Adidas jacket black and brown

Is The Adidas Jacket Black & Brown Or White & Blue? Here We Go Again — PHOTO

Just when you thought we had moved past the great debate that was “the dress,” it’s time for another Internet debate. Is the Adidas jacket black and brown or blue and white? That is the great question. People seem to have split into two teams, although, team blue and white feels way more sure of itself than the other side.

For those who are seeing brown, they are presenting a variety of combinations. Some brown and black, some green and brown. Clearly, the answer to the question, “What color is it?” isn’t so simple. I personally see black and brown, but who’s to say what’s right or wrong, at this point. All I know for sure is what I see, and the fact that the rest of the Internet is seeing something different. This truly is “the dress” all over again. How could this be happening again so soon, you guys? Seriously, I’m just not ready for it, yet.

But, nevertheless, the time to choose what side you’re on in now. What colors do you see? Are you team blue and white or team brown and a variation of colors? See how Twitter is sounding off on the latest Internet conundrum.

Here we go, again.

Blue & White:

Clearly, people can’t help but have an opinion.

It’s blue and white. Obviously?

Some people feel quite confident in their answer.

You may even know who’s responsible for this, and feel extra sure that you know what color it is.

Team blue and white.

The blue and white side are definitely feeling sure of their opinions.

Black & Brown:

People also feel strongly that it’s black and brown.

Or, is it green and brown?

Seriously, though. Which is it?

Clearly, this is quite confusing.

Despite how many people are seeing blue and white, you can’t deny that there are those seeing brown.

There, he said it. Finally, a more definite answer for the people who are seeing brown.

How can this debate ever end? Well, there’s one way to put a stop to it:

I vote we let them settle it once and for all.

— — One Adidas jacket is becoming the “new dress,” at least in terms of creating an Internet fiasco.

Exactly one year after a heavy debate unfolded on social media over the color of “the dress,” people are bickering over the color of a rayon Adidas zip-up jacket.

Some believe it’s black and brown, while others suggested green and gold or green and brown.

High school sophomore and Santa Clarita, California, resident Mariam Kabba said she began a group chat Thursday about the dress after one of her friends was adamant that her blue-and-white jacket was brown and black.

Shortly after, that friend, 16-year-old Nina Penzo, posted a picture of the jacket to Tumblr. Within minutes the post had garnered thousands of responses.

“I had no intention of it blowing up,” Penzo told ABC News today. “I didn’t think it would get as big as it did.”

On Feb. 27, 2015, an overexposed image of a $77 dress because an Internet sensation when it spawned millions of arguments on whether the dress was blue and black or white and gold.

The official color of the Adidas jacket is baby blue and white, Kabba said, who added that she was “freaking out” because some of her favorite celebrities, including YouTube singer Ricky Dillon and singer Peter Bea Miller, noticed her jacket.

Taira Ochoa, 20, was the first to comment on Penzo’s Tumblr post and told ABC News she thought it was “crazy” that her group of friends started a social media firestorm over a simple article of clothing.

“We all wake up and it’s all over the news, Ochoa said. “It’s insane.”

Thousands took to Twitter to share what color they think the jacket really is.

Or, for peace of mind, you can always avoid the argument all together.

Well, what color is it? (Tumblr Screenshot)

Blue and black? Or beige and white? It was the question that tore friendships apart last winter, and, just in time for the one-year anniversary, a Tumblr post has a new optically puzzling garment: a jacket that is…well, you decide.

Some are claiming the jacket is green and gold, while others see blue and white, black and brown or other combinations. A BuzzFeed poll on the jacket found 71 percent of respondents agree that it’s blue and white, while 10 percent said black and brown, eight percent green and gold and five percent green and brown. Six percent of respondents were simply disgusted at the re-emergence of the comparative clothing colors phenomenon.

Other published polls have disagreed, however. Blue and white led black and brown by a margin of 42 percent to 31 percent in a Hollywood Life poll with green and gold scoring a respectable 20 percent and green and brown once more far back at 7 percent. An AOL News poll had blue and white outpacing green and brown, 38 percent to 20 percent, respectively. Black and brown and green and gold were nearly tied with 17 percent and 15 percent, respectively, and “MAKE IT STOP” pulled in a respectable 10 percent. (This is your chance to throw in a joke about the Republican primary polling, so don’t miss it.)

The jacket, apparently made by Adidas, first became notable after a Tumblr post arose, highlighting the lack of obvious color. Although not as prominent a phenomenon as the dress so far, reactions across media and social media have been pronounced.

Hopefully this time we won’t see families torn asunder quite as readily as they were in last year’s dress fiasco, but…well, that may be a pipe dream.

What Color Is The Adidas Jacket? This Could Be “The Dress” All Over Again — PHOTO

A year ago today, The Great Dress Debate took social media by storm, and, well it looks like we might just have another similar fight on our hands. According to Buzzfeed, there’s debate over the colors of this Adidas jacket, which some people say is blue and white, while others claim that it is black and brown. Get ready to go crazy all over again!

The jacket was originally posted to Tumblr after two friends disagreed on the color, and now the fight is happening all over again. Twitter is already going nuts with tons of reactions after Buzzfeed tweeted the image. From anger to full on confusion, it looks like people don’t know what to believe. So far, the jacket debate is between either blue and white or black and brown, and things are getting pretty crazy on social media, yet again. I can almost hear the clicks of un-following happening with every tweet mentioning #thejacket.

Adidas had yet to verify what the actual color of the jacket is, but it looks like black and brown are what’s got the majority of the votes. This whole thing is getting so out of hand that some people are even seeing green. Either way, you can probably expect a Kanye West twitter rant about it sometime in the near future.

It seems pretty odd to me that exactly a year later there would be another clothing debate, but the more people tweet, the more confusing it gets. Some have opted to stay out of the ordeal all together while others are deep in argument. Check out what people are saying.

Some people are just in denial.

While others are losing friends.

Some people are even seeing green..?

Peace, and love. Oh, and black and brown.

Stop the madness!

Photoshop just thinks that we’re all crazy.

RIP, the dress. Welcome, the jacket.

Science is confusing.

Most people have just had enough.

This seems to sum it all up pretty well.

Is this Adidas Jacket Blue and White or Black and Brown?

In a sequel to last year’s viral debate about the true colour of the black/black white/gold dress, an Adidas jacket has gone viral in the past week for the same reason. Is this jacket blue and white or black and brown? Well, that depends.

Posted originally on Tumble by a user called Poppunkblogger, the Adidas jacket was posted along with the message, “I hate to make a new blue/black white/gold dress mem but my friend has this jacket and she says it’s white and blue but I see black and brown pls tell me what you see.”

In Feb. 27, 2015, an overexposed image of a $77 dress because an Internet sensation, generating millions of arguments about whether the dress was blue and black or white and gold. It was eventually revealed that the true colours of the dress are black and blue. But why the confusion?

Scientists weighed in at the time to explain that the disagreements about colour are most likely caused by a mechanism in the brain that ensures an object is always seen to be the same colour, regardless of what the light conditions are. So for example, bright natural daylight is blueish in colour so the brain subtracts blue to adjust for the situation. By contrast, artificial light is yellowish, so the brain works to subtract yellow. The result is that in both cases, the object appears to be the same colour. Also important for your brain to work out a colour is context. So for example, nearby colours like red or green help your brain to determine exactly how much yellow or blue light to subtract.

In the case of the dress, and now this Adidas jacket, the objects are each seen in isolation so the brain has no other points of colour reference to rely upon. Blue as a colour is particularly difficult for the brain to process, so some people take away too much blue, thus seeing the dress as white and gold. Other people’s brains correctly subtract the yellows, seeing the dress as blue and black.

Adidas had yet to verify what the actual color of the jacket is, but you can this poll to see how the majority view the jacket.

One year after ‘The Dress’, social media debates colour of ‘The Jacket’

And tell her, the world did.

Some agreed with Nina’s friend that it was white and blue, while others swore that it was black and brown. A couple of other combinations were then thrown into the mix: green and gold, or green and brown.

“Nina what did you do,” Tumblr user dammitmichael said as the debate gathered momentum.

“I don’t know. I’m sorry. I’m scared. I’m so scared. I’m crying,” she replied.

As with the dress, the reason people see different colours is down to how our eyes perceive colours that are in sunlight or shade.

When light hits the retina at the back of the eye at differing wavelengths, our brain perceives different colours. However, it is also working out how much the light around the colour is illuminating it and subtracts that from the ‘real’ colour. But sometimes the brain gets confused by the effect of light and shade and makes a different calculation to others.

Still, that doesn’t stop everyone on the internet insisting they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Some couldn’t comprehend how other people could see something else other than black and brown. “I literally have no idea which parts are meant to be blue and which are white. I hate this. #TheJacket #TeamBlackandBrown,” Kay Dekker tweeted.

Coming a year after the dress furore, some suspected the latest debate was staged. “#thedress happened exactly a year ago today so I think #thejacket is a set up,” Maura said.

Others tried to shun the discussion. “I’m not taking part in this the jacket is black and brown that’s final,” tweeted Chloé.

So what is the ‘real’ colour? It’s blue and white, of course.

“There you go internet, now can we shut up about this please!” Marc Sislava tweeted.
