Howies golden buzzer 2019

The short answer is, no, Howie Mandel didn’t outright reveal his Golden Buzzer, but he dropped a major clue. In week two of AGT: Champions Simon Cowell shocked America and stole Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer, which leaves us wondering who will he pick as his golden buzzer, keep reading to find out more.

Are V. Unbeatable, Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer?

So while interviewing Howie Mandel, Talent Recap’s host Jacklyn, who happens to be Howie’s daughter asked him about his favorite acts and he mentioned that V Unbeatable is his favorite.

Now keep in mind, no judge on America’s Got Talent has ever called any act their favorite if that act wasn’t their golden buzzer, which to us is a dead giveaway.

5 FACTS ABOUT INDIA’S V. UNBEATABLE. CAN THEY WIN ‘AGT’?

In the same interview, he also asked the same question we all have been asking for a while, “Are they dancers, are they acrobats, is it a danger act? It’s all rolled in one…”

We feel the same way Howie, we really do!

V. Unbeatable’s Chances of Winning ‘AGT Champions’

The Mumbai-based dance group V Unbeatable, that came 4th in America’s Got Talent Season 14 finals will be on AGT: Champions and that has caused quite a stir amongst fans. V Unbeatable Fans were angry that they came in 4th and not second, taking to Twitter to express their feels.

V UNBEATABLE: THE UNTOLD STORY OF INDIA’S DANCE GROUP FROM THE SLUMS OF MUMBAI TO ‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: CHAMPIONS’

To have them back has made a lot of AGT fans happy and they are set to perform Monday night.

Can V Unbeatable win AGT: Champions?

First of all, let’s look at history. America’s Got Talent has been on the air for 13 years and not once, I repeat myself, not once has a foreign group won the title. The same goes for AGT: Champions that although has had only one season is still part of the same franchise.

‘AGT: CHAMPIONS’ ROUND 2: SIMON STEALS HOWIE’S GOLDEN BUZZER!

Can India’s dance group V. Unbeatable beat that record on AGT: Champions and take home the trophy? Let us know in the comments down below!

Joseph Allen‘s journey on “America’s Got Talent” was short, but memorable. The 21-year-old’s initial audition, in which he performed an original rap song about wanting the world to know his name, touched Howie Mandel so much that he pressed his Golden Buzzer. When Joseph returned in last week’s Quarterfinals 2 episode, he received mixed reviews from the judges and was ultimately eliminated based on America’s overnight votes. Now the talented rapper is speaking out about his experience in an exclusive interview with NBC (watch above).

“My favorite memory on ‘AGT’ was when I walked out and then I saw my friends in the crowd,” he recalls about his audition. “Just the initial response that I got in the first place from walking out on that stage was something that made me feel at home.” Joseph’s entourage of family and friends was also there for his live performance in which he dedicated his second song to his mother.

Joseph then gives a “thank you” to Howie, but not necessarily for the reason you’d expect. “Because of him, I’m known as the guy who got picked up by Terry Crews. And that’s pretty rare. I don’t know too many people who can say that’s happened for them.” Of course, Joseph is referring to the moment the new “America’s Got Talent” host picked him up during his golden confetti shower after Howie slammed his hand down on his button.

“This is a big stage,” Joseph accurately remarks about the infamous Dolby Theatre. “It has a lot of history, it has a lot of big moments that have already happened here. The fact that I get a chance to step on that stage and see what I can do is a blessing for sure. I don’t take it for granted at all.”

Following Joseph’s live appearance at the Dolby, his mentor/judge Howie proclaimed, “You are a shining light and I’m so proud that you’re my Golden Buzzer. You weren’t only singing the song, we were living the song. You’re looking at your mom, you’re looking at the tears. I could feel the pride just shooting over our heads and their hearts just bursting, your heart just bursting.” Will you miss Joseph on “AGT”?

The quarterfinals are continuing on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and some of your favorite performers will be returning to the stage. One of those amazing talents is singer Joseph Allen.

Joseph Allen is one of the AGT season 14 contestants we’re still talking about. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Texas will be hitting the stage once again during the Aug. 20 episode. He’ll be performing for the first time since the auditions. So, who is Joseph Allen? He’s one of the America’s Got Talent contestants you’re going to need to remember as the season goes on.

1. Joseph received Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer. There’s a reason we haven’t seen Joseph since the auditions and that’s because he got the Golden Buzzer. Joseph made his debut during the second week of auditions and performed an amazing original song. The judges and the audience were blown away at what Joseph brought to the table. Simon Cowell raved over Joseph’s “great tone” and “amazing energy.” Howie Mandel was so impressed that he pressed his Golden Buzzer, sending Joseph straight to the live shows.

2. He grew up in a large family. Joseph’s parents divorced when he very young and they both remarried. Joseph ended up the youngest of 12 kids.

3. A song he wrote for his mom went viral. Joseph penned an original song for his mother before he left for college and posted it on Facebook. People began sharing his sweet tune. He taught himself how to produce and mix music.

4. He discovered his talent for songwriting and performing at college. Joseph began noticing that students at his school liked his original music, according to his NBC bio. He decided to pick up a job as a certified tire technician and saved $5,000 that he invested in building a recording studio in his dorm room.

5. He used to race motorcycles. Joseph broke a lot of bones over the years, as well as ligaments. His body is now held together with nine screws, a four-inch titanium plate, four internal nylon ropes, two metal anchors, and more. At his mother’s suggestion, Joseph put his motocross career behind him and then fell in love with music.

“For me, it’s just been a crazy exciting journey.” Killeen native’s run on America’s Got Talent ends

LOS ANGELES — From the Golden Buzzer in June to a live performance on national television Joseph Allen has had a lot of highlights during his run o n America’s Got Talent.

Joseph Allen did not get enough votes Wednesday from the audience to continue his run on the national talent show. 6 News reporter Cole Johnson sat down for a Facetime interview before the announcement to talk about his AGT journey.

“The whole thought is the next rounds aren’t guaranteed,” Allen said. “I wanted to make sure that I did everything possible on this round to give my family a cool moment.”

During his performance on Tuesday night, Allen sang an original song about his mom.

“This round was something that I wanted to be special, you know, for my family and for my mom,” Allen said.

The comments from the judges were mixed and the viewers’ votes did not add up for Allen on Wednesday.

“Did I leave it all out there? I like to think I did the best that I could do right now,” Allen said. “I’m only going to get better and keep learning and keep growing.”

When asked what his next plans are, Allen said this is just step in his journey.

“For me it’s just been a crazy exciting journey and no matter if it ends tonight or if it continues, you know, I’m just excited to see what the heck I continue to do,” Allen said.

  • On America’s Got Talent Tuesday night, judge Howie Mandel gave his 2019 golden buzzer to singer and rapper Joseph Allen.
  • Joseph is the second vocalist this season that has earned the AGT golden buzzer (Kodi Lee was first).
  • Fans are upset that another vocalist has landed the coveted golden buzzer.

The second episode of America’s Got Talent aired on Tuesday, and, overall, fans seem to be loving every second of season 14. That is, with the exception of judge Howie Mandel picking “another singer” for his golden buzzer.

For the last audition of the night, Joseph Allen stepped on the stage with a giant smile on his face. After singing and rapping his original song, judges Gabrielle Union, Simon Cowell, and Julianne Hough gave Joseph raving reviews. But no one appreciated his performance more than Howie, who called the young star’s smile “electric.”

“You walked up with such exuberance and that’s what life is, life is a series of moments. People at home are talking about this moment,” Howie began as he started to get out of his chair. “You said, you wanted to leave a footprint. Well, I’m going to give you the footprint that you need to leave.” And with that, Howie climbed on top of the table and slammed his foot down on the golden buzzer, sending Joseph directly to the live shows.

Some people online felt like Joseph totally deserved the honor.

“So incredibly proud of you Joseph. YOU DESERVE IT ALL,” one fan tweeted. “Joseph Allen is amazing, he’s definitely going to create some great music,” another said.

While others felt that “another singer” getting a golden buzzer was a bad move.

#AGT continues to give singers golden buzzers. That wasn’t a golden buzzer performance.

— ruben urquidez (@rubiooooooo) June 5, 2019

#AGT Another singer? Oh geez. *facepalm*

— Okaifern (@Okaifern) June 5, 2019

So, there will be another gold buzzer for another singer…. May as well turn the channel now. #AGT

— TVwithMT (@TVwithMT) June 5, 2019

“AGT continues to give singers golden buzzers,” one declared. “Another singer? Oh geez. *facepalm*,” a different viewer tweeted.

For many seasons, AGT viewers have expressed their frustration over this issue. And looking at the stats, it’s not hard to see where they’re coming from. Last season, seven out of the nine were singing acts. And during the winter spinoff America’s Got Talent: The Champions, three out of the five golden buzzers winners were vocalists.

Of course, just because a lot of singers are given golden buzzers, doesn’t mean a vocalist is going to win the whole thing.

Look at magician Shin Lim, who won both Champions in early 2019 and season 13 last summer. He was against four singing finalists in season 13 and six finalists for Champions and still took home the title for both competitions. That’s because when it comes down to it, the votes from viewers at home are what matters the most.

So, when the live shows come around (August 13), get ready to voice your opinion — whether you’re all about the singers or not. And in the meantime, let’s just leave poor Howie alone, shall we?

Joseph Allen was a singer and rapper act from Season 14 of America’s Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background

Joseph Allen grew up racing motorcycles, sometimes jumping them farther than 100 feet. He has broken so many bones over the years that the bones and ligaments in his body are now held together with nine screws, a four-inch titanium plate, four internal nylon ropes, two metal anchors and more.

Because of the danger of his sport, his mother suggested that he put his motocross racing dreams behind him and focus on getting a college education. He promptly moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and while in college there he discovered his talent for songwriting and performing. When he noticed that the students at his school liked his original music, he picked up a job as a certified tire technician and worked nonstop to save $5,000 that he invested in building a recording studio in his dorm room. He spent endless nights learning how to produce, play the piano, engineer sounds and record, mix and master his music. Then he began releasing his music on all platforms and realized that it was more than just students at his school that liked his music. Joseph Allen’s fan base and following on social media is growing so fast, there is really no telling how much he will change the world!

Wild Card

Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer, 21-year-old rapper Joseph Allen, made his live debut on “America’s Got Talent” during Tuesday’s Quarterfinals 2 episode. Just like his original audition Joseph performed an original song, only this time around he had the entire Dolby Theatre in tears by dedicating it to his “Mama.” Will America vote this act through to the Season 14 Semifinals? Watch the “AGT” performance video above, read the judges’ comments below and then make your predictions before Wednesday’s results episode.

Howie Mandel: “I don’t know if you could feel what we feel at home. First of all, you are a shining light and I’m so proud that you’re my Golden Buzzer. But I’m sitting here and you weren’t only singing the song, we were living the song. You’re looking at your mom, you’re looking at the tears. I could feel the pride just shooting over our heads and their hearts just bursting, your heart just bursting. You are authentic, you make us smile and I said you are a shining star. You’re a wonderful young man. So proud of you.”

Gabrielle Union: “What I love about you is, I love a vulnerable man, you know what I mean? You put your heart on that stage and just like the first time, when you rapped to your mom I bawled. That was everything. That’s exactly what this competition’s about. Great job, man.”

Julianne Hough: “I love what Gabrielle said. You’re vulnerable, you come out here and you put it out on the stage and I love that. You said something in your package about coming out to LA and it’s harder than it looks. I want to just say something: do not compare yourself to anybody because that is the death of artistry. One thing that I saw, and I know I’m going over time, is that I felt a little apprehensive. You were trying to maybe be really good and don’t worry about that. Just be you, babe. Just be you.”

Simon Cowell: “My favorite part of the whole performance was just watching your mom’s reaction. I’m gonna be honest with you, if you watch this back, listen how good that first song was. It was beautiful. This song, without your mom and your family’s reaction, did nothing for me. The background graphics were horrendous as well. You’re again Joseph one of those guys the audience I hope are gonna like so much and put you through to the next round and then you could deliver again a song which was as good as your first audition.”

In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the live performance: “Howie’s Golden Buzzer choice, Joseph Allen, was up next to perform his signature mixture of rap and singing for an uplifting love song to his mom. It was a touching and dynamic song that brought Gabrielle and Howie to their feet to heap praise upon him. He said that he wasn’t even singing the song, but instead ‘living the song’ which is completely accurate. Gabrielle praised his ability to be a ‘vulnerable man’ on stage and thought it was a great way to show his talent.”

Singer-songwriter Joseph Allen decided to audition for Season 14 of “America’s Got Talent” because he sees himself as someone who can “make a major impact in the world, and I just want to see how much of a footprint I can leave on earth before I leave.” Well, his footprint will definitely be felt thanks to judge Howie Mandel, who jumped up on the judges’ table and stomped on the Golden Buzzer following Joseph’s performance of his original rap song in Tuesday’s audition episode. Watch the “AGT” performance video above.

Prior to Joseph’s performance Simon was seen asking fellow judge Julianne Hough whether this was “serious” or not, and she replied back, “I don’t know!” Well, just moments into his audition all four judges — Howie, Simon, Julianne and Gabrielle Union — were on board with the rapper’s original tune about living life to its fullest.

“After today, the world’s gonna know my name,” Joseph sang as every member of the studio audience was up on their feet. The humble singer was so moved by their reaction that he choked up on the last line of his song and dropped down to his knees on the “AGT” stage.

As for why Howie decided to anoint Joseph with his Golden Buzzer, the Canadian comedian stated, “From the moment you walked out, your smile is electric. You walked out with such exuberance and that’s what life is. You know, life is a series of moments. People at home are talking about this moment. People in this room are talking about this moment.” Howie then crawled up onto the judges’ table and stomped on the button, announcing, “You said you want to leave a footprint? Well, I’m going to give you the footprint you need to leave!”

In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty wrote the following about the Joseph’s performance: “He started the song singing and then transitioned into a slightly humorous, but very inspirational rap that left himself speechless and emotional at the end. He got a standing ovation from the panel and the crowd as he rose from his knees with tears flowing from his eyes. After hearing positive critiques from Gabrielle, Julianne and Simon, it came to Howie who told him that his electricity was felt as soon as he walked on the stage and that if he said he wanted to leave a footprint then he would give him one–so Howie stood on the table and stomped on the golden buzzer, sending Joseph straight through to the live shows!”

Position Reached Semifinalist

Jonathan Allen was an opera singer act from Season 8 of America’s Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Jonathan Allen, from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, has been singing for as long as he can remember. He used music as a respite from the daily troubles of childhood and grew up liking classical music, especially Pavarotti. Jonathan enjoys playing piano and singing all styles of music. After coming out as gay to his family, Jonathan sadly learned that they would not support him, so he hopes that his “AGT” family and fans will appreciate him as a unique, standout talent. Jonathan hoped that if he won the million-dollar prize, he would open a safe house for youth in similar situations as him, to get the support and shelter they need. 1

Jonathan Allen’s audition in Episode 802 consisted of singing “Time to Say Goodbye.” Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all voted “Yes,” sending him to the Vegas Round.

Jonathan Allen charmed millions when he auditioned for America’s Got Talent this summer. The small town Tennessee native showcased some serious operatic chops and shortly after the show aired, his audition video went viral with nearly five million views.

Although Allen’s voice secured him a spot in the Top 60, it was his backstory that drove people to share his audition video across social media platforms. During his audition, Allen revealed that his parents had kicked him out of their house at 18 for being gay.

Although Allen was eliminated during the semifinals in late August, the singer is pursuing his dreams and using his voice to make a difference. We caught up with Allen to see what life has in store for the singer.

Can you talk a little bit about what drove you to audition for America’s Got Talent?

Honestly, my partner. He was and is my greatest supporter. Once he realized AGT auditions were coming he made sure that we were there, and the rest is history!

What was the initial audition experience like?

It was nerve racking. There were so many great and talented people auditioning and you just wonder how you’re going to stack up against these amazing acts. Fortunately I held my own.

In subsequent weeks, were the nerves still as big or did they subside?

I tried to take each day as it came, but the nerves never subsided. I would say that nerves were at their peak right before my first performance at Radio City Music Hall. That is such an awesome theater with so much history and it had always been a goal of mine to play there. So truthfully, it was a dream come true but a nerve racking experience.

Have you always been aware of how extremely talented you are?

I have always felt that I had some talent – and always received positive feedback from others. I just never thought that people would be as receptive to it as they have been, and that’s been a great feeling.

Your story was heartbreaking but has hopefully helped others in your position, being from Tennessee do you have any advice for someone who might find themselves in a similar position?

The best thing that I can say is be true to yourself, love even when you feel you are not, and give thanks for life—it’s a great gift.

Can you talk a little bit about growing up gay in Tennessee?

It was a little difficult. I was always trying to fit in with the typical traditional family values. I knew that I didn’t have the same beliefs so it was very conflicting.

Have you had contact with your parents since the show?

Unfortunately I have not, but I have had contact with other family and received positive feedback from them. So that in itself is great.

Since you were unfortunately eliminated, did you have any performances planned that you would have liked to have gotten to on the show?

I would have loved to have been able to sing “The Prayer” with Celine Dion. It is one of my favorite classical pop duets. And to be able to sing it with one of my favorite singers. It would have been beyond epic for me.

Since elimination, what’s next for Jonathan Allen?

This experience has opened so many doors! I have had the chance to do a benefit for Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing (GLEH) in Los Angeles, one of the only places as of now, exclusively servicing the senior LGBT community with low cost housing. I will be working with the Trevor Project, a great national organization helping those gay and questioning youth across the nation with crisis intervention and suicide prevention via toll free hot lines. Also I will be going into the studio soon to record some of my favorite songs, and I’m looking forward to tour dates and performing at PRIDE festivals across the nation. Life is good.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hopefully touring. I feel most comfortable when I’m on stage. I would also hope that affords me the opportunity to meet and connect with new and wonderful people that have a positive effect on my life and vice versa.

Are there any performers’ careers you would like to emulate or inspire you?

My biggest inspiration is Pavarotti. But I am inspired by any artist that stays true to who they are, doing what they love to do, and having fun while doing it!
