Princess beatrice and eugenie

Given the recent news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to remove themselves as “senior” members of the royal family and work towards gaining financial independence, many royals fans are wondering if that means Meghan and Harry will get jobs like the rest of us. And while it might sound like a joke, it’s actually not unheard of for members of the royal family to have careers outside of the palace walls.

For example, despite their esteemed family tree, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie do not receive checks from Sovereign Grant, the government-supported fund that finances Queen Elizabeth II’s official duties (Prince Harry currently receives income from the Grant, but would no longer once he is a part-time member). Here’s how the two York sisters spend their days when they’re not attending royal events:

Princess Beatrice

WPA PoolGetty Images

Both of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s children are not “working royals”, or members of the royal family who perform public engagements full-time, like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. So although Princess Beatrice still attends events like Royal Ascot and Trooping the Color, she has no obligation or intention to match the 507 engagements Prince Charles conducted last year as the future king. The distinction also means she no longer received full-time security as of 2011.

Related Story

Instead, Princess Beatrice has used her BA in History from Goldsmiths to work in finance and consulting. Most recently, she’s worked at venture capital firm Sandbridge and later software company Afiniti, where she is currently employed as the Vice President of Partnerships & Strategy.

“Beatrice is responsible for the management of the strategic Afiniti partnerships as well as company growth through unique initiatives and client development,” her company bio reads. The Duke of York’s website simply states she “works full-time in business.”

In addition to her career, Princess Beatrice serves as a patron to many nonprofits. She’s a global ambassador to Street Child, the nonprofit founded by her mother in 1993. She also works with the Big Change Charitable Trust, the Teenage Cancer Trust, and the Berkshire Community Foundation, among other organizations.

Princess Beatrice still receives monetary assistance from her family, mind you. Prince Andrew “supports both of his daughters financially from his private income,” according to his website. The Duke earns a Royal Navy pension, but his expenses get paid by the Queen’s private income. The Sovereign Grant — a.k.a. the revenue from the Crown Estate, which includes the royal palaces and other properties — funds his official travel within the United Kingdom.

Princess Eugenie

Just like her older sister, Princess Eugenie will never need to worry about money thanks to the wealth and support of her family. The 29-year-old continues to pursue a career in the art world with her father’s firm backing though.

“As a father, my wish for my daughters is for them is to be modern working young women, who happen to be members of the Royal Family, and I am delighted to see them building their careers,” the Duke of York said in a statement in 2016. “When they do support the Royal Family in its work this is very much appreciated by my Family and most importantly by those organizations and to those for whom their participation makes such a difference.”

Besides her many charitable endeavors, Princess Eugenie used her art history and English literature degrees from Newcastle University to first work for an online auction firm before becoming a director at the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

Her parents recently helped her out with one really big expense: her wedding to Jack Brooksbank last October. Both the Duke and Duchess of York and the Brooksbank family reportedly paid for the lavish multi-day event, with the Queen also likely contributing from her private income. British taxpayers footed the bill for the security costs, however, which cost between $500,000 and $2 million.

Her new husband also works, but in the hospitality industry. Jack Brooksbank serves as the European ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila co-created by George Clooney in 2013. Prior to his promotional gig, he worked as the manager at Mahiki, a popular London nightclub frequented by royals like Prince Harry. The couple currently lives in Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace — just two miles from Eugenie’s gallery. Now that’s a sweet commute!

You might think that Princess Beatrice of York has nothing better to do than shop for fabulous hats all day and go on dates with her multi-millionaire property developer boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, every night, but believe it or not, the 30-year-old actually is more than just a socialite. Yes, Beatrice may attend garden parties and the annual Trooping the Colour (and she may regularly go on vacations with her celebrity pals, like Karlie Kloss and Ellie Goulding), but unlike her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, Beatrice and her younger sister Eugenie aren’t ‘working royals,’ which means their calendars aren’t filled with obligatory engagements from the queen.

Unfortunately for them, this also means they’re not supported by the Sovereign Grant, also known as the revenue from the Crown Estate, which includes the royal palaces and other properties. This tax-funded salary is given annually to fund the queen and other royals in their official duties, including the girls’ father, Prince Andrew. However, we think the sisters are doing okay money-wise. It is made clear on Prince Andrew’s website that he helps his daughters out with rent, stating that he “supports both of his daughters financially from his private income.”

The sisters also have enormous trust funds to help support them (according to The Telegraph, £1.4 million of their mom Sarah Ferguson’s £3 million divorce settlement was set up a trust for the princesses, not to mention the money they’ll eventually come into from the queen). But even if she doesn’t necessarily need the money, what does Beatrice do all day if she’s not shaking hands and attending events?

Though Beatrice struggles with dyslexia, she certainly hasn’t let that hold her back from pursuing her career goals. In 2011, the princess earned her degree in history and history of ideas from Goldsmiths College in London, and now she’s living the busy life of a working woman, splitting her time between London and New York City. Besides supporting several charitable organisations, Beatrice has added an impressive number of job titles to her resume over the years, a rare feat for a royal. As she pointed out in an interview with Vogue, “We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses, and doing all of this in the public eye.”

In the past, Beatrice has worked as an actress (in 2009 she became the first royal to appear in a non-documentary film, The Young Victoria, where she had a small non-speaking role) and as a research analyst for her mother’s charity, Children in Crisis. She also has experience working as an associate at Sandbridge Capital (a small investment firm), and later for Sony Pictures as a business development associate. Currently the princess works for Afiniti, a US-based technology company. According to the Afiniti website, Beatrice serves as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy, responsible for manageing client development and company growth.

What does the royal family think of Beatrice being a modern working woman? Her father Andrew couldn’t be prouder. “As a father, my wish for my daughters is for them is to be modern working young women, who happen to be members of the Royal Family,” he said back in 2016, “and I am delighted to see them building their careers.”

PRINCESS Eugenie will marry her fiancé Jack Brooksbank TODAY – and with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day feeling like forever ago, we couldn’t be more excited.

With the Royal Wedding upon us, you might be wondering what 28-year-old Eugenie does for a living or how she keeps things ticking over financially, here’s the lowdown.

What does Princess Eugenie do for a living?

Neither Princess Eugenie nor her older sister, 29-year-old Princess Beatrice, are responsible for carrying out public duties – unlike their first cousins Prince William and Prince Harry.

That said, both sisters represented the Queen at the former Hanoverian royal palace for an event in the past.

Eugenie actually works as an associate director for the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in London.

In June 2018, Eugenie told her 323,000 Instagram followers that she has “recently become an Abassador” for charity “Project 0 whose aim is to restore and protect the ocean.”

What jobs has she done in the past?

Eugenie studied a combined degree of Art History, English Literature and Politics at Newcastle University, before graduating in 2012.

In 2013, she moved to New York to work for the online auction firm Paddle8 as a benefit auctions manager.

The princess returned in 2015 and began working in London for the Hauser & Wirth art gallery – where she still works today.

Eugenie has also taken on charity engagements in the past, including with Teenage Cancer Trust, Children in Crisis and Elephant Family.

The charities are those which her mother Sarah Ferguson also supports.

Eugenie and sister Beatrice also paired up with a graffiti artist known as Teddy M to create the first ever Royal Graffiti – Royal Love.

What is her net worth?

Eugenie, who is eighth in line to the throne, has an estimated net worth of £3.6 million.

The amount is only a fraction less than Meghan Markle’s net worth, which is £3.7 million.

The majority of Eugenie’s fortune comes from trust funds set up by her grandmother the Queen.

Both princesses were also awarded a trust fund as a result of their parents’ highly-publicised divorce.

In contrast, Beatrice’s wedding will be a much smaller affair and won’t be televised.

“I feel very sorry for Beatrice because I don’t think she would have wanted it broadcast anyway,” Angela said.

“They are completely different sisters. Beatrice is the elder more subdued, quieter, more serious, shyer sister.

“Eugenie is far more outgoing and sociable so she potentially would have wanted her wedding broadcast.

In contrast to other members of her family, Beatrice would prefer a quiet life and a small wedding.

“She was also the one who wore the wedding dress that showed off her scoliosis scar and she wants to talk about her life, Beatrice doesn’t.

“She’s the opposite of her mother really. Fergie was always in the limelight and Beatrice is almost this throwback where she wants a quiet life.

“She would love nothing better apparently than to go off with her fiancé to Italy and have a quiet little wedding in a Tuscan villa.”

The comments come after the UK’s ITV channel confirmed it wouldn’t broadcast Beatrice’s wedding.

The BBC had confirmed in early January it will not be showing full live coverage of the royal wedding and will instead offer “news coverage of the wedding across our services”, rather than a live link replacing normal programming.

This 1 Move By Princess Eugenie Has Royal Watchers Convinced She Is Expecting Her First Baby With Jack Brooksbank

Is Princess Eugenie expecting her first baby with Jack Brooksbank? The couple has faced pregnancy rumors ever since they tied the knot in 2018, and royal watchers are now convinced that Eugenie is on the verge of a big announcement. So why do fans believe Eugenie and Jack are about to start a family together?

Princess Eugenie drops subtle pregnancy hint

Eugenie and Jack exchanged vows in October of last year inside St. George’s Chapel. The couple celebrated their first anniversary a few months back and the pregnancy rumors are now reaching a fever pitch.

Last week, Princess Eugenie and Jack enjoyed lunch with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, and photos from the event have officially sent fans into a frenzy.

— Starlight Ultrasound (@StarlightScans) December 20, 2019

The two looked thrilled to be having a Christmas lunch with Her Majesty (who wouldn’t), and their bright demeanor sparked rumors that they might be hiding some exciting news.

According to Express, Princess Eugenie and Jack later attended an engagement party for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, though they evaded the cameras for that event. The fact that no photos emerged of the couple left fans wondering if Eugenie was avoiding pictures because of her baby bump.

Was Eugenie hiding her baby bump?

Buckingham Palace refused to comment on why Princess Eugenie and Jack were not photographed at the engagement party. It is widely believed that they attended the party, however, we just don’t know why the refused to take photos.

To add to the conspiracy, all of the photos released from the couple’s afternoon engagement only showed them from the shoulders up. There could be a totally normal explanation for this, but fans are convinced that Eugenie is hiding a growing baby bump.

Betting agencies in the U.K. have also increased the odds that Princess Eugenie will be making a baby announcement in the near future. She is now the most likely royal to have a baby in the coming year, followed closely by Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

There has also been a lot of talk about Kate having her fourth child with Prince William and Meghan having her second with Prince Harry in 2020. None of the rumors, of course, have been confirmed, but that has not stopped fans from speculating.

Was there another reason we didn’t see Princess Eugenie?

Although fans are convinced that Eugenie was hiding a baby bump, there may have been another reason why she was not photographed at the engagement party.

It is possible that Eugenie was helping Beatrice set things up before the event started, which would explain why she was not spotted arriving with the rest of the royal family.

Unfortunately, we won’t know for sure unless the royals release a statement, which is unlikely to happen. We don’t even know if Princess Eugenie was at the event, though inside sources say she wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Other royals who were spotted at the event include Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, and her brother, James Middleton.

When might Eugenie announce her pregnancy?

If the rumors are true, then Princess Eugenie will likely announce the pregnancy well before the spring. She and Jack are fully expected to play a big part in Beatrice’s wedding, which is believed to be scheduled for the spring.

The wedding will likely be a good time to see Eugenie’s baby bump, though an exact date for the ceremony has not been confirmed. Queen Elizabeth is expected to make the date official sometime next month.

While we did not get to see Princess Eugenie at Beatrice’s engagement party, their mother, Sarah Ferguson, was photographed at the event. Their father, Prince Andrew, however, did not make an appearance.

He reportedly made it to lunch with Queen Elizabeth, though we do not know why he failed to appear at his daughter’s engagement party.

Prince Andrew recently stepped away from his royal duties in light of his scandal with Jeffrey Epstein. Although he did not make the engagement, he is believed to be set to appear with the royal family, along with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice at Sandringham for Christmas — which will probably stir up even more drama.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have some new neighbors. Princess Eugenie and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank have reportedly moved right next door to Nottingham Cottage, and now live in Ivy Cottage within Kensington Palace.

People confirmed the news this morning, sharing that the happy couple moved to the three bedroom home at some point in April. Eugenie had previously been living in an apartment within St. James’s Palace with her sister Princess Beatrice.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank have reportedly become quite close with Prince Harry and Markle over the past few months. According to Andrew Morton’s new biography, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, the two brides-to-be have bonded “over a shared love of art, dogs and late-night macaroni suppers.”

Perhaps they’re also swapping wedding planning tips. Like Harry and Meghan, Eugenie and Jack will marry in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle later this week. Their marriage celebration will even feature nods to their new home, including sugared ivy on their wedding cake.

In addition to being nearby Meghan and Harry, Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will also be a short distance away from Prince William, Duchess Kate and the kids, making it easy to check in on Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and little Prince Louis.

Moving in to Ivy Cottage marks the first time Princess Eugenie has officially lived with Jack. While living with one’s boyfriend before marriage used to be considered quite taboo, Prince William and Kate Middleton lived together before tying the knot, and, of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared Nottingham Cottage in the months leading up to their May 19 wedding.

In the heart of London, Kensington Palace is nearly as famous as its grander cousin, Buckingham Palace.

While it may not have all the trappings and tradition of the Queen’s HQ, it’s older than the official monarch’s residence and houses at least two heirs.

Currently, Kensington Palace is home to Prince William and Kate Middleton, and their three children Prince Geroge, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry and his new bride Meghan Markle also live there, and it is also the residence of The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke and Duchess of Kent and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

Where do Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank live?

Princess Eugenie is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew, and is engaged to wine merchant Jack Brooksbank.

The couple are due to tie the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle – the same venue where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed – on October 12.

But the couple already live together in Ivy Cottage, one of the apartments within Kensington Palace.

It is thought the betrothed moved into the three-bedroom home in April.

Prior to moving in with her fiancé – previously taboo for royals – Princess Eugenie lived in an apartment in St James’ Palace with her sister, Princess Beatrice.

Where do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live?

Prince Harry has lived in Nottingham Cottage since 2013, taking up residence when his brother and Kate Middleton moved out.

It is the smallest on the royal estate, viewed as a modest starter home for newly-weds.

It is said to feature two bedrooms, two reception rooms, kitchen and bathroom with a small garden.

Despite its small size, one of the reception rooms was designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

His new wife Meghan is rumoured to have virtually moved in during the couple’s whirlwind romance.

It is there Prince Harry proposed to the former actress, while the pair were roasting a chicken.

And now they have tied the knot, the residence will be their first home with the new Duchess of Sussex moving in permanently to start their married life there.

Is Ivy Cottage near Meghan and Harry’s new home?

The two cottages are just a stone’s throw from each other, so the two couples are virtually neighbours.

Town and Country Mag reported the two royal brides have bonded over “a shared love of art, dogs and late-night macaroni suppers.”

Also in the vicinity is the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Prince Edward, 82, cousin of the Queen, and his wife Katharine, 85.

The remainder of the royals live on the other side of the palace.

Where Do Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Live?

Now that Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank have tied the knot many are wondering which royal palace they will call home.

The pair got married on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, in a grand affair at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, which is the same place where Prince Harry’s royal wedding to Meghan Markle was held five months earlier. Eugenie’s wedding was actually larger than her cousin’s as she had 800 guests compared to the 600 guests who attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s nuptials.

There were so many questions leading up to Eugenie’s big day like what the bride would wear and what celebrity guests would attend. Now that those questions have been answered we all want to know where Eugenie and Brooksbank are going to live as a married couple and what other royals will be close by.

Where Eugenie and Brooksbank live now

Eugenie and Brooksbank have actually been living together for the past several months at Ivy Cottage. While living with each other before marriage was once thought to be taboo for the royals both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did so prior to their wedding as did the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank moved into their Kensington Palace digs back in April. The property is a three-bedroom home and is actually larger in size than the current residence Prince Harry and Markle share.

Ivy cottage was previously home to the deputy head of the palace’s property department before he retired a few years ago.

Who are their neighbors?

Of course living at the London palace means that they are neighbors with some of the most famous members of the royal family. They are right next door to Wren Cottage, which is home of the Duke and Duchess of Kent, but they are also a stone’s throw away from Harry and Markle’s Nottingham Cottage.

Eugenie and her husband are close to Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children as well. The family of five live in the four-story, 20-room Apartment 1A at the palace. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been getting renovations on the property and once they are complete, William’s brother and Markle will be moving next door.

Where did Eugenie live before?

Before moving to Ivy Cottage, Eugenie lived with her sister Princess Beatrice at St. James’s Palace in a four-bedroom private apartment.

When she was a child she lived in a 12-bedroom house called Sunninghill Park in Berkshire, which was gifted to her parents by the queen after they tied the knot.

Over the years, Queen Elizabeth II has continued to gift properties to the younger royals after their weddings. She gifted Anmer Hall in Norfolk to Prince William and Kate Middleton following their 2011 nuptials. Then, in May, after Harry and Markle were married she gave them their York Cottage country home as a present. Therefore, she could very well give the princess and Brooksbank another place to call home soon.

How old are Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie?

Princess Beatrice was born on August 8, 1988, making her 30 years old. She’s a Leo.

Beatrice was the first child born to the Duke and Duchess of York, also known as Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

The Duchess gave birth at London’s Portland Hospital for Women and Children, and Beatrice’s full name was announced as Beatrice Elizabeth Mary almost two weeks later.

The couple – who divorced in 1996 – welcomed Princess Eugenie on March 23, 1990.

Her full name is Eugenie Victoria Helena.

She’s an Aries, and is currently 28 years old.

Eugenie was also born at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.

What’s the age difference between Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie?

Princess Beatrice is 19 months older than Princess Eugenie.

The sisters are known to be close, and it’s likely that this is in part due to how similar they are in age.

Before Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank moved to Kensington Palace, she and Beatrice lived together in a four-bedroom apartment at St James’s Palace.

In a 2008 interview with The Telegraph, Eugenie explained why she thinks they’re such good friends.

She said: “We get on fantastically well, perhaps because we do and think different things.

“I am definitely not as polite as Beatrice, I have to say. I tell it as it is. I am shyer at first.

“Like, at a party I will say to Beatrice as we go in: ‘Oh, you go first.’

“But then, when we’re actually in, I am much louder and she is far more polite and solicitous.”

What do Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie do for a living?

Princess Beatrice is vice-president of partnerships and strategy for Afiniti, a US-based technology company.

She received a BA in History and History of Ideas from London’s Goldsmiths College, graduating in 2011 with a 2:1 degree.

Princess Eugenie works as an associate director at contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

She also has a degree, leaving Newcastle University in 2012 with a 2:1 in English Literature and History of Art.

In the sisters’ first ever joint interview in August 2018, Beatrice explained that it’s tough being working royals as there’s no “precedent” or “protocol” for their lives.

She told Vogue: “We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses, and doing all of this in the public eye.”

Eugenie added: “We want to show people who we are as working, young, royal women, but also not to be afraid of putting ourselves out there.

“We’re real.”
