Evelyn 90 day fiance

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Evelin has quickly become the villain of the season after she told her fiancé, Corey, to find his own way to her hometown after she ditched him at the airport in Ecuador. Evelin has since experienced bullying online, including her business account for the cocktail bar she opened with Corey. In an apparent effort to get back at some of the people “destroying” her “business image” by leaving negative comments on her page, she posted screenshots of some of her critics.

” people seriously need to stop! This time I’m not gonna cover their names,” she wrote on Instagram Saturday, before sharing some of the messages. “I do them but I can’t my life on Instagram all the time making sure people is not destroying my business image.”

It’s not the first time Evelin, 26, threatened to block some of her followers. She added the disclaimer to one of her captions after she returned from a trip to Brazil.

“Brazil was awesome! So awesome,” she wrote. “Dudes this IG it’s not just for the show, it’s my personal account that friends and family are part of , so if you want to come with comments that are degrading you are getting block!!!”

On Wednesday, she told fans that Corey, 31, received a warm welcome, even if she wasn’t there to pick him up at the airport. “Don’t be worry about Corey, he surely got a good welcome,” she wrote. “Reasons may or may not be on the next episode. If they are not I’ll probably explain later, for now keep watching and enjoy the show. Much love.”

“90 Day Fiancé” star Evelin took to Instagram on Wednesday where she promised to explain why she ditched Corey at the Ecuador airport on Monday’s episode. It was an intense moment, where Evelin told him he was a grown man and could take a bus to her hometown. The moment seemed harsh to viewers, but Evelin teased there’s more to the story. TLC

One of the reasons people haven’t exactly warmed up to Evelin is probably because she’s not as devoted to Corey as some other couples. In previews for upcoming episodes, she seems wishy-washy about making their relationship work. She’s not interested in marriage and opened up a business and bought several properties with Corey’s $40,00. All the investments are in her name.

Evelin addressed the trolls on her page for the first time June 16. “Why does some women feel like they have to destroy other women in order for them to feel good?” she wrote. “I’m hoping they can read this and think about what they are saying, trust me we all have mirrors in our homes. This is me with my burn by the sun hair and I don’t regret it because it’s the result of so many days of happiness and fun in the ocean under that beautiful sun.”

To find out what happens, don’t miss 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.

David Vazquez Zermeno Enjoys Life In America

David Vazquez Zermeno is originally from Granada, Spain. Though, marrying Evelyn Cormier meant he would be living in the small town of Claremont, New Hampshire. David didn’t like living in Claremont. As seen on 90 Day Fiance, he tried to convince Evelyn to move to a big city. Although, it seems like David was not successful as the couple still lives in Claremont.

The 90 Day Fiance Spanish native seems to be enjoying his life in America. According to his Instagram, David has been doing a lot of travelling in America. He has visited many states, such as Missouri, Colorado and New York. Just to name a few. David and his wife Evelyn spent their first wedding anniversary in Ireland. They also recently spent some time in Mexico.

Are Evelyn Cormier & David Vazquez Zermeno Still Together?

Evelyn Cormier and her husband David Vazquez Zermeno are currently still happily together. David supported Evelyn during her time on American Idol. He has always been supportive of her career in the music industry. They also still live in Claremont, New Hampshire. Which is something he didn’t support in the beginning. Yet, it doesn’t seem like the couple plan on moving anytime soon.

The 90 Day Fiance season five couple seem to be enjoying life together just the two of them. Evelyn and David do not have any children together. The duo is still very young. Thus, they still have a lot of time to start a family. If they choose to do so. There is no indication that the pair plan on having any children anytime soon.

Catch up on all the latest 90 Day Fiance news and spoilers by checking out Soap Dirt daily.

Who Is Evelyn Cormier? From 90 Day Fiancé To American Idol

She first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé. Now Evelyn Cormier is on American Idol.

One of the breakout stars of this season of American Idol is Evelyn Cormier, a 19-year-old singer from New Hampshire. She caught the ear of judge Katy Perry when she auditioned singing “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaac and has moved on to Hollywood and the top 20 round of auditions.

But Evelyn is no newcomer to the world of music or the world of reality television. She’s been singing since she was a child, both with her family band and as a solo musician. Moreover, she spent a season on TLC’s 90 Day Finacé, where she and her husband David gave the world a glimpse into the process of navigating the K-1 visa process. David, a native of Spain, connected with Evelyn online after hearing her music. After several years of courtship and traveling to see one another, he proposed and they began applying for him to come to the States so they could get married. Now they’ve been married for a year and Evelyn is trying to advance her music career.

Who is Evelyn Cormier? Read on to find out.

1. Claremont, New Hampshire

Evelyn was born and raised in Claremont New Hampshire, a small town in the center of the state. Evelyn is truly a hometown girl and adores where she grew up, something that caused friction when David arrived there. The native of Spain is well traveled and used to a more urban environment – not to mention a warmer climate – and often talked about leaving the town to explore other parts of the US once he and Evelyn were married.

This distressed Evelyn who tried to talk up her beloved home, once taking David apple picking and declaring that Claremont apples were the best in the world. David brushed her off and said he’d had better apples.

2. Cormier Band

Evelyn claims to have begun her music career as a middle schooler, asking her dad to teach her to play on a guitar she bought herself at a yard sale. She has even written a song called “Yard Sale Guitar” about the process. Her musical aspirations became a family affair and she, her bother and dad started the Cormier band, which performs regularly at their church and in local venues.

A post shared by Evelyn Cormier (@evelyncormier) on Jan 7, 2019 at 8:56am PST

3. Religious background

Evelyn has a deep Christian faith, encouraged by her father who is a pastor. With his long dark hair and winning smile, Maciah Cormier he was a fan favorite on 90 Day Fiancé, with some fans nicknaming him “Hot Jesus Dad.”

The whole family centers religion in their lives and Evelyn explained early on in the season that she didn’t believe in pre-marital sex. She told audiences that she and David were both virgins for religious reasons. While David didn’t seem to mind sharing that information, he was quite unwilling to talk about sex with Evelyn, despite her repeated attempted to discuss intimacy in marriage. He even went so far as to walk out of his own apartment to avoid one such conversation on camera.

4. Wedded bliss

The couple made it through the visa process and had a big, family wedding in Claremont despite some friction in the planning process. Evelyn had very specific ideas for what she wanted her wedding to look like – including her wearing her mother’s wedding dress.

A post shared by Evelyn Cormier (@evelyncormier) on Dec 20, 2017 at 8:12am PST

Without dress shopping to stress her out, she turned to picking tuxes for David and his groomsmen who were flying over from Europe to be a part of this. While they had budget concerns, Evelyn wouldn’t give an inch on making sure her wedding was exactly how she wanted it.

5. Self-promotion

Like many musicians these days, Evelyn uses social media to promote her work. She often posts videos of herself practicing and even recording music. She doesn’t often leave Claremont to perform, however, so it was a surprise when she suddenly revealed that she had auditioned for Idol.

A post shared by Evelyn Cormier (@evelyncormier) on Aug 3, 2018 at 8:49pm PDT

6. Fan response

While Katy Perry immediately took to Evelyn – perhaps because, like Evelyn, she started out singing in church and has a preacher father – some fans of 90 Day Fiancé were less than thrilled to see her back on TV. Some fans just hadn’t been all that impressed with her singing when they heard it on TLC.

Ohhhh nooo @americanIdol you DID NOT bring #90DayFiance Evelyn #americanidol

— Laura (@Laurams84) March 18, 2019

Seriously I have to mute the tv when Evelyn is on she looks and sounds like a dying walrus. #Americanidol

— lindsey cadwell (@jlcadwell1127) March 27, 2019

However, someone in the production team at American Idol spotted potential in the young singer and asked her to come audition. While she had been resistant to the idea when friends had proposed it in the past, being approached by producers changed her mind, She told a local news program “I always would respond, ‘If God wants me to audition, He will bring the opportunity to me.’”

In addition to the production team taking her under their wing to get her on the Idol stage, Katy Perry said Evelyn has “Literally one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in my life,” and quickly sent her on to the next several rounds of auditions.

7. Spoilers?

While we know Evelyn made it to Hollywood and to the top 20, who will perform in showcase night, which airs on March 31. These episodes filmed in January so the live rounds haven’t begun yet. There haven’t been any leaks about whether Evelyn will make it to the live rounds but anyone following her social media can see that she’s been in Claremont for the past few months. She’s done some local interviews about her experience and she’s posted videos of herself recording an EP at a local studio. Would someone who is still hoping for a shot at stardom be back to the usual grind at home? Fans will have to wait until the showcase round to find out.

American Idol airs on Sunday nights on ABC.

She is the creator of the blog Stay at Home Pundit and she is a cohost of the weekly podcast The More Perfect Union.

Well, this a reality TV crossover event we didn’t see coming.

In one of the more random reality TV-happenings of the year, 90 Day Fiancé star Evelyn Cormier has made it to the top 20 of this season of American Idol. During the Top 20 Solo Round, she sang “Leaving On a Jet Plane” by John Denver.

Who Is Evelyn Cormier? Why Do I Recognize Her?

For those who need a refresher on Evelyn and her story, she appeared on season 5 of the hit TLC reality show in 2017 with her fiancé, David Vázquez Zermeño. (In case you need a refresher, 90 Day Fiancé follows Americans as they attempt to bring their foreign partners stateside on a K-1 visa, which requires the international couples to get married within 90 days. The drama!)

David, who is from Spain, messaged Evelyn after seeing the Facebook page for her band. While that might sound like the beginning of a charming love story, viewers were turned off by the fact that David was 27 at the time, and Evelyn was only 18.

The couple bonded over their religious values and desire to stay abstinent until marriage, although David expressed hesitation at living in Evelyn’s small hometown of Claremont, New Hampshire.

“David is definitely the first man that I’ve ever been in love with,” Cormier said on the show. “I’ve had relationships where I thought I felt love, but now, being in love, I know this is crazy, this is something I’ve never felt before.” (Of course, they went on to spend the majority of the season arguing over wedding plans.)

The couple got married in October 2017, but according to InTouch, they caused more controversy when some Instagram posts showed that they may have met prior to being on 90 Day Fiancé.

In an Instagram post celebrating her ascendance to the American Idol Top 20, Cormier thanked judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan “for believing in me.”

In 2014, TLC started a brand-new reality TV show called 90 Day Fiancé. The series was highly controversial because its basis was that couples from different countries who met had 90 days to get married so they could earn the work visas necessary to remain in the United States.

By law, after 90 days, one of the people would have to leave the United States and return to their home country.

The show deals with the struggles to get married in that time frame to secure the work visas — which only gave the couple a limited period to decide if they really loved each other enough to walk the aisle.

There were many obvious roadblocks in the way. Family members and friends rightfully distrusted some of the individuals, thinking that they were just getting married to get into the country.

There were also the cultural differences, as those individuals raised in America had to understand their new loves upbringing and beliefs while the two try to become one in their relationship.

Of course, this didn’t always work out but there is a high percentage of people who made their marriages last through the five seasons of the reality series.

While there are those who have made their marriages work, it has not been without problems, and while some are happily raising new families, others are still working on their happily ever after stories.

Here are the 15 90 Day Fiancé Couples That Are Still Together (And 5 That Split).

20 Still together: RUSS AND PAOLO

Russ and Paolo appeared on 90 Day Fiancé in the very first season of the series. Russ was from Oklahoma and he met Pao when he was in Colombia on an assignment from the oil company he worked for.

The two fell in love and Pao, a fashion designer, prepared to move to the United States to marry him.

The two married and lived in Oklahoma until Pao left for Miami to be a model. However, while Russ stayed in Oklahoma initially, he soon joined her in Miami.

The two later appeared in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After and were still married, although the show dealt with some tragedy that they two had to get through in their lives.

However, they remain together and strongly united.

19 Still together: ALAN AND KIRLYAM

Appearing in season one of 90 Day Fiancé, Alan and Kirlyam married after their appearance on the show.

Alan is from California and was on a mission to Brazil with the Church of Latter Day Saints when he met her. She then moved to the U.S. to live with him and ended up getting married.

The two walked the aisle in Alan’s church and have remained together since that time. While there were some problems when Kirlyam wanted to model and Alan did not approve, they worked through the disagreements and remain strongly united.

Kirlyam has still been unable to gain employment in the United States because she is still waiting to receive her green card.

The two actually welcomed their first child into the world last year — a son named Liam in October 2017.

18 Still together: MIKE AND AZIZA

Mike met the Russian Aziza in season one of 90 Day Fiancé when he was surfing around online on a language acquisition website.

The two were just friends at first but Aziza wanted to get a work visa in the United States and received a rejection, and it was at that time that the two began to look into a more romantic relationship.

While that seems a little suspicious, they actually made it work.

She moved to the United States in 2014 and the two remain married, although they have still yet to agree on expanding their family.

They do have a houseful of pets, but Aziza is still waiting to make the decision to bring a child into the world with her husband.

Despite this, they have been married for three years and live in Cleveland.

Chelsea met Yamir while she was doing volunteer work in Nicaragua. Interestingly, Yamir was part of a boy band and then moved to the United States with Chelsea to live with her and her parents.

The two had problems early on, as Yamir wanted to continue his music career and Chelsea didn’t want to risk moving to Chicago to let him do so without a job to fall back on.

These fears are part of what helped to split the couple apart.

In 2016, Chelsea filed for divorce from Yamir due to “irreconcilable differences” just two years after they tied the knot. Neither asked for spousal support and their marriage was ended quietly.

Neither of the former 90 Day Fiancé cast members commented on the full problems that led to their separation and eventual divorce.

16 Still together: LOUIS ROY AND AYA

Louis and Aya actually met on the internet using an online dating service. He was from Indiana and she was from the Philippines, and while he originally wanted to move down to live with her, she chose to move to the United States.

This was partially due to the fact that he had two children from a previous relationship.

This 90 Day Fiancé couple is one that has seems to live with none of the drama expected from the reality TV show.

Not only is this season one couple still happy and together, but they announced this year that they are expecting their first child as a couple.

The two promised at the start to work hard to love each other every day, and they have succeeded at that.

15 Still together: JUSTIN AND EVELIN

Justin and Evelin are a 90 Days Fiance season 2 couple who met each other while attending the 2013 World Games rugby tournament.

The couple revealed that they fell in love after just seven days and she moved to the United States to marry him.

It wasn’t an easy start, as the show revealed him to be demanding of a “proper wife” who cooked and cleaned, and Evelin was not that person.

The two seemed to make it work out anyway, and are still married today, over three years since the wedding.

The two still seem to be living the high life, as photos from just last year showed them on a tour of the Napa Valley wine country, with Evelin revealing she is looking forward to more happy years with Justin.

14 Still together: BRETT AND DAYA

Washington native Brett met Daya by using an online dating service. Daya, who lived in the Philippines, moved to the United States to marry Brett, who was divorced and had a daughter from his previous marriage.

This was not the strongest union at first, mostly due to Brett’s mother refusing to accept the marriage and refusing to attend the wedding.

However, the two have proven that they were in love and their marriage has worked.

Not only have they remained married for three years now, but they welcomed their first child together into the world in 2017 with Isabella.

Brett also has a podcast where he talks about his marriage and family life since they appeared on the reality series, although Daya seems intent on staying out of the spotlight.

Danielle and Mohamed were possibly the most polarizing couple on 90 Day Fiancé and their split was likely the most memorable and crazy when it came to anyone who appeared on the TV series.

Danielle was from Ohio and she met Mohamed in an online chat room. Mohamed, from Tunisia, moved to Ohio to marry Danielle, who had four children from other relationships — one of which was already an adult.

Mohamed lied to Danielle from the start when he said he had a job but was actually unemployed. Danielle also lied about parts of her past and the two quickly split.

The judge in their separation convinced her to just file for divorce so Mohamed could remain in the United States, but Danielle is still publicly bashing him online and still uses his last name.

12 Still together: JASON AND CASSIA

Jason and Cassia have split and reunited a few times over their marriage. Jason was living in Florida when he met Cassia, who was sharing an online relationship with one of his friends.

Cassia, from Brazil, started dating Jason when her relationship with that friend ended and she moved to the United States to live with him and his father.

Early in 2018, Jason filed for divorce amidst filed charges against him.

The two actually said that they were not willing to work through their problems and Cassia said that he looked at the charges against him as a joke. However, something changed after that.

Jason withdrew his divorce petition and the two are working on making their marriage work once again.

11 Still together: DANNY AND AMY

Danny and Amy met in season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé while the two were on a Bible study trip in Austrailia at the same time.

Danny was from Pennsylvania and Amy was from South Africa, and the two fell in love. Amy moved to America to marry Danny and lived with his brother until their marriage.

The couple was married and ended up moving to Texas together to raise their family. That union now includes two children — one boy (Jedidiah) and a girl (Anna), and they seem very happy as a family.

As a matter of fact, they posted a very joyous Instagram photo late last year of the family heading out for a “much-needed” vacation to visit family, saying that their “heart is full.”

10 Still together: MARK AND NIKKI

Mark and Nikki was a very controversial pairing from the third season of 90 Day Fiancé. Mark was a 58-year-old from Baltimore when he started to date Nikki, a 19-year-old from the Philippines.

Not only was there an almost 40-year age difference, but Mark has four adult children that were all older than Nikki.

The two married but there is almost no chance that TLC will promote anything about the couple in the future.

The series painted Mark as a very controlling husband and that angered him so he filed multiple lawsuits against the network and the TV show.

The lawsuits were thrown out, and while the couple has left the public eye when it comes to celebrity fame, they remain married according to various reports.

When it comes to the relationship between Molly and Luis, it didn’t last long at all. They met on the fifth season of 90 Day Fiancé, which aired in 2017. Molly, from Georgia, met Luis at a bar he worked at when she visited the Dominican Republic.

Luis, 15 years younger than Molly, got married within the 90 days for his visa period, although they never had a wedding.

Luis ended up leaving Molly during the season for a myriad of reasons. He did not get along with her two children and did not want to be a father.

He did return for the finale of season 5, but then in January 2018, Molly filed for divorce from Luis.

The divorce was finalized in May and Luis remained in the United States but lives in a different state that Molly.

8 Still together: MELANIE AND DEVAR

Devar was a lifeguard at a resort in Jamaica when Melanie met him while vacationing there. Melanie had married before and had a child with her ex-husband.

While she was still there on vacation, and shortly after the two had met, Devar proposed to her and she accepted.

They moved back to Pennsylvania together and while some of Melanie’s family did not trust Devar, they married anyway.

Despite the distrust of family and Melanie even talking on 90 Day Fiancé about getting a prenuptial agreement to protect her money, they have remained married and made their union work.

The two later appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After and are not only still married, but have a baby girl that was born in November 2017 named Avah.

7 Still together: JOSH AND ALEKSANDRA

Josh was on a mission trip for the Church of Latter Day Saints in Prague when he met Aleksandra Iarovikova, a Russian who was attending university there.

While Iarovikova was an atheist, she soon found religion and converted to the LDS church. The former go-go dancer turned her life around and started to date Josh, the two getting married in 2015.

The two couple ended up as one of the first 90 Day Fiancé unions to give birth to a child — which they announced at the reunion episode.

That baby, Kaya, was born in March 2016. Josh started medical school in 2018 and the two have moved to Austrailia, where he attends the University of Queensland and the two remain happily married as they make a new life for themselves in their new country.

6 Still together: NARKYIA AND OLULOWO

Olulowo, a Nigerian, met Narkyla thanks to an online dating service for plus-sized women.

There was controversy in this season four coupling as friends of Narkyla was worried that Olulowo was a scammer and was using her for money — although he never asked for any.

Their relationship almost ended early when she found out he was trying to get back with an old flame who he had a child with.

However, Olulowo realized that it was Narkyla that he wanted to be with and they reunited and he moved to the United States to marry her. This surprised many people as the couple ignored all the warning signs in their relationship.

The two seemed to have problems in their relationship over the years, but they are still together at this time.

Jesse and Darcey were part of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off Before the 90 Days and the difference was that this series followed the couples before the 90-day visa period.

Instead of focusing on the two getting married before the 90 days was up and allowing the work visas to come through, this one was about the actual start of their relationship together.

This couple shared one of the most tumultuous relationships on the show. This even included Darcey attacking fans online and starting arguments with even those that supported the couple on the series.

Jesse made accusations towards Darcey as well, and this was just the latest of the fights — both on the series and behind-the-scenes. The two finally separated in March 2018.

4 Still together: MATT AND ALLA

Matt and Alla appeared in 90 Day Fiancé season 4. Matt, from Kentucky, had met Alla, from Kiev, years before when using an online dating service.

However, they lost touch because Matt got married. After Matt divorced his third wife, the two reconnected, and by this time, Alla had a son of her own.

The relationship was hard at first, as Matt talked about being cheated on in the past and Alla made comments that she was not sure she loved him.

Despite this, the two married anyway and live together in Ohio. The two remain together to this day, living in Ohio.

Alla also had her sister move to the United States as well and the two have actually started a new business called the Lash & Brow Studio.

3 Still together: CHANTEL AND PEDRO

Chantel was on a vacation in the Dominican Republic when she met Pedro, after an introduction by a Spanish teacher.

Chantel fell for him and began to make more trips to the Dominican Republic to see him before he finally proposed to her.

The couple faced a lot of problems on the fourth season of 90 Day Fiancé mostly due to their individual families disrespecting each other.

While Chantel’s family did not trust Pedro and he sent a lot of money back to his family making it look like their marriage was not on the up-and-up, the two were able to create a new life for themselves together.

Chantel is now in nursing school and while her family still doesn’t approve of the marriage, it seems to be still going strong.

2 Still together: EVELYN AND DAVID

One of the most recent couples on 90 Day Fiancé to make their marriage work is Evelyn and David from season five.

David is from Spain and Molly from New Hampshire. The biggest controversy from this pairing is that Molly was only 18 when the two met.

David met Molly when he saw something about her band on Facebook and made contact with her.

While David did not want to live in a small town, he ended up moving to New Hampshire anyway and the two married.

The two seemed very innocent, with Molly very young and David a devout Christian that refused to talk about their personal romantic relationship on camera.

The two remain in New Hampshire and married while Evelyn works on her music aspirations.

Nicole and Azan were part of two different seasons of 90 Day Fiancé. They started out in season four when they met on an online dating service — Nicole from Florida and Azan from Morocco.

Nicole left her child with her sister so she could go to Morocco for five weeks to get to know Azan. T

hings were rough from the start, neither agreeing to convert to the other’s religion, Nicole admitting to cheating on him, and Azan making disparaging comments about her weight.

Despite this, they agreed to get married but had to put it off since they could not afford the costs of him coming to the United States and Nicole’s mother refusing to help.

They remained together, albeit living in different countries until they broke off their wedding plans earlier in 2018.

Can you think of any other 90 Day Fiancé couples that are still together or split up? Let us know in the comments!

As ‘American Idol’ eliminates a ’90 Day Fiance’ star, it’s a reminder of a harsh reality TV lesson

Evelyn Cormier, a former star of “90 Day Fiance,” auditions on “American Idol.” (Nicole Rivelli/ABC) (Nicole Rivelli /ABC)By Emily YahrEmily Yahr Style reporter covering pop culture and entertainment April 16, 2019

These days, it’s common to see aspiring reality stars jump from one show to another: “Bachelor” contestants head to “Marriage Boot Camp,” or “Big Brother” competitors go on “The Amazing Race.” However, contestants often learn that the reputation from your first show typically carries over to the next — sometimes with unfortunate consequences.

This situation cropped up recently on “American Idol,” which is enjoying its second season on ABC after being canceled by Fox. Evelyn Cormier, a 20-year-old teacher from New Hampshire, was immediately recognizable when she appeared on the first round of auditions in March; her first reality TV gig was in fall 2017, as one of the stars of TLC’s hit “90 Day Fiance.”

Cormier’s story line on “90 Day Fiance,” which involved lots of bickering with her husband-to-be, was not well-received by many viewers and appeared to contribute to harsh online criticism during “Idol.” While certain fans loved her and the judges praised her vocals (Katy Perry deemed Cormier “one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in my life”), as soon as she made the Top 14 round this week, viewers finally had the chance to vote. And on Monday night, they eliminated her from the competition.

Granted, some people just didn’t enjoy her self-proclaimed “odd” voice, or her Sunday performance of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle.” But even a brief scroll through Twitter, Facebook comments or “Idol” forums showed viewers who connected her “90 Day Fiance” stint to her current show, declaring they weren’t fans then and they weren’t fans now.

It didn’t matter that Cormier’s portrayal on “Idol” as the sweet, quirky singer was the polar opposite of her edit on “90 Day Fiance” as the controlling, self-centered bride. It’s a harsh lesson of starring on a reality show: First impressions, especially negative ones, tend to stick.

Cormier’s past reality show experience didn’t come up at all in her first audition, at least in the edited-for-TV version — even though the judges asked about her wedding ring and were shocked when she told them she got married at age 18. In her pretaped introduction, Cormier talked about her husband, David, and said “the biggest issue was that he was from Spain. David and I did long-distance for a while, and then he was finally able to come to the United States.”

Of course, that’s the entire premise of “90 Day Fiance”: The show follows couples in which one person is an American citizen, and the other is from another country. As soon as they arrive in America, the clock starts ticking on their K-1 visa, which gives them 90 days to decide whether they want to get married.

On Cormier and her husband’s season, the two were shown arguing almost constantly leading up to their nuptials. While every reality show needs drama, their scenes became uncomfortable: Memorable moments included a conversation about the American Dream in which Cormier told David, “There’s no such thing as a European dream.” David made Cormier’s best friend cry when he said, “You sound like someone who’s not dating anyone.” During one fight about how much money to spend on the wedding, and a discussion of the culture clash, Cormier replied bluntly, “You’re in America now.”

They eventually got married in October 2017 and, unlike some couples on the show, are still together.

“90 Day Fiance” also served as a promotional vehicle for Cormier’s singing career, as she performed in a family band. It worked: Cormier told In Touch Weekly that an “American Idol” producer noticed her and recruited her to try out this season.

On Sunday night’s episode, before her performance of “The Middle,” Cormier finally brought up her first brush with fame in her introductory video.

“This isn’t actually my first time on television. I was on a reality show called ‘90 Day Fiance,’ ” Cormier told the camera. “But ultimately, I’d rather be recognized for my music.”

Yet Cormier didn’t make the cut Monday — she landed in the bottom seven fan-voted finalists. And although the judges didn’t save her (they were allowed to save three contestants to make up the Top 10, who will perform next week), they all offered encouragement.

“This is probably the beginning of your long career,” Lionel Richie told her.

“You’re graceful, you’re beautiful, I’m a huge fan of you, and I think you’re on your way to becoming a spectacular artist,” Perry said.

Luke Bryan encouraged her to ignore her haters: “Don’t take this ‘America’s vote’ and let it start changing what you are.”

Katy Perry Left Stunned by 90 Day Fiancé Star Evelyn Cormier During American Idol Auditions

Katy Perry has a new “favorite voice” — and she’s already a familiar face on reality TV.

90 Day Fiancé star Evelyn Cormier left the pop chart-topper stunned following her performance during the audition round of American Idol in the episode that aired Sunday night. Performing an acoustic rendition of Chris Isaak’s 1989 hit “Wicked Games,” Cormier earned kind words from fellow Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

But it was Perry, 34, who seemed particularly blown away by her vocals, proclaiming her “one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in my life” as the last notes faded away. “Evelyn, pick the right songs,” she continued. “You are my favorite voice.”

Richie also had lots of praise for the talented 19-year-old. “You have a sound that’s yours. I love the air. I don’t know what you’re doing, but whatever it is it’s an absolutely amazing identity.”

He added, “I’m thrilled that we have you. is something that we want to showcase. It’s something that we want to show off.”

Before they realized her reality star status, the trio of judges mused on which actress Cormier most resembled. Perry suggested Anne Hathaway, but Bryan, 42, was getting strong Rachel McAdams vibes — which worked out great because Cormier cited The Notebook as her favorite movie!

Cormier’s husband — and 90 Day Fiancé costar — David Vázquez Zermeño was nearby, cheering her on from the waiting area.

On Sunday he posted a video of her audition to Instagram along with some thrilling news: she’s going to Hollywood!

Cormier first revealed that she tried out for the show in an Instagram post shared back in December.
