Murad intensive c peel

Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel Review

Hey!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer weather! Today, I will be reviewing a skin care product that I picked up before going on my vacation to Houston, Texas. Whenever I travel, my diet, skincare routine and sleeping hour always get disturbed. Sadly, for me when this happens, my skin suffers. My skin always tends to look dull when my diet changes or if I don’t stick to my skin care routine. This obviously is a huge problem, because when I’m out on a vacation, I want to look bright and glowy, but it is hard to keep the same routine I do at home during vacation. I picked up this product, to see if it would give my skin a good pick me up during vacations. To see if it worked magic or not keep reading!

Product Description:

Use this antioxidant facial one to two times a week to instantly brighten and restore skin by exfoliating away dark, damaged cells and infuse skin with antioxidants and moisture.

Product Ingredients:

  • Vitamin C and Indian Fig protect against free radical damage while enhancing skin clarity and luminosity.
  • Myrtle Extract supports collagen production to boost youthful resilience and elasticity.

Price:

$49.50 for 1.7 fluid ounce.

My Take on Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel:

I applied a good amount of this product on to my face and massage it for about 30 seconds. I soon felt a cool, tingly feeling. The box did say there would be a tingly feeling. I have dry/normal skin, and the tingly sensation was not painful. After I left it on for about 15 minutes, I washed it off. My face felt VERY soft and smooth. The best way I could describe this product is that it felt like I just had a facial. My face felt soft, smooth and well hydrated. Of course, the main reason I wanted this was to see if I can get a glowy complexion. My face did not look dull at all afterwards, it looked bright.

This product does claim to fade dark spots, personally I have not used this product long enough to notice any major lightness in my few blemishes I had from previous acne marks. But my face does look brighter after using this, so I would say that with proper use and if continuously, I will probably see some fading in my spots. I have used glycolic acid products before, and they are the BEST. Glycolic acid does wonders to my skin, and in this product the combination of glycolic acid and vitamin C is top notch. It is a pricey product, but it is only recommended to be used twice a week, so it will definitely last a while.

All in all, I really enjoyed this product! If you have a major event to go, I would suggest using this the night before and wake up to good looking skin!

Pros of Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel:

  • Great ingredients.
  • Gets rid of dullness.
  • Makes skin feel and smooth.

Cons of Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel:

  • Pricey.
  • Tingly feeling may not suit people with sensitive skin.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5 ( minus .5 for the price).

Intensive-C Radiance Peel

For reference I have dry, flaky skin. This product is a decent chemical exfoliant. Its results are nowhere near what you would have in a salon- in its desciption on the Sephora website it claims to have "brightening results comparable to a professional peel", which I do not find at all. It does a good job of getting rid of my flaky dry patches without making my skin feel tight or stripped. If your skin isn’t thoroughly cleaned and really dried well, though, it has a hard time getting through anything that might be on the skin- I often have issues with it around the edges of my nose where I get a lot of dead skin buildup. I maybe see a bit of bightening, but nothing drastic. I have masks that do a better job for much cheaper. When I use this, it takes a decent amount to get the "tingling" effect it advertizes- the first 2 or 3 times I used it I didn’t notice any tingling until I added a thicker layer. I’m not particularly sensitive to those types of sensations so others might need to use less. It was not painful in any way and wears off after about 2 or 3 minutes. I also let the product sit for the full 10 minutes, but it’s mostly dry at 5 minutes so you could get away with less time. I don’t like that it doesn’t give the percentage of Glycolic Acid, although it is high on the ingredient list. Another thing that bothers me is the packaging. I had the smaller size, so I don’t know if this is true for the full size, but the packaging is clear. Vitamin C is very light sensitive, so having it in a clear container renders it useless. If the product has C in the name I would not only expect it to be higher on the ingredient list, but I would also hope the packaging could protect that beneficial ingredient. I find tat this is a problem with a lot of Murad products, and it turns me off from purchasing from them again in the future. Overall, this does the job for chemical exfoliation but there are much better options at cheaper price points. It does not have spa-like results and does not live up to its brightening claims, at least for me. The packaging, at least for the smaller size, does not preserve the ingredients properly. Not a terrible product, but I would not recommend it.
