Prince william and kate

Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed a little prince in London this morning, and his siblings, four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte, greeted the newborn at the hospital. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge now have three little ones under the age of five at home, so it’s safe to assume Kensington Palace is about to get a lot busier. Ahead, what we know about the three royal kiddos.

After eleven hours of labor, Kate and William welcomed their firstborn, His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, at 4:24 PM on July 22, 2013 at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in West London. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

The Duke of Cambridge, who was present for the birth of his first son, told reporters, “We could not be happier” on the day of George’s birth. George became third in line to the British throne, after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his father.

Now a four-year-old savage meme king, Prince George is reportedly a little ball of energy (as most four-year-olds are, royalty aside).

On Saturday, May 2, 2015, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge, at the Lindo Wing. William was present at Charlotte’s birth, and the newborn weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth at 8:34 that morning and the couple returned home to Kensington Palace with their little princess that evening.

Charlotte is now the middle child between two brothers, and after the passage of the Succession of the Crown Act in 2015, she became the first female royal to retain her spot as fourth in line for the throne.

The fun-loving two-year-old will celebrate her third birthday next week.

Prince Louis

At 11:01 AM London time (around 6:01 a.m. EST) on Monday, April 23, Kensington Palace sent out the royal announcement we’ve all been waiting for: the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to the much-anticipated royal baby. With the big announcement came the gender reveal, as the palace reported Kate was “safely delivered of a son.” The newborn weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and Prince William was present for the birth. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left the hospital that evening.

Four days after the birth, the couple announced the child’s name, Louis Arthur Charles. His official royal title will be, “His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.” The “of Cambridge” inclusion comes by virtue of the fact that Kate and William are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, so their children’s monikers follow suit, per George and Charlotte’s full names: His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge and Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

Prior to the arrival of Princess Charlotte, the Queen issued a decree to ensure all of Kate and William’s children would be given Prince or Princess titles, according to BAZAAR UK: “All the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales should have and enjoy the style, title, and attribute of royal highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names or with such other titles of honor.” Had the decree not passed, only George would have the title Prince, while Charlotte and the new baby would have been Lady and Lord, respectively. The newborn is the fifth in line for the throne, bumping his uncle Prince Harry to sixth.

We can’t wait to see how Prince Louis adds to the already-adorable royal brother-sister duo.

December 31, 2019 – 13:39 GMT Ainhoa Barcelona The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children have a different surname to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie Harrison

Unlike most male siblings in the UK, Prince William and Prince Harry’s children do not share the same surname – something that is very surprising to many royal followers. This point became even more of a talking point when the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her first child earlier this year. William and Kate’s little ones – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – all have the last name ‘Cambridge’, taking after their dad’s title, the Duke of Cambridge.

What the royal youngsters got up to in 2019

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son was born on 6 May 2019, Buckingham Palace announced that the royal tot had not been issued with a title and would be known as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor – a nod to his great-grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Harry and Meghan with baby Archie on their royal tour of Africa

Members of the royal family traditionally don’t use a surname; they are simply known by their first name or title in the public eye, and His or Her Royal Highness. According to the royal family’s official website, a declaration made by the Queen in Privy Council in 1960, said that male-line descendants of the monarch, without royal styles and titles, shall bear the name Mountbatten-Windsor.

This also reflects both of their last names and differentiates their direct descendants from the rest of the royal family. The website adds: “Unless The Prince of Wales chooses to alter the present decisions when he becomes king, he will continue to be of the House of Windsor and his grandchildren will use the surname Mountbatten-Windsor.”

Kate is a very hands-on mum with her three children

William and Harry grew up with the surname ‘Wales’, using it at school, at university and during their time in the army. William was known as Lieutenant Wales while Harry had the rank of Captain Wales. This is because their father Prince Charles’ title is the Prince of Wales but following their marriages, William and Harry were granted new titles from their grandmother the Queen, and their children are expected to take these on.

Prince George, six, is enrolled as George Cambridge at his school Thomas’s Battersea, where his sister Princess Charlotte, four, started in the reception class in September and is therefore known as Charlotte Cambridge. In a similar vein, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice also use the surname ‘York’ after their father Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

William and Kate’s children all take the surname ‘Cambridge’, following their dad’s title

William and Kate are proud parents to George, Charlotte and baby Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child in April 2018, just three weeks before attending Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Royal fans were delighted when the Sussexes announced they were expecting their first child on the first day of their royal tour of Australia in October 2018 and Archie Harrison was born on 6 May 2019. Now royal watchers are eagerly awaiting a hoped-for new baby announcment in 2020 so little Archie can have a sibling!

Kate Middleton has addressed the rumours that she’s pregnant with her fourth child

Well…

The rumour mill has been working over time lately with regards to the British royal family.

In particular, there has been much talk of royal babies.

Bookies have been slashing the odds on Kate Middleton announcing a pregnancy in 2019.

There’s also been talk of Princess Eugenie welcoming her first child this year.

However, after much talk, Kate has addressed the rumours.

Asked by the crowd at a St Patrick’s Day parade in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, if the Cambridge clan is set to rise to six members, she had a quick response.

Kate responded to shouts of “number four?”, the Daily Express reports.

She said: “I think William would be little worried!”

During a St Patrick’s Day parade in Northern Ireland,Kate was asked if she’s planning to have a fourth baby.

Kate responded to shouts of “number four?”.

She said: “I think William would be little worried!”

Great response.

She didn’t elaborate on the comment, but we reckon she has her hands full with George, Charlotte and Louis for now.

However, people are almost certain that Princess Eugenie will announce a pregnancy this year.

In January, the Princess posted:

“#tbt to exactly this day last year – Jack and I announced our engagement. What a year it’s been since then and how exciting for 2019.”

The comments came in, with countless fans wondering if this was a subtle hint of a pregnancy.

One of Eugenie’s follower replied: “Now all there needs to be is a pregnancy announcement.”

While another commented: “I hope this exciting 2019 means a baby is on the way!”

But now, we have an even bigger clue…

Bookmakers Ladbrokes recently slashed the odds on Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcoming a baby in 2019.

We’ll have to wait and see.

Much has been made about the fact that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to leave life as members of the royal family behind, but there could potentially be some good news on the horizon when it comes to the royals—and they may be able to thank Kate Middleton for it.

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, the Duchess of Cambridge is odds on at 8/11 to announce that she and Prince William will be expanding their family with a fourth child before the end of 2020.

“All eyes might be on Harry and Meghan right now but the Duchess of Cambridge could soon bring attention back to her with another royal baby announcement seemingly imminent,” Alex Apati from the betting agency told Express UK.

The change in betting odds came as Middleton notably skipped out on wearing her sapphire and diamond engagement ring during an official visit to Evelina Children’s Hospital. Eagle-eyed fans began wondering if the ring was off because her fingers were swollen due to pregnancy, but Kensington Palace quickly worked to dispel the rumors by confirming the ring was removed due to potential hygiene hazards.

The rumors also came after Middleton herself addressed the possibility of having a fourth child, indicating that her husband actually didn’t want to expand the family further, and was good stopping at the three children they had.

During a visit with crowds at Khidmat Centre in Bradford, Yorkshire, earlier in January, the Duchess told a fan that she didn’t think her husband wanted to continue expanding their family.

In addition, it has been reported that Middleton herself may not want to have another child due to the changed made in the Succession Act of 2013. The rule requires only the first six heirs for the throne to seek permission from a reigning monarch for marriage. The current lineage has their children as third, fourth and fifth in line for the throne. Depending on who was ruling at the time or how many children Prince George has, a fourth child could be moved down the line of succession and be subjected to a different set of rules from its siblings as a result.

Following the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison, it seems royal babies are on the brain!

Reports and rumours surround the royal family on a daily basis, but the internet has gone into absolute meltdown this week following speculation the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have another royal baby on the way.

According to multiple gossip tabloids, Kate and Prince William are not done having children yet, with sources claiming “a baby is on the way for the radiant royal couple.”

Many royal watchers believe four kids is certainly a possibility for the Duke and Duchess since it’s the same number of children his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, had.

“Prince William reportedly wants to follow Queen Elizabeth II’s footsteps by having four children,” one of William’s friends revealed.

According to British-based betting company Ladbrokes, it’s looking increasingly likely Wills and Kate “will welcome another family member in the near future,” with the odds being slashed from 6/4 from 5/2 we could see Kate and William announce another royal baby is set to join the brood in 2019.

However, after the 37-year-old mum experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which causes extreme morning sickness during her pregnancies she might be happy to stop at three.

Kate Middleton had a pretty relaxed holiday with her kids and Prince William at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate this year, and it seems she wants to keep that cozy family vibe going in 2020. According to sources, she’s hoping she gets to see more of the Sussexes and is really crossing her fingers that her kids get to spend quality time with Baby Archie in particular.

A source told Us Weekly that Middleton is “hoping that in the new year, the cousins will spend more time together” and noted that her kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—”adore” Baby Archie. The source notes that “like most children, they’re easily distracted and resilient,” so they might not be too upset that they didn’t see the seven-month-old baby at Christmas, since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to take their firstborn to Canada to unplug for a few weeks.

But if the source is right, Middleton could be pushing for a kid-filled reunion in the coming months. Prince Louis seems especially fond of the baby: A few cute photos taken at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Match show him wearing sunglasses and looking up happily at his tiny cousin.

It’s been a bit of a rare sight to see all of the family gathered in one place lately. On rumors that Prince Harry and Prince William are feuding, Harry said, “Inevitably, stuff happens. But we’re brothers; we’ll always be brothers.”

The Sussex couple then decided to take a bit of a break from public life to reset and hang out as a family. They rented a house with Markle’s mother Doria Ragland for Christmas on Vancouver Island and have been keeping things pretty low-key. Still, they’re due back in the U.K. soon, which hopefully for Kate Middleton means some adorable family time.
