 4th of July items, the lemonade and the camping items from the Target Dollar Spot.

Last year, Target did something unusual and marked down the entire summer section with yellow clearance stickers. This was not normal, this section has always been treated like a holiday line in previous years. I am hoping we won’t see a similar type of markdown this year, but we will have to wait and see. These are the types of sales that I use to stock up on items to give as gifts. Think ahead and buy things for teacher gifts, party favors and more. This markdown generally happens the last two weeks of July. In some areas it may happens sooner because they need this section to stock school supplies.

Patio & Garden Clearance: The remaining patio furniture and garden clearance should go down to 70% off sometime in July. Last year many people saw these items go to 70% off the first week in July, but our store just marked things down this week so I don’t see that happening for me anytime soon.. You can get a peek at some of the patio and outdoor items I found on clearance at my store. They need to clear out the department so they can make room for all the school supplies.

Baby Clearance We should also see some baby items, like car seats , strollers, bedding and more get marked down to 50-70% off during the month of July. Last year, most stores reported the 70% off markdown happening the last week of July. If you want to check this department each week the best day to go will be Monday, because that is usually when the markdowns in the baby department happen. You can check our guide for what days all of the markdowns happen in each department.

Clothing & Shoes Clearance – We see a larger amount of clearance in the clothing and shoe department due to the fact that they will now be bringing in clothing for fall and winter.

School Supplies: July is a great time to buy school supplies! We should see some great sales as well as coupons for school supplies that can even translate to FREE items. Soon, we will add a school supplies section to our weekly coupon match-ups to keep you posted on all the best back-to-school deals.

Target Deal Days: Get ready! Target will be going head to head with Amazon on Prime Day and offering Target Deal Days online at This big 2-day sale will happen July 15th and 16th, and they say this will be their biggest sale of the summer! Let’s hope this is true and we all score some amazing deals! You can expect to find sale prices on the following items:

  • Items that rarely go on sale
  • Exclusive home
  • Apparel
  • Toy brands

There will be discounts on hundreds of thousands of items and new deals each day. There is no membership required to take advantage of this sale. If you are a REDcard holder, you’ll save an extra 5% off and get FREE shipping on everything. If you don’t currently have a REDcard, you can sign up today. We’ll will make sure to share even more details about the sale as soon as they release more information.

Teacher’s event: Great news for Teachers! Once again, Target is having a Teacher Prep Event. Teachers can score a coupon for 15% off school supplies, storage, apparel and more. This time the deal includes items from Bullseye playground. In order to get your coupon, you’ll need to head to this page at and follow the link to enter your teacher ID. More Than Magic: Target is introducing a brand new lifestyle brand for tween girls called More than Magic. This new line will be available in-store and online on July 13th. You’ll find over 500 items for tween girls between ages 8-12. This collection will include super cute apparel, accessories, bath & beauty, tech and more. You’ll find lots of fun items priced between $.99-$29.99. This brand will change with the seasons which means it will be sticking around.

With so many departments clearing things out we will see lots of brand new items at Target too. The Dollar Spot will be re-stocked with school supplies and more. I love, love, love shopping Target in July (or any month really)!!

What Barbie Dreamhouse Black Friday Discounts are We Predicting for 2019?

The Barbie Dreamhouse was a hit toy last year, being one of the most demanded christmas toys. Since then, a second model has been released in the summer of 2018 and we think this is likely to be equally as popular. But what Black Friday Barbie Dreamhouse discounts are we expecting to see?

This will all depend on the model. The older dreamhouse has experienced discounts of up to 35% in the past, so we think deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday could be around this mark. Given how new the most recent Barbie Dreamhouse model is, there is not much data on which to make a prediction. There haven’t yet been any sales periods so we will just have to wait and hope for some Barbie Dreamhouse Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal news!

We will be posting any updates we find right here.

What’s The Barbie Dreamhouse All About?

The Barbie Dreamhouse is a 3 story, seven-bedroom house with a working elevator, a pool, and more than 70 accessories. This modern version of the Barbie Dreamhouse even comes with a fold-out section to add your smartphone (sold separately) to create a “flat screen” TV* so that you can relax watching your favorite content, and ‘smart features’ like a toilet and sink which make sounds when activated.

Other really cool features include fish tank which makes bubble sounds when plugged in and a garage door which flips open and closed. The garage can be used for Barbie’s car – which is sold separately – or you can get creative and make it into a games room!

What’s New in the 2019 Model?

The latest Barbie Dreamhouse was released in the summer of 2018 and features and updated design and feel. The basic concept is still the same – it’s a 3ft tall, 4ft wide Barbie dolls house, but the furniture inside is more contemporary and stylish. It looks more realistic and less plasticy, plus the color scheme is a little less ‘in your face pink’, with more purple and baby blue used.

Additional features on this latest model include an awesome slide coming off the side leading into a pool that can be filled with water, and a redesigned working elevator! It’s also really versatile with lot’s to discover. For example, the couch pops up into a bunk bed and coffee table flips over into another bed – great for slumber parties. The fireplace also spins around to convert a home office into a den!

The Barbie Dreamhouse is predicted to be one of the top 100 toys last year, so we think there’s a good chance for Barbie Dreamhouse Black Friday deals to crop up. If you are looking to buy Barbie Dreamhouse as a gift and you don’t want them to guess what it is before opening the box, then consider getting the ‘special packaging’ option which comes with minimal markings on the box in order to preserve the surprise.

Target got rid of kid-sized shopping carts after a backlash from shoppers who ridiculed them as irritating and even demonic.

Target (TGT) introduced the kiddie carts in a handful of stores last year and expanded the test in New York and Minnesota last month. But they didn’t last long. In fact, they’re already gone.

The backlash gained steam when Laura Rinas, a Minneapolis mother who writes the blog Laughing Without Limits, wrote that the newly introduced “vehicle of mass destruction” ruined her otherwise “magical” shopping experience at Target.

Last week she started a movement called Moms Against Stupid Tiny Carts. Other shoppers quickly joined in. The anger seemed to stem from the recklessness of the carts’ diminutive drivers.

“My ankles are bruised from this,” Sarah Jean Knox wrote on Twitter. “I’m looking at you @Target.”

“I share this mom’s struggle!” Kara Stemig wrote. “BAN ALL KID CARTS!”

Dear @Target re: kids carts – LOSE THEM or lose me as a customer.

— J.C. (@jcline35) September 17, 2016

“Yes: So glad those demon mini carts are gone from Target,” Sally Nankivell said in a tweet after the Target announcement. “Their drivers were a menace.

Not everyone was happy to see them go. Other parents tweeted photos of their toddlers happily steering and loading up their little carts.

Target removed the carts because of repeated complaints and is trying to figure out what to do with them, spokeswoman Molly Snyder said. Target will still offer carts for children with special needs, which it introduced last year.

Rinas later wrote that she received some social media backlash of her own.

“Did I deserve comments that called me lazy, that called my kids zombies, that decided I was some selfish sloth that decided to make life hard for everyone because I didn’t get my way at a store that owes me nothing?” she wrote.

She was also surprised how many people picked up on her blog. She told CNNMoney that she went from 10 readers to 250,000.

“I am still taken aback by the response the blog has had, as well as any influence it may have had in Target’s decision,” she said in an email. “Apparently it resonated with lots of people!”

CNNMoney (New York) First published September 23, 2016: 11:16 AM ET

Target removes ‘nightmare’ kids’ carts that shoppers called ‘vehicles of mass destruction’

Target has removed mini shopping carts from stores. Jessica Rinaldi/Reuters Target has removed hundreds of kid-sized shopping carts from its stores after some shoppers declared them a “nightmare.”

The company rolled out the mini carts to 72 stores in August, hoping that they would entertain Target’s youngest guests — and, in turn, please its core demographic of shoppers: parents.

But the shopping carts turned out to be a spectacular failure for many parents.

Kids went wild with the carts, dumping shelves of merchandise into them and slamming them into other shoppers at top speed, bruising their ankles, The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

—Trevor Mason (@Trev_A_M) August 29, 2016

One blogger called the carts “vehicles of mass destruction” and said they turned her previously “magical” shopping experience at Target into “madness.”

She called her post, which has been viewed more than 230,000 times, “MASTC” for “Mothers Against Stupid Tiny Carts.”

The carts were rolled out at 50 stores in Minnesota and 22 stores in New York. Many other shoppers complained about them as well, according to the Star-Tribune.

“They make shopping trips into torture!” shopper Lizzy Charles wrote on Facebook. “Especially with three kids, all wanting their own tiny cart, triple the headache. Or fighting over one! I abandoned purchasing anything and focused on survival.”

Not all shoppers hated the carts, however. Many said they made shopping with kids easier.

One parent wrote on Facebook that the carts were “great for keeping the kids busy and motivated to help out.” Another said his child burst into tears when they visited Target this week and noticed that the carts had been removed.

But the critics were greater in number, so Target decided to remove them from stores after a few short weeks of availability, the company said.

“At Target, our guests are at the center of everything we do, and we value their feedback,” Target spokeswoman Kristy Welker told Business Insider. “We briefly tested kiddie carts at 72 Target stores, and after reviewing guest and stores feedback, we have made the decision to stop the test.”
