Celine Dion is celebrating her first born.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer took to Instagram on Saturday to wish her eldest son, René-Charles Angelil, a happy 19th birthday. To celebrate his special day, Dion posted a cute baby pic of him and a more recent one of them together.

“My dear René-Charles, I’m so proud of the way you’re conducting yourself in life. You’re a true gentleman, and I want you to know that your father’s guidance continues to support and protect you… as I do,” Dion wrote. “Keep being the best of yourself… strong, passionate, and wise, as you pursue all of your dreams in life – the sky’s the limit!”

“And above all, have a good time!…. Your happiness, is my happiness,” she continued. “I love you so much, my dear son! Mom xx…”

Dion is also mother to 9-year-old twins, Eddy and Nelson. It’s been a month of reflection and heartache for the music icon. Dion’s mother, Thérèse Tanguay-Dion, died on Jan. 16, after months of battling serious health issues.

The singer paid tribute to her late mother the following day during her show in Miami, where she recalled her final moments with Thérèse.

“We got a call from the nurses who were taking care of her so well, saying that her time was coming soon. Very soon,” she described. “So last night, I joined my brothers and sisters in Montreal and I spent the evening at her bedside. We told stories, we sang songs, we hugged each other.”

That same week, she also honored her late husband and his “beautiful smile” on the four-year anniversary of his death.

“There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile,” she wrote. “We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you. Céline xx…”

Celine Dion is one proud mom. The singer took to Instagram to share a touching tribute for her oldest son René-Charles Angélil in honor of his 19th birthday. Dion’s late husband sadly lost his battle with cancer at the age of 74 in 2016, 22 years after the couple – who also welcomed twins Eddy and Nelson in 2010 — tied the knot.

Celine Dion took a moment out from her world tour to wish her eldest son a happy birthday on Instagram and the now-and-then pictures are too cute to be believed.

Dion has three sons that she shared with her late husband, René Angélil, who passed away in 2016. Her oldest, René-Charles, turned 19 on Saturday. The singer was sure to mention her late husband in the post.

“My dear René-Charles, I’m so proud of the way you’re conducting yourself in life,” Dion wrote, sharing the message in both French and English. “You’re a true gentleman, and I want you to know that your father’s guidance continues to support and protect you… as I do.”

Dion, 51 and Angélil, who was 73 at the time of his death, had a storied romance that included many ups and downs. He managed the singer’s career from the time she was a teenager, and the pair wed in a lavish ceremony at Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica in 1994. When Angélil was diagnosed with cancer, the couple underwent IVF to ensure they could become parents when they were ready. René-Charles was born in 2001 and twin sons Nelson and Eddy were welcomed in 2010.

In January 2016, Angélil passed away from throat cancer. Since then, Dion has continued to keep his memory alive and celebrate the family they made together.

On the twins’ birthday in October, Dion shared rare photos of the boys and a happy birthday wish to both of them.

“Double the laughter and double the love. Happy 9th Birthday, Nelson and Eddy! I’m so very proud of my boys. I love you! – Mom xx” Dion posted, sharing two pictures of the dark-haired boys.

Last year, on René-Charles’ 18th birthday, Dion posted a similar tribute, sharing a candid photo and a message of encouragement.

“…Your father continues to guide you, helping you to make the right choices. And I am here to walk beside you and always embrace you with my unconditional love,” she wrote.

“Courage,” released this past November, is Dion’s first album since her husband’s death. Dion embarked on the Courage World Tour in support of the album in November, her first world tour in over a decade. The tour will take her to cities in Europe, the Middle East and North America before concluding in September 2020.

Update, January 26, 2018: Celine Dion couldn’t be prouder of the young man her oldest son’s become, according to a sweet Instagram the singer posted yesterday. “I love you more and more each day,” she wrote for René-Charles Angelil’s 17th birthday.

Commenters couldn’t believe how old the teen looked, especially now that he’s sporting a beard! “When did he grow up!?” one Instagrammer wrote. “He grew overnight!” another said. We feel you both.

Like any other high schooler, René-Charles has been busy posting plenty of pictures on his own Instagram: hockey, golf, backstage moments with Drake and Rihanna … So not like a typical high schooler at all really. This kid young man just proves it’s hard not being awesome with such a super star for a mom.

Recently, the singer and her son were photographed making peace signs in front of the jersey of Canadian hockey player P.K. Subban, who uploaded the picture to his Instagram. Saban is clearly as much a fan of Dion and her kid as they are of him, captioning the photo, “Only four days until site launch! Special thanks to Celine Dion, a big Habs fan.”

René is not just a hockey fan — he plays the sport, too. Just a few weeks ago, he posted a video of himself playing with his team to Instagram. He’s also shared a few photos of his typical teenage life. You know, like posing in his cool shades with his friends next a roller coaster during a visit to an amusement park. Celine Dion pays emotional tribute to dead husband as 16 year Las Vegas residency ends

Celine Dion paid an emotional tribute to her late husband René Angélil as she bowed out of her Las Vegas residency on Saturday.

The 51-year-old music legend was joined by her three sons, 18-year-old René-Charles Angelil and eight-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy Angelil, as she celebrated the life of her husband, their father, who died in 2016 aged 73.

The Canadian songstress looked emotional as she took to the stage for the final time in Las Vegas as she brought her world famous residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to a close after 1,141 performances.

Joined by her sons, Celine turned to a screen behind her which showed an image of her late husband who died following a battle with cancer three years ago.

“I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at the Colosseum since we began sixteen years ago, when René and I first shared this dream,” Celine said after her final performance.

“This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career…one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love,” she said.

René was Celine’s manager as well as her husband – with the pair originally meeting when she was just 12-years-old and he was 38 after Celine’s late brother Michel Dion sent the music manager a demo tape of her singing.

Celine and René later embarked on their life-long romance in 1987 when she was 19 and he was 45.

The couple became engaged in 1991 and wed on 17 December 1994 when she was 26 and he was 52 – and remained blissfully married until René’s death.

Celine has previously discussed how her own mother opposed her relationship with René after they met when she was not yet a teen – but said he eventually won everyone over.

“It was very difficult for her,” Celine told Access Hollywood in 2013.

Celine will soon embark on a new world tour (Image: (Credit too long, see caption))

“When I told her I had some really strong feelings for René she tried everything to kill him and make me snap out of it. I was very frustrated and mad at first but she tried to make me understand that this man tried marriage twice before, he has three children, he’s not responsible,” she continued.

“She said, ‘You’re my daughter, you’re my baby and I want the perfect Prince Charming for you.’ And then it was so strong that my whole family was in love with him and she had no choice,” Celine added.

Celine and René went on to have their three sons together – and Celine admitted she would struggle to accept her boys starting a romance with older women who were already mothers.

“When I had my first son, RC, if I think of him and he comes with this lady who has kids and she’s 45 and she think she knows best, like, ‘Take your hand off of my son’,” she said.

Celine is due to embark on a world tour in September with dates across North America running until late April 2020.

Ahead of this tour, the star will jet to London to headline the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park festival on Friday 5 July.

She is also set to release a brand new album, titled Courage, in November.

Celine Dion’s son is all grown up!

Celine Dion has had a rough couple of years, losing both her husband, René Angélil, and her brother Daniel to cancer within just two days of each other in 2016.

But things appear to be on the up and up for the “My Heart Will Go On” singer, who recorded an album in French, toured Europe and Canada with sell-out shows and is working on yet another album – all within the space of two years.

And through it all, she’s had her children by her side. To celebrate the birthday of her eldest son, 17-year-old René-Charles Angélil, Dion shared a rare photo of the two together – and we can’t believe how much he’s grown up.

“I love you more and more each day, and I’m so proud of the young man that you’ve become,” the 49-year-old captioned the sweet snap.

Like any other high school kid, René-Charles documents his life on Instagram, but unlike most of his peers, he’s sharing photos with the likes of sports legends and music stars such as Rihanna and Drake.

All Céline Dion needs to have a merry Christmas is some quality time with her three boys.

The Grammy-winning singer posted a sweet photo on Monday with her son René-Charles, 17, twins Nelson and Eddy, 8, and their two family dogs in front of the Christmas tree as they get ready for the holiday.

“May your heart and home be filled with warmth, peace and love,” she wrote. “Happy Holidays everyone!”

Dion has become particularly close with her sons since the death of husband René Angélil at 73 from cancer nearly three years ago on Jan. 14, 2016.

She often slept in the same bed with the twins as she grieved Angélil’s loss, keeping them close to help comfort her.

Celine Dion to KLG: My late husband Rene lives on in my heart

July 22, 201605:50

“It’s been a journey. It’s been hard,” she told TODAY six months after his death. “Seeing the love of your life suffering for the last three years has been really hard, but millions of people are going through this. I feel very strong because, not only that he loved me so much — for many, many lives to come — (but he) gave me three magnificent kids, so much knowledge, stability and confidence.”

She has also opened up about the routine she shared with the twins before bedtime to remember Angélil.

“We kiss him every night,” she told The Sun last year. “We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky.”

The Canadian star has also thrown her energy into launching a gender-neutral kids’ clothing line, Celinununu, which she debuted with a wacky video last month showing her getting arrested.

Celine Dion is basically a unicorn of a human being. Is there anything about this woman that doesn’t exude class, grace, and buckets of talent? She seems to have a bit of the Midas touch when it comes to life.

Celine grew up as part of a giant family full of music and love. She then became a worldwide singing sensation before she even had armpit hair. The man who took her under his creative wing and mortgaged his own home in order to create her debut record turned out to truly be her Prince Charming and the love of her life. She is so rich that she could probably wipe her behind with hundred dollar bills for the rest of her days. She has managed to create a gorgeous family against all odds.

Of course, the Goddess Celine didn’t birth mere mortal children full of sass and snot like the rest of us. Her young sons are turning into princely young men before our very eyes. Here are fifteen things you might not have known about Celine Dion’s children. Spoiler alert: they make our own kids look like total heathens. Perhaps Celine should write a parenting book, if she ever steps away from the entertainment industry.

14 The Older Step Son Is REALLY Older

Vocal powerhouse Celine Dion has truly only loved one man in her life and that is the late Rene Angelil. The forever couple started dating when Celine was only twenty-years-old and Rene was forty-six. The relationship was raised a lot of eyebrows, not just because of the age difference, but even more so because Rene had had Celine under his wing since she was twelve-years-old. The two let nothing stand in the way of their love and were married in a lavish ceremony in 1994. It was then that Celine gained a husband and three stepchildren as Rene had a son from his first marriage and two kids from his second union. The icing on the wedding cake? Rene’s first born son is actually older than Celine Dion.

13 Their Conception Was No Joke

Celine and Rene knew that starting a family was most likely going to be an uphill battle, especially regarding Rene’s advanced age at the time of conception. During the first few months of 2000, Dion announced to her adoring fans that she would be going on a hiatus from her singing career to completely focus on starting a family with her husband. Becoming a mother had taken precedence above all else, and Dion was determined to make that dream come true. In May of that same year, she underwent two surgical procedures at a New York fertility clinic to help her finally become pregnant. Her determination and perseverance to become a parent certainly paid off, when her firstborn son, Rene Charles, was finally placed in her arms.

12 Names Meant For Heros

Seven years after Rene Charles was born, Celine and Rene Sr. welcomed a few more boys to the brood when they gave birth to twin boys. The little blessings were given the names Eddie and Nelson, which are fairly uncommon names for little dudes by today’s standards. While Tinsel town is famous for naming their children odd names such as Moonbeam and Apple, the Angelil twins’ monikers weren’t just another couple of names dreamed up by Hollywood’s eccentric, their names actually have some heavy meaning behind them. Little Nelson was named after the great Nelson Mandela and his twin brother Eddie was named in honor of the famed French-Jewish songwriter Eddie Marnay. Celine made sure that her boys came into the world already equipped with legacy-leaving names.

11 Third Time’s The Charm

After marrying in 1994, Rene And Celine stayed united and in love until Rene passed away in 2016, after a long battle with throat cancer. While Rene was the one and only love of Dion’s life, her husband had a few loves before Celine was even born! He had been through two marriages and fathered three children before finally getting things right the third time around. Rene married his first wife, Duquette Denyse, after dating for only ten days. The pair stayed married for six years and had a son named Daniel, who is older than Celine! Rene then went on to marry for the second time and have two more children with Canadian pop star Anne Renee, whom he also managed. In this case the old saying, ‘third time’s the charm’, actually proved to be true for Angelil when he married and stayed married up until his death.

10 The Boys Were Really Wanted

Celine and her husband Rene went under pretty invasive medical procedures when trying to conceive their first son Rene Charles. Celine even put her explosive musical career on hold to focus on creating the family of her dreams with the love of her life. Years after Rene Charles arrived safely into the world, his parents started really aching for another little one. They did finally welcome twin sons into the family, but the road to complete was certainly riddled with heartache and strife. Celine endured a whopping seven failed in-vitro attempts in her quest to give Rene Charles, or RC as many call him, a younger sibling. She also sadly experienced the heartache of at least one miscarriage in there too. Ms. Celine Dion is a lot of things, but quitter she is not.

9 Canadian Roots For R.C.

Celine Dion: a hockey mom? You betcha! She has deep-running Canadian roots so of course it was kind of a no-brainer that at least one of her sons would take up the ultimate Northern past time. Celine’s oldest son, Rene Charles, is reportedly all about slapping the puck around and his famous mother could not be more proud. RC currently plays for a Las Vegas-based U16 team, the Jr. Golden Knights and his mother makes sure that she is front and center for his games. Those who have seen Celine cheering her boy on, say she is an absolute hoot, whooping, hollering and dancing around, while she roots for her all-time favorite player. The Canadian mama truly revels in watching her own child connect with his Canadian roots through Canada’s favorite sport.

8 Fake News Scare

The recent Las Vegas shooting hit way close to home for songbird Celine Dion and her family. This past fall, a shooter opened fire from a Las Vegas hotel and casino inflicting levels of devastation on human life that this country had never seen before. In the end, fifty-eight innocent men, women, and children lost their lives while rocking out at a Las Vegas Country music concert. Dion has called Las Vegas, Nevada, home for years and within days of the massacre, reports started popping up all over the internet claiming that young Rene Charles was one of the shooting victims! Thankfully, the reports were totally false and RC was safe at home with his mother. We have no doubt that Celine, like many of us, hugged her boys extra tight that evening.

7 Rene Charles Is Mature Beyond His Years

How on earth did little Rene Charles grow up so fast? One minute he was a bouncing seven-year-old boy running circles around his mother and father, and the next minute he appeared to be nearly a grown man. We literally blinked and no longer recognized the little guy. Rene Charles doesn’t only look far more mature than his young teen years, but he reportedly acts in a mature manner as well. While other teen boys are raising hell and causing their mothers to lose sleep, this kid carries himself with his mother’s air of class and dignity. The teen is so mature that he was able to single-handedly pull off his late father’s eulogy. How the kid remained composed through all that we will never know. Most of us had to take a personal day after the crock-pot episode of This Is Us!

6 Missing Papa

Celine and her sons lost Rene Charles to throat cancer long before they were ready to let him go. Celine’s world was rocked to the core as she had pretty much spent her entire life with Rene by her side, (he started managing her singing career when she was only twelve years of age). Their sons were hit hard by the loss of their father too. The twins were only five-years-old when their father passed away and according to sources still miss him and speak to him every single evening. Their father might not be with them in the physical sense, but the children fully believe he is with them in spirit and let him know that they love and miss him every day. Celine also still speaks to her late husband every chance she gets.

5 Bilingual Babies

Considering Celine is a French-Canadian (as was her late hubby), it seemed only natural that their children would also speak both English and French. Celine and Rene decided to speak equal parts of both languages to their kids when they were very young. Fans and Oprah Winfrey viewers alike got to catch a glimpse of this unique method of child-rearing when the family appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show just months after the twins were born. These boys are certainly going to grow up to be a trio of catches. Even though the twins are years away from adulthood, they are handsome, intelligent and kind, traits that will certainly prove handy in later years. Rene Charles is on the cusp of manhood and already exhibits the maturity, sportsmanship, and brilliance of a grown man.

4 No Lonely Nights

Rene Angelil has been gone now for a couple of years, but the loss of him doesn’t mean that Mama Celine’s bed has not been warmed by another. Before tongues go a waggin’ though, we should clarify that Celine’s bed mates are only her young twin sons. After Rene’s passing, Celine purposely organized her life in a way where she didn’t have to feel a deep sense of loneliness. One way she combats the crushing grief is to have her twin sons sleep beside her each and every night. After Rene’s passing, Celine went out and bought a huge bed so that the family could easily slumber together. The family matriarch has no shame in discussing how badly she needs her children close to her at all times, as she moves through the devastating loss of her one true love.

3 Music Is In Their Genes

To say that Celine Dion has music coursing through her perfect, refined veins would be a vast understatement. She was pretty much destined for greatness from the very start of her life. Her family toured Canada performing as the group ‘Dion’s Family’ before opening a small piano bar called The Old Barrel where Celine practiced her singing chops. The woman is even named after a popular French song. Knowing that Rene Charles’s mother sings just about as easily as she breathes, it is not surprising that he too has some musical talent down in his soul. You can listen to him playing around with tunes as he puts his own spin on a song from The Weeknd HERE. Maybe if we are lucky, mother and son will someday put out a duet!

2 Rene The Rock

Celine is one seriously lucky lady when it comes to her sons. While most teen boys are focused on girls, sports and havoc Rene Charles is focused on just being a good kid and a great help to his mother. Excuse us while we all swoon for a second. She has gone on record gushing about what a great, responsible teenager he is, saying that she truly could not be more proud of the man he is becoming. Celine continues to be in awe of how well her children have handled the passing of their father and says that they lean on her and she leans on them. Mama Celine also makes it crystal-clear that while Rene is nothing but a dream of a son to her – she never makes him feel as if it is his responsibility to take the place as the man of the house. She encourages him to follow his own goals and dreams.

1 Almost Triplets

There aren’t many other famous couples who underwent as many trials and tribulations as Celine and her husband did when it came to conceiving their children. In order to end up with their three beautiful sons, Celine endured seven grueling rounds of in-vitro fertilization and suffered at least one miscarriage. Celine and Rene’s twin sons, Eddie and Nelson, actually started out as triplets. Multiples are pretty common in older couples who undergo the invitro process in order to conceive, so it wasn’t all that surprising that the Angelils ended up with a bonus baby. Celine likes to think that the lost triplet gave his life for the other two little guys to safely grow and be born. That is such a sweet way to think about that type of loss.

The family faced even more heartache earlier in the month, when Celine’s mother Thérèse passed away at the age of 92. At the concert, Celine told the audience: “I’m pretty sure that you heard the news about my mum passing away early this morning. But I’m doing okay and we’re all okay. So last night I joined my brothers and sisters in Montreal, and I spent the evening at her bedside. We told stories. We sang songs. We hugged each other and we said our goodbyes.” The singer also explained that her mother wouldn’t have wanted her to cancel tour dates, continuing: “We are pretty sure that mum waited for us to be all together one more time. I know she wanted me to be the best of myself tonight and I also know that she wanted all of you to have the time of your life.”

Céline Dion is celebrating her son René-Charles Angélil on his 19th birthday.

On Saturday, the music icon shared a sweet tribute on Instagram, praising her son for his accomplishments and for being a “true gentleman.”

Last Friday, Dion confirmed the news on Instagram, telling fans that her tour will continue and that the evening’s concert in Miami, Florida, will go on — dedicated in her mother’s memory.

LONDON – Celine Dion has written a touching tribute to her son Rene-Charles to mark his 19th birthday.

The 51-year-old singer has taken to Instagram to lavish praise on her eldest son, whose father is her late husband Rene Angelil, who died of throat cancer at age 73 in 2016.

Meanwhile, Celine recently insisted she is “doing okay” after her mother Therese’s passing.

The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker claimed she is doing well following the death of her mother as she performed her Courage World Tour in Florida on Friday night (17.01.20).

Speaking to the crowds at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, she said: “I’m pretty sure that you heard the news about my mom passing away early this morning. But I’m doing okay. My mom was 92. She was ill for quite a while.

“And we knew she wouldn’t be with us long. Two days ago, we got a call from the nurses who were taking care of her so well, saying that her time was coming soon. Very soon.

“So last night, I joined my brothers and sisters in Montreal and I spent the evening at her bedside. We told stories. We sang songs. We hugged each other. And we said our goodbyes. We are pretty sure that mom waited for us to be all together before she passed.”

Celine Dion shared rare photos of her 9-year-old twin sons, Nelson and Eddy, to celebrate their birthday Wednesday.

“Double the laughter and double the love. Happy 9th Birthday, Nelson and Eddy! I’m so very proud of my boys. I love you! —Mom xx…” Dion, 51, captioned a pair of adorable pics she shared on Instagram.

Dion has three children: Nelson, Eddy and oldest son René-Charles, 18, with her late husband René Angélil, who died of cancer at age 73 in 2016.

The “My Heart Goes On” singer is currently performing in the United States as part of her “Courage World Tour.” Next month, she is slated to release “Courage,” her first English language album since Angélil’s death.

Though she’s entering a new era in her life, Dion told TODAY last month she isn’t interested in dating.

“I don’t date. I’m not ready to date,” she shared. “I’m very lucky and happy to have so many people in my surrounding to make me — they make me laugh.”

Although she’s not ready for romance just yet, Dion isn’t ruling it out for the future. In fact, she doesn’t rule anything out — including the possibility of marrying again.

“I keep my soul and my heart open,” she said. “Because I am so much (about) love, you know — with my fans and my children and my family. And I feel that love, and it keeps me going. But love, love, love, love, love — the true love, the romance, the romantic love — is not present. But it’s OK.”

On Instagram, Angélil shared his excitement sharing a screenshot of the songs on SoundCloud with the caption, “I woke up like dis…. #ChartTopper.”

He also shared a screenshot of “Catwalks (Sidewalks Remix)” as No. 2 on SoundCloud’s Canadian chart and “Loft Music Remix” as No. 5.

Angélil is the oldest son of Dion and René Angélil, who died in January 2016 “after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” a rep told PEOPLE at the time.

Dion, 50, and the late music manager shared three children, including twin sons Nelson and Eddy, 7.

Dion, who celebrated her birthday in April, told USA TODAY that she was looking forward to just spending time with her kids on her special day.

“I said to everybody, a couple of months before: ‘Listen to me. I want nothing. No party. Today is my day. I want to be in my pajamas. I want to take as long as I want to sip my coffee. I want to be with my kids,'” she said.

She added that she wasn’t celebrating turning 51, but rather that she was turning 1.

“And I decided I am not going to be 51,” Dion said. “I’m now (starting over as) 1 year old. So I pushed that chapter of 50 pages behind me. So I’m 1 year old. I’m starting again.”
