With Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as parents, it’s no surprise that the pair’s daughter Emme fancies her chances at becoming a superstar singer.

Her proud mama has already given fans a glimpse at the 11-year-old daughter’s talents after sharing a video of Emme perfectly belting out Alicia Keys’ hit If I Ain’t Got You on social media.

And back in June, J. Lo and Emme performed a duet of Limitless during the singer’s It’s My Party tour in Los Angeles.

And the 50-year-old admits she’s totally supportive of Emme’s dream to follow in the footsteps of her famous parents.

‘I want her to know she’s limitless,’ she explained to New! magazine. ‘Performing a duet with her on tour this summer was such a proud moment for me and I know she can accomplish anything if there’s a passion behind it.’

The Waiting For Tonight singer’s career is going from strength-to-strength at the moment – she’s even being tipped for an Oscar for her performance in the crime movie Hustlers – but she is adamant her kids are always her first priority.

‘My children always come first,’ she added. ‘That might mean I’m on an airplane more than I otherwise would be, or flying through the night, but it’s so important to be there and watch them grow.’

Emme’s dad Marc has also publicly stated he is completely behind her singing ambitions as long she wants to launch a music career ‘because she likes it’ and not because she wants to be famous.

‘Music was a big part of my life growing up and I hope it does the same for as it has done for me’, the ‘You Sang To Me’ hitmaker explained.

‘And if that is what she wants to do … well, she should do it because she likes it, not because she has to. Not for fame, or popularity, or for likes.

‘I asked Emme, “Why do you sing?” And she said because she feels good. It’s the best response.’

Jennifer shares two children, 11-year-old twins Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. A few weeks ago, Jennifer shared a video of Emme singing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys, and fans could not believe how beautiful Emme’s voice was.

In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer admitted that Emme has Marc’s singing voice.

“She’s got her daddy’s voice. She’s amazing,” Jennifer said. “It’s natural.”

And while Emme’s talent may be new to the world, it’s not new to her parents.

“Emme could always sing,” Jennifer added. “I remember when she was in the crib, when she was a baby, she used to be humming, like, really humming to herself. And Marc would say, ‘She’s singing, it feels good to her, it feels good to her soul and to her body,’ because he was like that.”

Emme has come out of her shell in the past couple of years, Jennifer says. But she’s treading carefully with allowing her daughter into the spotlight.

“In this age of social media, where people can be so brutal and mean at times, I don’t want her to put herself any more out there than she is,” Jennifer said. “They’re not on social media yet.”

If it turns out that Emme is truly interested in the business, Jennifer will be right there to support her!

May 14, 2019 – 15:51 BST Hanna Fillingham Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Emme showcased her incredible singing voice in a new video on her famous mum’s YouTube channel

Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Emme is only 11years old, but she’s already following in her parents’ footsteps! Over the weekend, Emme was seen singing a perfect rendition of Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You, as she visited her mum during rehearsals. The video, which was uploaded onto Jenifer’s YouTube channel, focused on the behind-the-scenes preparations for a live performance of her latest single, Medicine, which she performed on 6 May for the first time on the Today show’s summer concert series. Everyone was impressed with Emme’s vocal chords, and the little girl was met with a chorus of cheers from her proud mum and her singing coaches. Jennifer then asked Emme if she wanted to go on stage with her to do a duet, to which she shyly declined.

There is no wonder Emme is so talented at singing, with Jennifer as her mum, and Marc Anthony as her dad. Fans were just as impressed with Emme’s voice, and were quick to praise her. One wrote: “Emme is so talented, her voice is amazing,” while another said: “Emme’s got a beautiful voice.” A third loved seeing Emme and Jennifer’s sweet relationship. “I got so emotional when Emme started singing and staring at you – she couldn’t ask for a better role model to look up to. You’re a true inspiration mama. So beautiful,” the fan wrote.

Jennifer often uploads videos on her YouTube channel, and recently posted one featuring Emme and her twin brother Max interviewing their famous mum. The Medicine singer had given them permission to ask them anything they liked, but the twins were hilariously distracted by her mobile phone while Jennifer replied to their answers, causing her to confiscate it so that she could get their full attention. When Max asked his mum what she liked best about her children, Jennifer sweetly told him: “My favourite thing about Max is his sense of humour and his incredible vocabulary. And also you have a big heart and I love that about you.” The doting mum then turned to Emme, and said: “My favourite thing about Emme is her joyful demeanor, she’s always happy. And her artistic qualities, I love to hear her sing.” “By the way I love to hear both of you sing,” she quickly added. Jennifer then asked her children who their favourite singer was, to which Emme sweetly replied: “Other than you…you’re my mum.”

Jennifer Lopez sure knows how to celebrate a birthday. In honor of her 50th (!), she’s embarking on a North American tour — aptly called the “It’s My Party” tour — and also has a new single out: “Medicine,” featuring French Montana. To get everyone hyped, she pulled out all the stops for a performance on the Today show that featured dancers, streamers, a ride on a fake horse, and three costume changes in seven minutes.

A lot of sweat went into that one appearance — which was the first time she performed “Medicine” live — and to give a look behind-the-scenes, JLo released a video, “Ain’t No Weekend Like A JLo Weekend,” to show all the work that made the performance. (It’s like a mini-version of Beyoncé’s Homecoming, but just 10 minutes long and only about one song.) You can see dance practice — OMG, JLo’s abs! — vocal training, and four minutes into it, you get a cameo by Lopez’s daughter, Emme Maribel Muñiz, who does a little singing of her own. She sings part of “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys, and her voice is stunning. Take a look: Emme shows up around the 4:22 mark in the video below.

Now, is that amazing, or what? This just goes to show the unfairness of genetics, since extreme singing talent definitely runs in some families (families other than mine). Does this hint that Muñiz will have a career of her own? Not yet. In the video, when Lopez says, “We should have her come out and do something on tour! Want to put a little piece in this show?” it looks like Muñiz demurs.

But we might still get glimpses of her singing here and there. Lopez is a proud mama, and she can’t help but show off her daughter occasionally on Instagram. Here, back in February, is a snippet of Muñiz singing “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana.

Jennifer Lopez’s idol status is not welcome on “The Voice.”

While it has been over a year since Jennifer Lopez ended her stint as a judge on “American Idol,” the show’s singing competition rival is saying “no thanks” to her offer to appear on their program.

According to an insider who spoke with the New York Post, Lopez was rejected from appearing as a guest star on the season four finale of “The Voice.”

“She made a formal offer to be on the show,” said an insider. “They said no to that.”

Instead, superstar Cher performed on the June finale.

The story was backed up by a rep from NBC who confirmed Lopez had offered to be on the finale but was cut “due to scheduling issues.”

“It was simply a matter of timing. The producers love Jennifer Lopez and tried to make it work, but due to the show’s format it just didn’t allow for another solo performance.”

After this initial reject, Lopez made another attempt to get on the hit show as she was also angling to take on a mentor role like stars Mary J. Blige and Pharrell Williams have in past seasons.

“She also submitted herself to have a recurring role,” the source told the Post. “When you submit yourself to be a performer, the show can see how and ratings react to your episode. But, they said no to both.”

According to the report, her proposal to appear on “The Voice” also occurred around the same time rumors surfaced that Lopez would be returning to be a judge on “Idol.”

It looks like Jennifer Lopez, actress, pop sensation, and mother, has yet another future pop star on her hands. Emme Maribel Muñiz, Lopez’s 11-year-old daughter and twin sister to Max, proved that she has inherited her parents’ talent by showcasing her own beautiful voice, with a version of Alicia Keys’ soulful “If I Ain’t Got You,” no less.

Over the weekend, Lopez uploaded a video on YouTube that highlighted the past week in her life and shared behind-the-scenes footage of preparations for a live performance of “Medicine,” her newest single, which she performed for the first time on May 6 as part of the Today show’s summer concert series.

When Lopez took a break from dancing to practice her vocals with piano accompaniment, her daughter joined her. Lopez suggested that Emme should sing Keys’ track, and with little coaching, her daughter belted out the song. She was rewarded with a round of applause and a proud mama hug.

If you’re thinking that the musical family should treat us to their combined gifts more often, you might be in luck. “We should have her come out and do something on tour,” Lopez said after Emme finished singing. “Want to put a little piece in this show? We’ll see, we’ll check it out. You don’t have to.” Lopez’s It’s My Party Tour will begin on June 7, if you’re curious to find out whether they’ll reprise this mother–daughter duet.

The full interaction between Emme and her famous mom begins at the four-minute mark. Watch below:

In case you haven’t heard, Jennifer Lopez’s daughter, Emme, is making waves with her stellar voice. The 11-year-old joins her mom on stage at each stop of the It’s My Party tour to belt out Jennifer’s 2018 hit “Limitless.” (She also starred in the music video!) In a YouTube video for Jennifer’s channel, Emme recently opened up about how she feels singing for 20,000+ people every night and her least favorite part of performing.

Ever since Emme debuted her rendition of Alicia Key’s “If I Ain’t Got You,” the internet has been going crazy for her voice. Despite all this attention, Emme said she doesn’t get stage fright after her experiences singing at school and doing plays. “When I was little, I used to be really shy singing in front of people, but not anymore,” she said. “I’ve done this before . . . but not like this.” She must’ve inherited some star power from Jennifer and dad Marc Anthony, because her comfort on stage is seriously impressive.

Watch the full video above to see Jennifer’s tour from Emme’s perspective. Maybe we’ll get to see a duet between her and her twin brother, Max, at some point — he’s a singer too! What a talented family.

Jennifer Lopez, now 48, still shows no signs of aging—so noticeably, in fact, that she’s even confused about it herself. On the other hand, her twins Maximilian David and Emme Maribel Muñiz, who, now 10 years old, seem to have suddenly grown up overnight. Just a few weeks ago—a week after posting a #TBT of them hugging—she Instagrammed a current-day photo of the pair and captioned it, “My babies aren’t babies anymore… but they are still my babies.” (As well as still her #coconuts, as she’s wont to call them.)

For what it’s worth, three days later, she posted a photo of her daughter casually wearing a sports bra, an item which some preteens and teens consider something of a milestone. But that’s barely worth mentioning after the Instagram Stories that Lopez posted on Thursday, which officially showcased Emme’s maturity by documenting “a very special day,” which consisted of taking a series of business meetings with three book publishers, shopping around an idea that Emme had for a book. Lopez does all of the talking in the video, though Emme does proudly show off her idea’s mock-up, which is currently titled Lord Help Me! (Its cover features an illustration of a girl smiling and kneeling in prayer, and seems to confirm that she plans to work with the prolific children’s book illustrator Ana Martín Larrañaga.)

The twins have in fact been ahead of their time since the moment they were born in 2008, when Lopez was still married to their father, Marc Anthony; just a month into their life on Earth, they became the subjects of the most expensive celebrity picture to ever exist at the time, which People reportedly paid $6 million for. (Though another set of twins overtook that title just a few months later, when People forked over even more for the exclusive first look at Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s then-newborns, Vivienne and Knox.) A decade later, Emme once again looked picture perfect, having pulled her hair back into an impressively Ariana Grande-like ponytail.

There’s no word yet if Max is as precocious as his sister, but given Lopez’s love for Instagramming her children, we’ll no doubt find out soon enough—perhaps even from an Instagram of his own. We do know, however, that the two have very different tastes: When it came time to celebrate their tenth birthday earlier this year, which they did at the Sugar Factory in Las Vegas, they each got their own custom cake—one of which was Super Mario Bros.-themed, and one which featured a sloth. Lord help you guess who got which!

Did Jennifer Lopez’s daughter Emme just out sing her on stage? Watch and judge for yourself!

Did Marc Anthony’s daughter Emme just outsing her triple-threat mom Jennifer Lopez on stage? After having to cancel her It’s My Party show in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night after the NYC blackout, JLo was back on stage on Monday night with the support of her little girl. For an a capella duet during the concert, Emme – rocking a much shorter haircut for the summer – belted out some serious notes to the sounds of cheers from the audience and a look of proud amazement from her famous mom.

Emme spoke about her growing vocal skills and overcoming stage fright in a video posted to Jennifer’s YouTube channel earlier this summer. “When I was little, I used to be really shy singing in front of people. Not anymore,” she said, adding that she’s used to her school play performances but still getting used to huge concert crowds. “I’ve done this before, but not like this.”

The 11-year-old, who has a twin brother Max, has been getting lots of experience during JLo’s It’s My Party tour, coming on stage multiple times to join her mom’s performance. A video of her singing Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You last spring led her mother to cede the spotlight on stage in Los Angeles for the first stop of her tour when Emme performed a beautiful rendition of Limitless from mamá’s movie, Second Act. Even then, during the early days of the tour, Jennifer was blown away by her daughter’s talent. “I love you so much. So proud of you,” she told the tween following her perfect performance. “You did so good. Thank God you were out there—you sang better than mommy.”
