Ambiano food processor review

Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

I was quite excited to receive the Aldi Ambiano Nutrient Blender to review and couldn’t wait to get started, making smoothies for our new healthier lifestyle this year. I couldn’t wait for it to have pride of place in our kitchen.

Aldi Ambiano Nutrient Blender in the Box

What were our first impressions of the Ambiano Nutrient Blender?

The Ambiano Nutrient Blender comes with three different sized jugs to use on it. It also has two different blades – one for blending and one for grinding. It also comes with lids so you can store your drinks in the fridge and lids with drinking spouts so you can take them with you to enjoy on the go.

How do you use the Aldi Ambiano Blender?

The Aldi Ambiano professional blender is simple to use. You add ingredients to the jug, attach the blade and then put the whole thing on top of the motor unit. But, it doesn’t have an on/off button. Instead you push the jug down and secure it into place and it turns on automatically. You then turn it back to un-secure it to turn it off again.

This, in theory is great but in practice it’s a little tricky to secure and then undo. It’s fine, however, if you don’t secure it and just push it down. Making sure you let go when you want to stop the blender. It means that it doesn’t have different speed settings. It has just one speed but with the two different blades to get different results.

The ambiano blender works well. The grinder blade really helps to grind down nuts, seeds and other harder bits of the smoothies we’ve been making. It is easy to use and the finished drinks are lovely. It can be used for anything from milkshakes to smoothies and protein powder shakes. I’m sure we’ll be using it a lot in the future. I just wish there was a speed setting. This Aldi blender isn’t a Vitamix or Nutribullet professional nutrition blender and it probably isn’t top of all the blenders and smoothie makers on the market. But it’s a great choice for the price and a lovely addition to our home.

The Ambiano Nutrient Blender has an RRP of £19.99 and you can find some Ambiano blender recipes here.

It really doesn’t matter if you are investing in a food processor or a blender; you always want to make sure that you are investing in a quality product. If you read any Ambiano Food Processor Review, you really easy see that this company believes in their products. In fact, they believe it in so much that they are willing to back it with a three-year warranty. In the event that you experience any malfunctions or technical difficulties within the first three years, the company will either repair the defects or completely replace the processor.

Utilizes 120 Volts AC

If you live in the United States you already know that the most common power source is 110 to 120 volts AC. Sure, there are a lot of convertors and products out there that utilize 220 to 240 volts, but this simply means that you have to make an additional purchase. Who wants to spend another $30 to $40 after they have already dropped a payment on a processor? No one does and with the Aldi Ambiano Food Processor you won’t have to.

This processor operates by utilizing 110 to 120 volts AC, so you can plug it right into any outlet and just go about your processing business. This is not only convenient, but it could save you some additional money in the process.

Easy Cleaning Process

Cleaning you processor is imperative to ensuring its integrity and longevity. Sure, this might be something that you don’t want to do, but it is absolutely necessary. Luckily the Aldi Company has really simplified the process. In fact, if you read any Ambiano Food Processor Review, you will see that this is one of the qualities that set the company apart from the competition.

Users can simply use a damp cloth to easily wipe off the main unit. Just be sure to entirely dry the unit before reassembling it and applying electricity. After disassembling the accessories you can easily and quickly clean them with soapy water in the sink. Keep in mind that all of the accessories are dishwasher safe, as long as you do not exceed temperatures of 122 degrees F.

Polarized Plug

The Ambiano Food Processor has an electric cable with a polarized plug. This plug is designed to eliminate the risk of electric shock. It fits into any polarized outlet perfectly. If you just happen to be in an establishment that does not have a polarized outlet, you can reverse the plug to make it fit.

In addition to the polarized plug, the food processor is equipped with a short electric cable. The shorter length will reduce the risk of fall injuries related to tripping over the cord.

Safety Interlock Mechanism

To reduce the risk of injuries and mishaps, the Ambiano Food Processor is embedded with an interlock mechanism. This safety feature will prevent the food processor from starting, if the bowl, lid and base are not properly assembled and locked.

Locking the lid, bowl and base into place is very simple. The bowl locks to the powerbase, while the lid attaches to the bowl by aligning with the respective grooves. The lid will need to be turned counterclockwise to lock into place securely. If you do not understand these instructions, you can always refer to the user guide that is included with the machine.

To unlock the lid from the bowl, you just simply turn it clockwise.

Easy Assembly

When you receive your new Ambiano Food Processor, a little assembly is required before the first use. Refer to the assembly instructions in the user guide to complete this process, which only consists of about four steps.

  • First Step – Place the power base on a level surface. The speed control knob should be in the off position before moving forward.
  • Second Step – Attach the bowl to the power base
  • Third Step – Grab the plastic stalk on the knife blade attachment to attach to the drive shaft. Gently twist and push down into place
  • Fourth Step – Attach the lid onto the bow and turn counterclockwise until it securely locks into place. Verify that the arrows on the lid and handle line up properly.

User-Friendly Control Panel

The Ambiano Food Processor has a very user-friendly control panel, which consists of the speed control knob. The three speed options are labeled around the diameter of the knob. The PULSE function delivers short bursts of power, but will only work as long as you are holding the knob in the PULSE position. When you release the knob, the food processor will cut off.

The other settings on the speed control knob include the OFF position and the LOW and HIGH functions. The LOW function produces continuous power at approximately 2300 RPM, which is ideal for soft foods, such as bananas, boiled eggs and strawberries. The HIGH function produces continuous power at 3100 RPM, which is more suitable for sliding potatoes, apples and onions.

Pros

  • Dishwasher safe accessories
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • Utilizes 110 to 120 volts AC for easy application in the United States
  • Can be utilized for a variety of applications
  • Backed with an impressive three-year warranty
  • Pumps out 200 watts

Cons

  • Might not be powerful enough for some tougher foods
  • Juicer is slower than more expensive models

Must-Have Kitchen Products You Can Get at Aldi for Under $100

When I first fell in love with cooking and baking back in high school, all I could talk about was getting a fancy stand mixer like all the best bakers had. I was sick of the electric hand mixer my parents were gifted at their wedding 20 years prior (it reeked of burning plastic even on a low speed) and was convinced I could save my waitressing tips to buy myself one eventually. Luckily for me, my cousin ended up with two identical stand mixers after her wedding and so generously gave one to me. It remains one of my favorite gifts of all time and I still use it at least twice a week.

If you love to be in the kitchen, luxury kitchen items call to you not only for their beauty, but also for their function. And now there are more expensive and desirable products on the market than ever-the Instant Pot, Le Creuset Dutch ovens in every color under the sun and immersion cookers for sous vide cooking at home. Fortunately, Aldi has come in, once again, to save the day by releasing budget versions of these luxury items, all under $100, coming to stores this fall. Once each item hits shelves, it will only be available for a limited time-so run, don’t walk to your nearest Aldi.

With its vast array of attachments for making sausages, pasta and more, this mixer is desperate to meet all your baking needs. But is it a dream come true or as disappointing as a deflated soufflé?

Available in stores and online on Sunday 29 October 2017, the Ambiano Premium is the second stand mixer that Aldi has sold as part of its regular ‘Special buy’ offers during the 2017 Bake Off. As with all Aldi appliance offers, it will only be available for a limited time while stocks last.

Whether you’re a keen baker yourself or planning ahead for Christmas gifts, you’ll want to find out whether to set your alarm early on Sunday morning and get yourself to Aldi to snap one up.

Watch the video below and read on for more on what this mixer offers versus its rivals, or skip straight to the full Aldi Ambiano Premium first look review to get our verdict.

What you’ll get with the Aldi stand mixer

The Ambiano Premium stand mixer has eight speed settings, a pulse function and a 4.6-litre mixing bowl that’s more than big enough for everyday baking. The stainless steel bowl has a large handle, which makes jobs like scooping out your cake mix into the tin much easier.

As well as the usual features – dough hook, flat beater and balloon whisk – this mixer comes with extra accessories for making things like pasta, sausages, cookies and kebabs. While plenty of premium mixers have accessories available for these sorts of jobs, you’ll usually have to pay extra for them.

There’s a bowl splashguard that’s designed to keep kitchen walls and worktops clean. And for the really houseproud, there’s a mini splash guard that clips onto the attachments, too – although we found this fiddly to use.

You can choose between three colours: red, white and metallic grey.

Is the Ambiano Premium mixer a good deal?

There are some nice extras with this mixer that you wouldn’t normally see on a budget model. The flat beater has a flexible silicon edge, which can help to incorporate ingredients stuck on the side of the bowl. This is more often included with pricier branded mixers such as the Kenwood kMix.

The extra sausage and pasta-making accessories are a bonus, particularly if you’re keen to get more out of your mixer, but don’t want to spend a huge amount. However, it’s not worth buying if it can’t tackle the key jobs of mixing, kneading and whisking effectively, so make sure you check our full Aldi Ambiano first look review for our first impressions.

We’ve tested many a mixer at Which?, and we’ve found that cheaper models can prove to be a false economy. Some cheap mixers we’ve tested are slow to mix, make lots of noise or need constant scraping down to make sure no ingredients are missed.

There’s no need to despair though, we’ve also found some brilliant budget mixers that tackle core jobs effectively, and some even include extra accessories. We’ve got Best Buys starting from £165, so head to our round-up of the best stand mixers to compare models and find the best option for your budget.

Black Friday stand mixers

If you’re keen to get your hands on a stand mixer, another option is to hang on until Black Friday, which falls on 24 November this year. Many major retailers will be offering discounts on kitchen appliances, so you could well bag a branded mixer at a bargain price.

Be aware, though, that some store deals may sound better than they actually are, so it’s worth doing your research beforehand, and having a shortlist of high-scoring models that you want to look out for.
