HOW TO USE

Apply the entire contents of one nügg Hydrating Face Mask pod generously to clean, dry skin, avoiding lips and eye area. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off or removing with a damp washcloth. For excess formula, tape capsule shut and store in a re-sealable bag, using the leftover product within the next few days.

Try this mask as an overnight treatment or a sleeping mask! Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin before bed, leaving it on and washing it off in the morning.

You can also use our hydrating mask as a moisturizing primer under your makeup to help hydrate and protect your skin. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin, as you would with a moisturizer before you continue with makeup application.

Face Mask For Dry Skin or Normal Skin

Blog | Candidly Keri

Hi Friends! Recently I have been super into trying out different face mask since my skin has been break out, tired and dehydrated. I feel like face masks are a quick way to help get my skin to where I want it to be, and its like a 15 minute spa time to myself. I have seen Nugg face mask a lot on Instagram and found out that they are sold at Target so I thought I would give it a try! Below are the 4 that were available and my thoughts on what I tried! On the website there are also packets and 4 day regimen options! All of these products applied in a clear or milky white gel type of texture . They didn’t foam or anything when taking them off which was a little tricky, I would suggest using a wash cloth to help!

Soothing – “Helps to calm, balance & hydrate trouble or sensitive skin” This was the first one I tried because I do sometimes have sensitive skin and I wanted to see how my skin reacted before testing the other mask. My skin felt nice and soft afterwards so I was happy with it.

Exfoliating – “Gently removes dead skin cells for a smooth & clear complexion” I was excited to try this one since the others were more calming. I’m not sure why but I was expecting something that would like peel off all my dead skin (even though it distinctly says gentle, duh Keri). So I was a little disappointed when there was just some scrub in the tub. My skin was immediately red from the product but then calmed down as time passed. My skin felt soft afterwards, but I believe there are better products to exfoliate your skin.

Hydrating – “Intensively hydrates & replenishes dry, dehydrated skin” I was super excited about this saying dehydrated skin since I haven’t seen a lot of products target this type of skin which is what I have. I left it on a little longer than was suggested just because I felt like my skin really needed it. And I was not disappointed! My skin felt so soft afterwards, and felt like it had just taken a huge sip of water.

Revitalizing – “Revitalizes & pumps dull, tired skin for a radiant look” Warning this smells like straight up Vicks vapor rub, which was a little off putting at first. It also had that slightly minty feel, if you’ve ever felt those like refreshing moisturizers or minty lip glosses. Just not exactly what I bargained for. My skin felt more plump after but I wouldn’t say it was super radiant.

I was disappointed in the variety available in Target because I felt like I a lot of these products overlapped on what they did, I would have LOVED to try out a deep cleaning or de-stress face mask. Another thing that is good/bad is there is too much product in the container. I felt bad to just throw it out so I put it in a ziplock baggie to see if I could use it another day. I could tell that there was a difference in the product by doing this so I wouldn’t suggest it. Another thing packaging wise is that the product would NEVER rip off nicely. Heres a picture to explain what I mean. Overall, for $3.50 this is a really awesome option for single use face mask, I would really recommend the Soothing option to sensitive skin people and the Hydrating one for people looking to get moisture back into any type of skin. They have a new lip mask that I really want to get my hands on as well as the other masks for de-stress skin and deep cleansing. Have you tried Nugg or any other face mask recently? What are your thoughts?

nügg beauty Hydrating Lip Mask and Hydrating Face Mask

Chances are, you have seen nugg beauty recently. They are a Leaping Bunny certified company that specializes in high quality, affordable skin treatments. All products are over 93% natural or naturally-derived and formulated without mineral oils, parabens, synthetic frangrances and colors. Additionally, the company is woman owned and products are available in a wide variety of places, including Target and Whole Foods!

One of the wonderful aspects of nugg is the adorable packaging. Face masks are packaged in little pods or “nuggs” (nuggets of goodness). Rather than a large tub of one kind of face mask, you have the opportunity to choose a variety to experiment with depending on time of year, skin type, etc.

The Hydrating Lip Mask is in a luxurious little golden nugget. The product is 100% natural, vegan, and smells of mint. The consistency is of a rich lip balm that spreads easily on the lips. This product is perfect for conditioning dry, chapped lips as well as hydrating lips. It is perfect to use before going to bed to really help moisturize and condition. Overnight, the lip mask absorbs and even helps restore cracked lips. Ingredients include shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, and licorice leaf extract.

The Deep Hydration Moisturizing Face Mask is individually packaged and there is a generous amount of product which can also be used for two treatments. There is no distinguishable scent and the consistency is that of a concentrated, yet light-weight and creamy gel. After applying and leaving on skin for 5-15 minutes, skin is noticeably hydrated and refreshed. Because of the formula, this mask does not dry and also makes an amazing night treatment or hydrating day moisturizer, if applied thinly. Ingredients include aloe leaf juice, camellia seed oil, and spirulina extract.

I have been patiently waiting for these Nugg face masks to launch in the UK and they are finally here! I have heard such great things about them from America and I couldn’t wait to start putting them to the test.

Nugg Face Masks Review

I love that NUGG have created face masks in single use sizes as sometimes you don’t want to use the same one regularly; I like to switch up my skincare often, so these are perfect. I think individual sized face masks are the way forward – your skin doesn’t always need the same mask over and over and it’s great to be able to try before you invest in a larger size option.

There are seven different options available in the range. I’ve been testing them out and really enjoying them. In fact, I can’t wait to get my hands on more, I have my eyes on the lip mask next!

They are available in 5 blister packs or two different trial kits which include four different masks to try. One thing I will say is that you can easily get more than one application out of each little blister pack so these would be perfect to use on a pamper evening with your friends.

All of the masks have a natural oil dispersion technology which banishes damaging emulsifiers which can harm and break down the skin’s barrier. This oil dispersion then results in a refined, clear and healthy finish to the skin. All of these masks are also free from parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates, synthetic dyes and synthetic fragrances.

Nugg Face Masks Review

I loved every mask, found them all to be hydrating and they all left my skin looking great and feeling soft. My favourites were the Soothing, Deep Cleansing and De-Stress masks. My skin had been feeling uncomfortable recently from the heat and I’d had a few painful breakouts, so I used the soothing one and my skin felt so much better afterwards; it really rebalanced my skin.

The Deep Cleansing mask helped reduce my breakouts and made my skin look so much clearer. The De-Stress one had a similar effect to the Soothing one as it helped calm my skin while adding some extra hydration. I had my Mum test the Anti-Ageing one as she has maturer skin than I do and the results were incredible from using this mask just one time for 10 minutes! Her skin looked amazing afterwards – it left her skin looking plumped and her lines were visibly reduced. Her skin also had a gorgeous glow and looked much healthier. She’s now hooked on it and is already asking where she can buy more from!

I am so impressed with these NUGG masks and will definitely buy them again, I would recommend the trial packs as you can try a few of the different options to decide which one is your favourite.

I’ve been testing out this brand new product from Nügg Beauty for a few weeks. This came at the perfect time – at the end of the winter when my skin is really suffering, getting dry and cracked. I’m about to start drinking Hyaluronic Acid to moisturize my skin. I was thrilled to try this, because I’ll try just about anything right now if it claims to moisturize my skin.

This product seems to be an affordable dupe of the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask, which I have tried and enjoyed. It’s safe to say that although these products are a bit different, the Nügg version is a dupe of the Glow Recipe version that has the same level of effectiveness. Sleeping Masks like this have the ability to hydrate my skin without feeling heavy or greasy, which is great.

If you’ve ever tried the Glow Recipe version, you know that it dries down to a ‘mask’ that you can kind of feel, but doesn’t bother you at all. Overnight, it works to seal in hydration. The Nügg Beauty Watermelon Face and Sleep Mask definitely dries down, although it take’s a bit longer. In the morning when you rinse it off, you can feel it coming off.

This 100% made my skin softer and more hydrated, even after the first use. I also like how the container the product came in is resealable, unlike their other masks. This has 35+ applications in it. I’ve been using this every night for about a month, and there’s about half the amount left in the container. I know that the single mask packs were a complaint about their original masks, so it seems like they listened to their customers and created a solution to that issue. I love when brands take the time to listen and redevelop products based off of reviews.

It smells slightly fruity, but not in a chemical way. I dislike overly scented skincare products, so this is just right for me. It’s a water texture, similar to most Korean Overnight Masks. This made a different in the hydration of my skin, and in combination with my Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, I survived and East Coast February with hydrated skin.

Story highlights

  • Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Face Mask once had an 8,000 person waitlist.
  • We tested out the product ourselves and we’re impressed by the results.

If everyone is buying (and patiently waiting for) a product, it has to be good, right? This turns out to be the case with Glow Recipe’s fan-favorite Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask ($45; sephora.com). It once sold out in under five hours, and since it’s been available online, over 8,000 people have been waitlisted to buy it. Currently, it’s available to purchase on Sephora — although we can’t guarantee that it will be in stock for too much longer.

You’re probably wondering what all the fuss is about. This gel hydrating product is designed to help people get smooth, even and moisturized skin overnight. Much like a sheet mask, this oil-free sleeping mask blocks dry air from the skin and focuses on adding moisture back in.

The product is the brainchild of Glow Recipe founders Sarah Lee and Christine Chang, who wanted to create a skincare product that could simplify a routine but still focused on the best of Korean skin care.

The result was the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. This little package is full of skin-loving ingredients, most notably watermelon rind, which is used to soothe inflamed skin. There are also alpha hydroxy acids which help exfoliate.

Of course magically repairing skin in under eight hours is a lot to ask. So we had to check out the sleeping mask for ourselves.

Right off the bat, we were impressed with the minimal packaging and the product’s appealing scent, which smells almost like watermelon candy.

You can use the mask in two ways, either as a sleeping mask or as an immediate wash-off treatment. For the sleeping mask, you’d apply a generous layer of the gel to your face as the last step in your nighttime beauty routine. The product is pillow-proof, so there won’t be any residue rubbing off your face and onto your bedding. Then the next morning, simply wash thoroughly. The second option is to use a smaller amount of the product, wait about 10 minutes and then completely rinse your face.

I mainly opted to use the mask as a wash-off one. Glow Recipe notes that this is ideal for those who have sensitive skin.

Both the overnight and 10-minute processes worked, but I preferred the latter since the change in my skin was instant. In just a few short minutes, I had supple, smooth skin. Seriously, baby-soft in just 10 minutes. Not only that, but my skin tone was more even and luminous. This ended up being the start to my morning routine, making my face an even, clear canvas for my makeup.

But I’m not knocking the overnight process, which is what the mask is marketed for. It’s a simple way to rejuvenate your skin overnight and put in the bare minimum of work to make it happen.

After testing, it’s safe to say that I completely believe the hype.

So if you have space in your skincare routine for a product that packs a serious punch, consider the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. And while $45 is a decent chunk of change to invest in a beauty mask, it does last for many, many applications (our first bottle has lasted us months of regular use), making it economical in the long run.
