As part of the Apple Black Friday event, you can get free gift cards worth up to £160 / $200.

Just like previous years, Apple isn’t directly discounting any products.

So don’t expect to buy an iPhone from the Apple Store at rock bottom prices.

Instead, you’ll receive a gift card on qualifying purchases, based on the amount you’ve spent.

It goes right up to £160 / $200, although you’ll need to spend quite a lot to claim that.

The top gift card on offer is the same value as the 2018 Black Friday event, and £40 / $50 more than the year before.

But it’s a hefty sum: A £160 gift card would let you buy a pair of Apple AirPods (£159) outright.

You’ll need to fork out on a pricey Mac product to get a full gift card.

And buying a cheaper product like an Apple Watch gets you the minimum payout.

You can spend an Apple Store Gift Card at official Apple Retail Stores, or on the Apple Online Store here (UK) or here (US).

Apple’s Black Friday event began on November 29 and runs for four days, ending as Cyber Monday comes to a close.

If you’re looking for proper Apple discounts, you’ll need to look outside of Apple Stores and the official website.

Many retailers like Currys or John Lewis are slashing the price of Apple gear.

And iPhone fans will be able to pick up huge bargains at online phone retailers.

For instance, this cheap iPhone 11 deal gets you the handset for £33 a month with 60GB of data, with a £55 upfront fee.

A similar deal gets you the phone with 100GB of data for £40 a month with no upfront fee.

All prices in this article were correct at the time of writing, but may have since changed. Always do your own research before making any purchase.

Apple announces its Black Friday deals: up to $200 Apple Store gift card with device purchase

Apple has announced its official Black Friday shopping event, which runs from Black Friday (Friday 29th) through Cyber Monday (December 2nd).

Following the release of Apple’s official guide, Apple is teasing its Apple Store deals today with a homepage banner, inviting customers to ‘save the date’. The company will offer up to $200 gift cards with the purchase of eligible Apple products like iPhones, iPads, and Macs. As is usual, third-party sellers like Amazon will almost certainly beat Apple on deal prices.

The exact details of the offer are yet to be announced. Apple says that gift card values vary based on products purchased, so be wary of the “up to” phrasing. It’s likely that some of Apple’s newest products will be ineligible for any gift card at all.

Gift card giveaways are Apple’s usual approach to holiday shopping deals. Rather than discount the price of its premium devices, it gives away a gift card with the purchase. With a $200 maximum value, users could get Apple AirPods ‘for free’ this Friday through Monday.

The Apple Shopping Event is taking place in many regions around the world, with up to £160 gift cards in the UK, 200 euros in Europe, and CAD$280 in Canada.

Of course, the Apple Store is not known for offering the most competitive Black Friday deals. The MacBook Air is already sold at $200 discount from list price and the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro is already discounted by a hundred dollars at Amazon before any real Black Friday promotions kick in.

We’ll have to wait and see which products qualify for the full $200 gift card and which don’t. In most cases, you are likely to find better value for money outside of the Apple Store. For instance, sites like Amazon and Staples are selling the 10.2-inch iPad for $249 — an $80 reduction over the normal price where Apple is likely to only give a $30-$50 gift card.

Apart from iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and other Apple products, you are also going to find iTunes and Apple gift cards on sale this Black Friday.

You can use the iTunes gift card to buy apps and games from the App Store, movies and music from the iTunes Store, and more. You can even use the gift card to buy an Apple Music subscription essentially getting the service at a discount. Similarly, you can also use the gift card to buy iCloud storage space, subscribe to Apple News+, Apple Arcade, and other Apple services.

Black Friday

Popular store chains that are offering Black Friday deals both at brick and mortar locations or online are listed below, with each of the Apple-related deals organized by product type.

Apple will offer Black Friday deals of its own, but as usual they won’t be quite as good as other retailers. You’ll be able to get up to a $200 Apple Store gift card with the purchase of select products between Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the United States.

We don’t yet know the full terms for the Apple offer, but last year most Macs came with a $200 gift card, while previous-generation iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch models were eligible for a $50 gift card. HomePod and Beats were also eligible for a $50 gift card, while the Apple TV was bundled with a $25 gift card.

Last year, the offer excluded the latest iPhone, iPad Pro, and Apple Watch models, as well as refurbished products, products purchased with an educational discount, and iPhones purchased via the iPhone Upgrade Program. AirPods, special edition Beats, and then-new MacBook Air and Mac mini models also did not qualify.

This event will run from November 29 through December 2 at Apple’s retail stores, on, and by phone at 1-800-APPLE. The offer will also be available in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and several other countries, with gift card amounts varying.

Target’s Black Friday sale is massive and extends across home furniture, clothing, and of course electronics. Target will open its doors at 5 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving evening, close them at 1 a.m. Friday morning, and then re-open at 7 a.m. Friday morning. Like most other stores, Target will also put some deals online ahead of time.

It should also be noted that Target RedCard holders and members of its Circle loyalty program will gain early access to Black Friday deals beginning the day before Thanksgiving, on November 27. We’ve broken down the retailer’s full offerings for the holiday in our Black Friday Spotlight post on Target.

Apple Products

Target will offer a free $200 Target gift card with qualified activation of an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max on Verizon or AT&T. This deal will be valid from 7 a.m. Black Friday through Sunday, December 1. The same offer will be available for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

Next up, the retailer will offer the Apple Watch Series 3 starting at $169.99 and totaling $30 savings across multiple styles. The newest Apple Watch, Series 5, will remain priced at its regular point starting at $399.99 for GPS and $499.99 for cellular.

There will be a chance for some App Store and iTunes gift card savings. Target plans to offer buy one, get one 30 percent off on these gift cards, where the lower-priced gift card will be 30 percent off. There is no specification yet on which tiers will be on sale, but you can likely expect the usual $25, $50, and $100 tiers. Under this sale, purchasing two $50 iTunes gift cards will cost you a total of $85 for $100 iTunes credit, which is the typical 15 percent off sale we usually see.

Lastly, right now Target has the AirPods with Charging Case on sale for $144.99, down from $159.99, and AirPods with Wireless Charging Case priced at $169.99, down from $199.99. Both sales will also be up for Black Friday, but these aren’t the lowest prices we’ve ever seen for either model, and in fact you can get them both for slightly cheaper right now on Amazon. Target lists the AirPods Pro, but there won’t be a sale on the latest model and it will still cost $249.99.

Black Friday is now behind us, but many of the deals are still active and will remain so through Cyber Monday (or beyond). In the “absolute best deals” section below, we’ve updated this list and struck through deals that are no longer active or where the items are no longer in stock as of Saturday morning. Check back with us on Cyber Monday, as we’ll have a new roundup of excellent deals.

This page focuses entirely on Apple-related deals, so you’re looking for a larger selection of Black Friday offers, check out the massive roundup at our sister life PCWorld.

The absolute best deals

There’s a ton of information to sort through below, so if you’re mainly interested in knowing where to find the products with the steepest discounts, we’ve collected them in this section.

  • AirPods: Amazon is selling the second-generation AirPods (with the non-wireless charging case) for $129, down from $159. Check for a restock, but these sold out quickly! If those aren’t in stock, they’re selling for $140 at Amazon.
  • Apple Pencil: Both generations of the Pencil are seeing all-time low prices at Amazon. The first-generation Apple Pencil is selling for $79, down from $99. Get the second-generation Apple Pencil (which you can only use with the new iPad Pros) for $120, down from $130.
  • Apple TV 4K: Get the 64GB model of Apple’s high-end set-top box at B&H Photo for $184 (down from $199). This the best price we’ve seen. You can also get the smaller 30GB model for $169, down from $179, but this isn’t quite an all-time low.

Amazon is matching this price, but you won’t see the discount until you check out. The larger 44mm model is selling for $384.99, down from Apple’s retail price of $429. Here’s the same deal on the 44mm model at Amazon.
  • App Store and iTunes gift cards: At Amazon, you get $100 App Store gift cards for $80. This is a lightning deal, though, so we don’t expect it will be around for long. You can get the same deal at Best Buy (for both physical and digital cards), At Target, buy one gift card at full price and buy a second for 30 percent off. See Target’s entry for more information.
  • HomePod: Best Buy is selling Apple’s smart speaker for just $199.99, down from $299.99. That’s easily the best price we’ve ever seen.
  • iPad: Amazon is already selling the 32GB 10.2-inch iPad for $249.99 $230, down from the normal retail price of $329. Target is selling it for this price as well, while Walmart and Staples have it for $250. You can also get one for just $100 if you also buy a new iPhone at Verizon.

  • iPad Pro: Get the latest 11-inch 64GB model (Wi-Fi-only) for $649.99, down from $799 at Amazon. Best Buy is also selling it for this price.
  • iPhone XS, XS Max, XR: Buy and activate an iPhone XS from Walmart, and you’ll get a $450 gift card. You’ll get $400 cards for either the iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR. If you trade in an eligible smartphone, you can get $250 Walmart gift card as well.

  • MacBook Air (2019): Apple’s latest MacBook Air (with the butterfly keyboard and Touch ID) is on sale at Amazon for an all-time low, but the $100 additional discount won’t show up until you go to checkout and check no-rush shipping. You can get the 128GB model for $799.99, down from $1,099.99. The 256GB model is selling for $1,099.99, down from $1,299.

You can take $200 off some of the most popular variations, which will let you walk away with one for $2,199 on the low end. Amazon now has a similar deal, but only a few models are in stock.
  • 15-inch MacBook Pro (2019): If you don’t mind the butterfly keyboard, B&H is offering up to $450 off this year’s model. Get this 256GB model for $2,000 (down from $2,400) or this 512GB model (in space gray or silver). These deals last through December 2.
  • 13-inch MacBook Pro: If you have a Costco membership, check out this new i7 13-inch MacBook Pro with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. It’s on sale for $1,499.99, down from $1,749.99. At Amazon, pick up an i5/8GB/128GB model for $1,499.99, down from $1,799.

Here’s a generally reliable Black Friday tradition: If you want the best deals on Apple products on Black Friday, steer clear of Apple itself. This year is little different.

Apple is giving out gift cards this year, but only for highly specific purchases. Here’s what you can expect:

  • $25 for Apple Watch Series 3, AirPods (2nd-gen), or any Apple TV
  • $50 for purchase of iPhone XR or iPhone 8
  • $50-$100 for iPads, depending on model
  • $100 for purchases of various Beats headphones
  • $200 for pricey Macs

In other words, meh. You’ll be better off checking out the summary of the best deals at the top of the page.

From November 27 until December 8, you can take 40 percent off everything on—although you’ll have to keep it limited to 10 products per order.

As anyone who follows our daily deal posts knows, Amazon is an excellent place to find deals on Apple products. It’s also quite unpredictable. Sales will appear, and then the products will sell out before we even have a chance to write about them. Amazon also does a lot of price matching, which means that if Best Buy offers a killer deal on an iPad, Amazon will likely follow up with one of its own. With that in mind, though, here are the best deals we know of. Just keep in mind that they might change quickly.

AirPods: Amazon is now selling the second-generation AirPods for just $129 (down from 159), which is a match of Walmart’s highly publicized price. Walmart’s stock has sold out multiple times since Thanksgiving morning, though.

Apple Watch Series 5: Get the 44mm stainless steel GPS + Cellular model for $669, down from $749. It’s been at this price for a couple of weeks, but this is still the lowest price we’ve seen.

27-inch 5K iMac (2019): Get this model with 1TB of storage for $1,599.99, down from $1,799.

11-inch iPad Pro: Amazon is selling the 64GB Wi-Fi only version of this model for $649.99, down from $799. This is an all-time low price.

MacBook Air (2019): Get the latest MacBook Air with 8GB RAM/128GB SSD for $899.99, down from the retail price of $1,099. This is the lowest price we’ve seen it listed for on Amazon, but it’s been at this price many times before.

MacBook Air (2017): This is the older model—that is, the one before Apple ditched the glowing logo and introduced the “butterfly” keyboard. Get this model with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD for $699, down $300 from the normal retail price of $999.

13-inch MacBook Pro (2019): Get the i5/8GB/128GB model for $1,499.99, down almost $300 from the usual retail price of $1,799.

Mac Mini: The new 128GB model with a 3.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i3 processor is selling for $699, down from $799. This is the lowest price we’ve seen, but it’s been at this price many times before.

Target has long been one of the best stores to visit for Apple products on Black Friday, and it continues that tradition this year with some fantastic deals on iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods. Most of the deals go live for the general public on Friday itself, but Target RedCard and Circle rewards members can start taking advantage of the deals on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.

Brick-and-mortar Target stores will open on Thanksgiving Day at 5:00 p.m. local time and stay open until 1:00 a.m. on Friday. On Black Friday itself, stores will open at 7:00 a.m. We’ve singled out the Apple stuff below, but if you want to see everything Target is offering, check out its massive 54-page mailer.

Deals Available Now

AirPods: Get the second-generation AirPods with charging case for $144.99, down from the usual price of $159.99. Alternatively, you can get the AirPods with the wireless charging case for $169.99 (down from $199.99). Not bad, but right now can get them for $139 at Amazon.

Black Friday Deals

iPhone: If you buy an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max from Target and activate it with either Verizon or AT&T, Target will give you a $200 Target gift card. This deal lasts the whole weekend, starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday and ending on Sunday, December 1.

iPad: Target is selling the new 10.2-inch iPad for $249.99, which is the lowest price we’ve seen for this model. It retails for $329.99.

Apple Watch Series 3: Get the still-impressive Series 3 for as little as $169.99. It’s hard to confirm, but the model looks like the 38mm aluminum model with the white sport band. Walmart is offering a better deal.

App Store and iTunes gift cards: Buy one gift card at full price and buy a second for 30 percent off. The values of the cards included in the deal aren’t specified, but it’s probably safe to assume the deal covers all of them.

Walmart has some fantastic deals this year—some of the best, in fact—particularly if you’re in the market for a slightly older Apple Watch. The items below go on sale online on Wednesday, November 27 at 1 a.m. Eastern, and then you’ll see then in stores on Thanksgiving Day beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Apple Watch Series 3: You can get the 38mm Apple Watch Series 3 for $129, down from the current going price of $199. Alternatively, you can get the 48mm version for $159, down from the going rate of $229 (and the $309 retail). In both cases, that’s the best price we know of—and around $40 less than what you’d pay at Target.

iPad: Walmart will sell the new 32GB 10.2-inch iPad for $249, down from the normal retail price of $329. Other retailers are selling it for this price, but it’s a good one—certainly the lowest we’ve seen so far this year. Amazon is currently selling it for this price.

iPhone: Head to Walmart if you want an iPhone. If you buy and activate an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max, Walmart will give you a $300 Walmart gift card. If you buy and activate an iPhone XS, Walmart will give you a $450 gift card. You’ll get a $400 gift card if you buy either an iPhone XS Max or XR. Trade in a qualifying smartphone, and you’ll get another $250 Walmart gift card. Walmart is also selling the 32GB iPhone 6s Plus for $149 if you buy it with either its Straight Talk or Total Wireless plans.

AirPods: Walmart will be selling the standard second-generation AirPods for $129, down from the regular retail price of $159. This is the best price we know of. As of the time of writing, they’re already on sale for $139.

B&H Photo

B&H Photo is one of the better destinations for Mac and iMac deals, and this year there are plenty to choose from.

It’s also the best place to shop for the new 16-inch MacBook Pro, as you can find discounts of $200 on many variations. At the least expensive, you can get one for $2,199.

We also recommend checking out the two models below. Unfortunately, these aren’t really “Black Friday deals,” as both will end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday night (November 27).

For one, there’s this 2017 27-inch Retina 5K model with 8GB of RAM and a 2TB Fusion drive, which is on sale for just $1,599, down a whopping $700 from the usual price of $2,229. That’s easily the best price we’ve seen for this model to date.

For another, you can get this 2017 1TB 21.5-inch 5K model with 8GB of memory for $1,349, down from $1,799. Both deals also come with free two-day shipping.

Most retailers drop all their deals on the table at once, but not Costco. Instead, it’s dropping new deals every few days. As such, we’ve organized Costco’s section by date rather than product. Just a reminder: You have to be a Costco member in order to take advantage of its deals.

Some of the best deals, though, aren’t strictly limited to Black Friday. From November 25 through December 24, Costco is selling theGPS-only 40mm aluminum space gray Apple Watch Series 5 for just $354.99, down from Apple’s normal retail price of $399. The larger the larger 44mm model is selling for $384.99, down from Apple’s retail price of $429. These are the best prices we’ve seen this watch listed for.

Until December 2

  • 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro (i7/256GB SSD): $1,499.99, down from $1,749.99.

November 28 (Thanksgiving)

  • 13-inch MacBook Air: $699.99 (down from $899.99)

November 29-December 2

  • 13-inch 256GB MacBook Air: $999.99 (down from $1,199.99)

Best Buy

Best Buy already had an impressive “Black Friday” sale for Apple products earlier this month, and we covered those deals individually when they dropped. The retailer’s actual Black Friday sales are kind of tame by comparison (at least for Apple products).

One exception is the discount for the Apple Watch Series 4, which starts at $299 for the smaller 40mm model, down $50 from the usual retail price of $349.

You can also get the HomePod for $199.99, down for $299.99. This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen.

  • Powerbeats Pro: $199.99 (down from $249.99)
  • App Store and iTunes gift cards: 20 percent off
  • MacBook cases from Incase: 50 percent off

Staples has some decent deals for Black Friday, but nothing remarkable—we’ve seen these prices (and better) at other retailers. You can take advantage of these deals online on Thanksgiving and in the stores beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Apple typically doesn’t markdown its product lines for Black Friday, but that doesn’t mean other retailers can’t offer up their own Apple deals during the holiday shopping season. From Amazon to Walmart, you can always find discounted iPads, iPhones, and Macs. You’ll sometimes even find bundle offers as well as rollbacks with store gift cards included. So, it’s definitely worth digging around.

To help you this Black Friday, we’re rounding up the best Apple device deals right here. Best Buy is first out of the gate, with significant discounts on Apple gear. In fact, for some products, Best Buy is matching or setting the all-time lowest prices.

Note: We will update this post with deals from other retailers shortly.

1 – 5 of 26 PREV

Apple Black Friday may be over for the year, but it’s never too early to start prepping for next year’s event. Well – perhaps it is a little. But here we go anyway. In this article you’ll find everything you need to know about the Apple Black Friday 2020 sale, including how to bag the best bargains, and a look back on the discounts we saw in 2019.

When it gets to the big day(s) in November, we’ll be busy curating the best deals for you so you don’t miss out. First let’s look at the burning questions everyone is asking.

Will Apple have deals on Black Friday?

There were a wide range of Apple Black Friday discounts in 2019, and 2020 is likely to look very similar, with impressive Apple Black Friday deals across a whole range of devices. However, unless you’re dead set on shopping in the Apple Store itself, you’re almost certain to find the best Apple Black Friday deals come from other retailers. In previous years, rather than discounting the products themselves, the tech giant offered money off further Apple spending, with gift cards given on purchases made over the shopping event.

Are Apple Cyber Monday deals the same as Black Friday?

There are Apple Cyber Monday offers every year, and they’re unlikely to be the same as Black Friday. Retailers tend to bring out the highest concentration of bargains on Black Friday itself, and Cyber Monday is slightly less of a big deal. That said, Cyber Monday has historically been the time to bag a tech deal, so who knows?

If you’re wondering whether to hold off for a hot Apple Cyber Monday Apple deal, we’d probably advise against it. Some will be offering blanket deals across the whole long weekend, while other promotions will be live for a shorter period, and the best offers will likely sell out.

That’s a slightly frustrating answer, but our general advice is to think ahead on what you want to buy. Do you need particular specs or a specific model, or are you happy with whatever model the biggest Apple Black Friday discount happens to be on? Make a plan and if an offer crops up that matches your plans, snap it up then and there rather than waiting on the off chance something better will come around.

Where are the best Apple Black Friday deals?

The official Apple Store isn’t usually the best place to grab a bargain in the Apple Black Friday sale. Below is a roundup of the retailers with the biggest discounts in the Apple Black Friday 2019 sale. And of course, don’t forget to bookmark this page for a curated list of deals.

  • Amazon: Discounts on a range of products, in the US and UK
  • Best Buy: Deals on MacBooks, Apple Watches and AirPods
  • John Lewis: Some strong offers on MacBooks, iPads, iPhones and more
  • Very: Savings on MacBooks, iPads, AirPods, Apple TV and accessories
  • Currys PC World: Offers on various Apple products
  • AO: Some strong deals on iPhones
  • Walmart: Deals across a range of Apple products
  • Laptops Direct: Deals on MacBooks, iPads and iPhones

How to get the best Apple Black Friday deal

To get the best deal possible, it’s best to have a product and a price in mind. You don’t want to end up getting overwhelmed by the options and being unable to make a decision (or panicking and making the wrong decision), so start out with a clear plan.

Once you’ve decided on the product you’re after, you can start tracking its price on various retailers – or even simpler, bookmark this page and keep checking it. You could also set up a Google Alert for the prices you’re after. Here are some more tips here on how to make the most of Black Friday.

Apple Store Black Friday 2020 opening hours

Will you have to queue up round the block to get the best Apple Black Friday deals? This seems unlikely, because most Apple Stores will operate their usual opening hours across this period. If you’re in the US, check your local Apple Store opening times here.

As mentioned, however, the Apple Store isn’t likely to be the best place to bag yourself the best Apple Black Friday deals – you’ll probably be better off going to another retailer or shopping online. Don’t forget that we’ll be reporting on deals as they come in, so you can keep checking this page to bag yourself an Apple Black Friday bargain.

Apple Black Friday deals: iPad offers

Tablets are always in demand on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and we saw a lot of good Black Friday iPad deals in 2018. Figuring out which is the best offer, taking into account the different models, storage options and features, can be difficult. We’ve sorted through the best options with this in mind.

In terms of where to shop, in 2018 Walmart was the place to head for US shoppers, while in the UK, Very, John Lewis and eglobal central all had good deals.

Take a look at the best iPad offers right now in the widget below.

The best Cyber Monday MacBook deals

MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Black Friday deals are in high demand every year – mainly because, as designers will know, this kind of top-quality kit doesn’t come cheap.

So how much does a MacBook cost on Cyber Monday? Short answer: it depends where you go and which model and spec you’re interested in. As you might expect the best discounts are typically on slightly older machines, so if you don’t mind not having the latest, greatest MacBook then that’s often a good way to bag a bargain. Another hot tip is to keep an eye out for refurbished models – there can be some hidden gems on pre-owned models.

In 2018 in the US, Jet, B&H and Adorama were the places to bag the best Black Friday Apple offers on MacBooks. In the UK, John Lewis, Very and Curry’s came through with some good deals, and there was also a standout offer from Laptops Direct.

Take a look at the best prices right now in the widget below.

Cyber Monday Apple Airpods deals

In 2018, everyone was after an Airpod deal. Retailers did not oblige. There were a few little discounts here and there, but nothing that really made a dent in the hefty price tag.

Will AirPods go on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2019? Well, we think so. We’re already starting to see some decent discounts on these true wireless earbuds (the price widget below will pull in the best offers in your region).

These little devices aren’t quite as new and exciting now (and there’s a fair bit of competition hitting the market in the form of Amazon’s Echo Buds and Microsoft’s Surface Earbuds), so here’s hoping this November brings some strong Black Friday Apple Airpods deals.

Cyber Monday Apple Watch deals

There were quite a few good Apple Watch deals on Black Friday 2018, with discounts on the Series 3 as well as older models. The newest model back then – the Apple Watch 4, released September 2018 – didn’t get much Black Friday action.

Apple has just launched its Apple Watch Series 5, so Black Friday 2019 might be the time to bag a bargain on a Series 4 Apple Watch.

In the US, the best 2018 Black Friday Apple Watch deals came from B&H, Macy’s and Amazon. In the UK, shoppers were better off heading to John Lewis or Very.

Apple Store Black Friday promotion live in the United States, get a gift card up to $200 value

Apple’s Black Friday shopping event is now live in the United States. Don’t go celebrating too much — the deals aren’t the best. Apple is giving away up to $200 in gift cards with select purchases (that excludes newer hardware like AirPods Pro or 16-inch MacBook Pro).

Check out the latest offers on 9to5Toys for the best deals from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

Apple’s premium brand means it is not known for offering deep discounts on Black Friday – Cyber Monday shopping season, and this year is no exception.

Apple Black Friday Shopping Event

Apple is offering a $50 gift card for purchases of iPhone XR and iPhone 8, and a measlier $25 with Apple Watch Series 3 or second-generation AirPods or an Apple TV device. (Note second-gen AirPods are currently discounted by as much as $70 on Amazon.)

The gift card for iPad purchases is slightly more generous ranging from $50 to $100 depending on the model. More expensive Mac purchases can qualify for a $200 gift card.

You can also get up to $100 in gift card credit for various Beats headphones purchases. Apple is also promoting Apple Card 3% cashback and the free Apple TV+ deal as part of this shopping event (one free year trial of Apple TV+ for any purchase of iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV). However, these last two bonuses are not Black Friday exclusives by any means.

In summary, the deals are as disappointing as we thought they would be based on the Australian launch. If you are hunting for value for money, shop elsewhere. 9to5Toys is rounding up all the best Apple discounts, including up to $249 off an iPad Pro, Apple Watch Series 5 as low as $355, and much more.

After a stream of early teaser discounts followed by a torrent of great deals, the curtain has fallen on this year’s big Black Friday sales event. Many stores now open their doors early to Black Friday shoppers on Thanksgiving day, and in many places this former one-day blowout is now running all the way from Thanksgiving through the whole weekend, culminating in Cyber Monday (which has itself now grown into Cyber Week).

Since its beginnings, Black Friday has grown to become the best time of the year other than Prime Day to find deals on name-brand electronics like Apple iPads, AirPods, Apple Watches, MacBooks, Beats headphones, and iPhones. Although Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Cyber Week have all pretty much wrapped up, the holiday shopping season is far from over and there are more than a few online Apple deals still available for savvy shoppers to find — and we’ve got ’em right here.

Empty Thanksgiving dinner plates now signal the official start of the Christmas shopping season. This year was no different, with many stores flinging open their doors to shoppers on Thanksgiving evening instead of waiting until Friday. This has become the norm, and Black Friday itself kicks off a whole season of sales that run from Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day and into January (with retailers anticipating post-Christmas shoppers looking to burn the gift cards and cash they got from Santa). Black Friday weekend and Cyber Week are both over now, though, and many of their bargains have disappeared with them, but quite a few holiday deals are still up for the taking — if you can find them.

If you’re determined to score the best last-chance Apple Black Friday bargains and extended Cyber Week discounts before they’re totally gone, you’ll need to keep one eye glued to big-box retail stores like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, as well as to this page. The above price cuts on AirPods, Apple Watches, MacBooks, and iPads can help you scratch that itch for deals, steals, and all things Apple.

How to find extended Apple Black Friday deals

Andy Boxall/DigitalTrends

This year has been a gold mind for Apple fans, with plenty of new stuff released in 2019. Apple brought out two welcome surprises in the spring with the new iPad Mini and iPad Air, and many were also happy to see updated iterations of the Apple Watch Series 5, seventh-gen iPad, and iPhone 11 in the fall. That means that Cyber Week and the whole holiday shopping season is a fantastic time to find deals on 2018 devices like the Apple Watch Series 4, iPad Pro, and iPhone XS, but don’t overlook slightly older but still-awesome gadgets like the Apple Watch Series 3, sixth-gen 2018 iPad, and first-gen AirPods. As the remaining Cyber Week deals finally dry up, those last-gen items are almost always the best picks still remaining as they fly under the radars of shoppers who are focused on the newer products.

Finally, if something you were after sells out at one store, there’s a good chance that another retailer still has it in stock. We’re always rounding up all the latest deals on iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and MacBooks, so shop around and compare prices before handing over your cash (although if one place has the best deal on a certain item, worry not — that will be the one we list). Just don’t dawdle too much, as Black Friday weekend and Cyber Week are both over, so a lot of the best deals have already been claimed. If you’re looking for more great stuff after Cyber Week has ended, then you can also find other tech discounts, ongoing holiday sales, and much more on our curated deals page.

We strive to help our readers find the best deals on quality products and services, and we choose what we cover carefully and independently. The prices, details, and availability of the products and deals in this post may be subject to change at anytime. Be sure to check that they are still in effect before making a purchase.

Although Apple itself typically doesn’t offer very aggressive deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday (Apple gave out gift cards valued at up to $200 with qualifying products in 2018), Apple Authorized Resellers like Adorama, Amazon, B&H Photo, and Best Buy are expected to drop prices and offer exclusive coupon discounts on Apple products. What to expect on Black Friday

Mac, iPad and Apple Watch Black Friday deals

With retailers launching deals earlier and earlier each year, it’s best to start paying attention to price drops at least a week before Black Friday. That’s because historically third-party Apple resellers, such as Adorama and B&H, issue exclusive Black Friday deals prior to the holiday weekend. If there’s a CTO model you’ve been eyeing, Black Friday week is often the time to take the plunge on a great deal before inventory runs out.

Looking for the best deal on a standard configuration? Then you’ll want to check back at AppleInsider as we get closer to Black Friday to see which retailers are offering the lowest prices on retail configs, along with free gift offers and financing incentives.

Speaking of financing incentives, 2019 is the first year B&H has offered an instant sales tax refund to qualifying shoppers with its Payboo Credit Card. Introduced in May 2019, the Payboo Card offers a tax-equivalent credit that’s issued instantly on purchases. For someone looking to pay off the balance in full when it comes due can see significant savings compared to buying from another retailer.

Those wanting to spread payments out over time have a variety of financing options when buying a Mac, iPad or Apple Watch. Amazon, Best Buy, Adorama, and B&H all offer no interest financing when paid in full within 12 months on many MacBook and iPad Pro devices.

There’s also the newly launched Apple Card, which offers cash back incentives, including 2% daily cash back at third-party retailers that accept Apple Pay.

Software deals

Although hardware typically takes center stage when it comes to Black Friday deals, software is also discounted for the massive shopping weekend. Companies including Adobe, Parallels, VMWare and Setapp have all issued Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in 2018, and we expect the same to occur in 2019.

Where to find the best Apple Black Friday deals

The latest prices and coupon offers on Apple products can be found 24/7 in the AppleInsider Price Guide before, during and after Black Friday.
